Have spent the last 3 hours playing the FIFA 12 demo. It's very awkward at first getting used to the new defending system but there is so much potential in this game it's got me that excited. Just need to master the new "feel".

Anyone know how I can get this on my PS3, without having it connected to the net? Like download it on the PC and transfer it via USB or something?

I've let in that many easy goals so far, my instincts take over and I keep using 'A' to tackle rather than 'B' and 'B' to call my second defender over which results in my player attempting to tackle fresh air while the defender runs past. Managed to score an own goal with Puyol before I had actually managed to score a goal for myself although I did score a lovely goal with Messi weaving in and out of defenders to the byline and then cutting back in and slotting it past the keeper.

Pretty sure you can only download via the console. Otherwise you'd have to look for a pirated copy online. Maybe go to a mate's place, or wait until the game comes out in a couple weeks, hire it from Blockbuster and if you like it order online?

Yes!! It's like you have to completely re-train the way you play FIFA! Yeah I actually had to put the difficulty all the way down to amateur cause I was getting raped when it was any higher! Just need some decent time to get used to it :)

One of my favourite parts of new FIFA. Being shit is awesome after dominating for so long on the old one :P Going to get the demo tonight when I get home from Uni \:d/ Reading EA Forums it sounds like they've made a lot of improvements.

Worth noting that, while this is a logical option, it doesn't result in me having it right now, and is thus pointless...:p

 I'm not excited about its release so I can wait. Looking forward to playing online but, my net actually has the bandwidth now.
And now that so many of us have converted to the dark side and got PS3s, we should get a proper league runnning.

Is defending harder or just that it takes time to learn how to defend? Defending was far too easy on 11. Had a season on WC with Barca where I conceded 5 goals or something stupid.
I wish I had the net. FIFA just ain't the same without online play. :(

Just played a few games and the defending definitely takes some getting used to. Feels so weird

What is so different about the defending?
Better or worse? I am guessing just more realistic?

Better or worse? I am guessing just more realistic? It's much more realistic. Before you could just hold the pressure button and your player would pretty much hone in on the ball. Now you have to stand off and really wait for the right moment to make the challenge. The way you play when you're not in possession is pretty much completely different and the CPU actually pass the ball around a lot more now. In past FIFAs, I usually dominate possession against the CPU but I've had about half of my games so far where the CPU has actually had more of the ball. I'm enjoying it so far.

imnofreak wrote:What is this old pressure button nonsense? I don't think I ever used it  It's the 'A' button, used to jostle. As Ducky mentioned, you used to be able to hold it down and have your defender run alongside the opponent and eventually win the ball. Now you have to actually sprint/run/jockey next to them and press 'B' when there is a chance to tackle. Defending is soo much better.

Is there no pressure/second man button? That was my key defensive move. Bring in the second man to take the player out and jockey in behind with my own.
