The World cup is over for another 4 years let’s look back for a second at a competition full of color, a strange ball, refereeing controversy, a physic octopus and of course some great football.

The Champions: Spain deserved to win the played with Spanish fair and was simply the best team on the park when it came down to it and play fantastic football.

A new legend has risen: Diego Forlan will be remembered by his country for all of time

Superstar flopped: Cristano Ronaldo, Torres, Rooney etc all failed to shine, this tournament was about the little players ie Suarez, Ozil and Honda

Australia can take form the World cup: Brett Holman rise to glory and a new era of Australian football begins.

What the World can take from this WC: A good football structure in place and strong emphasis on technical football from grass roots can turn you in to a World cup winning nation. Having a strong league full of foreigners and divides between players can only take you so far.

Final word: Congratulation Spain, thank you South Africa and bring on Brazil 2014

All I can say it's about fucking time Spain did it! I think despite pending retirements they can go on and win Euro again in 2 years time as they have the depth and the right style. I wonder how many countrys will try to emulate Spains quick short passing fast style play?

Their passing style is broring unless they get goals which they hardly had this WC. Their continuous passing in the midfield in little triangles is in no way good to watch and in entertainment terms were overshadowed by Argentina and Germany. They also showed that when they are actually pressured they struggle like against Paraguay and in the final against the Netherlands.

Hardly a new legend. I'd more say Muller is the hero that has risen.

To people who follow European football closely Ozil is hardly a little player and to anyone who followed the Champions League this past season Honda is no little player

If you think Spain is boring you have no idea sorry mate

Forlan won the golden ball he will be remembered and fairness Mullen will be too but Mullen is still young.

As in little player I was referring to not big names or players that before the competition you wouldn’t expected to have light up the World cup, or players you wouldn't bet on.

Sydney you really don’t like me

I'm sorry but watching Spain dominate games like crazy and then miss chance after chance after chance is not entertaining. I should know I support Arsenal. I'd much rather watch Germany or Argentina any day over Spain. Netherlands have been slammed for their style of play yet they scored more goals than Spain did.

I never said he wouldn't be remembered just the fact that he's not a new hero.

People were tipping a big tournament from Ozil before the WC started.

Ok mate relax dont have a cry, missing chances doesnt make them boring. Fair enough u dont agree with me but i think you go no idea.

The golden ball winner in the world cup is the highest honor a player can get in a single competition so i think that's a fair effort.

If you cant admire Spains one touch midfield and the way they played in unison and with almost perfect cohesion is a absolout joy to watch, then I hope you never coach football team because superstar teams win matches not superstar individuals.

If you think Spain are boring bro you dont understand or watch much football probably behind Germany and maybe argentina the best team to watch this World cup. They may not score as many goals but that is because teams play 5-5-0 against them.

Well I didn't miss a game this WC and haven't missed an Arsenal game for about 2 and a half seasons or isn't that enough football for you.

Like you said probably the 3rd best team to watch this WC all I'm saying is that I didn't find them particularly entertaining and would much rather watch Germany or Argentina.

So what if teams park the bus against them what do you expect them to do against Spain. Switzerland showed it worked so why wouldn't they do it?

Thank fuck it's over. Worst refereeing I've ever seen, the vuvuzelas are a nightmare, none of the games were packed out and over dramatic cunts lift the trophy again.

Switzerland had 2 shots on goal being a gunner’s fan I thought u would know what its like to absolutely dominate a team and concede an unfortunate goal and lose

Yeah Switzerland had 2 shots on goal and probably should have scored with the other shit. All I'm saying is that for all their dominance Spain had some huge problems converting their chances and dominating matches is no good if you don't convert chances. As an Arsenal fan I know that all to well.

Yea but you have lost your arguement with all do respect, because that doesnt make them boring it makes them not clinical enough they are still entertaining. I mean they are one of the few teams in the WC who played offensive football every game, I think you might of miss understood your own argurment.

That's the thing though, without goals their style of play isn't that great to watch. I know I hate watching Arsenal when they dominate a game but don't get a goal. It's extremley frustrating watching a team dominate so much but not do anything with it.

They got through this WC grinding out 1-0 wins mainly down to David Villa. Without him they would struggle for goals.

Like you said probably the 3rd best team to watch this WC all I'm saying is that I didn't find them particularly entertaining and would much rather watch Germany or Argentina.

Argentina were really enjoyable to watch against Germany  It was the first time their weak defence was tested. And Germany couldnt beat Spain...so there you go. :p

And Spain couldn't beat Switzerland

I guess this must be where our differences lay, i believe there is more then just scoring goals in football, however i do like high scoring games. I think Spain are good to watch they certainly dont park the bus however i think the displays of skill and individual brilliance is a positive step for football.

However you're entilted to your opinion but i think your wrong this time.

sydcro your just trying to be difficult. Your opinions are insignificant and worthless. It's failed argument from the beggining and your views on football are completly flawed. So if there is any 'lost arguments' its yours, as your dellusional. Happy life mate!
