I find it so funny that commentators and then the press here reporting "what a great start" or similar over only 2 games, as a watching supporter all I have seen is that its a struggle these 2 games, first off if it wasn't for the pen save previous game it would have been the usual game that got away. Villa are never easy and now as another young side starting to show promise added with Benteke/Aboglahor at the pointy end was hard work and not very convincing but as said bank the 3points. Can't see us doing our biggest rivals at present - they still have a better balanced squad. If Luis was there his X factor would have their backline for breakfastlunch and dinner washed down with a nice chianti then evra for desert - burp !

I think a lot of the "great start" comments are coming about because in the last few seasons we wouldn't have picked up all 3 points in these games. Still need to improve obviously but nice to go in to the next game with 2 wins behind us.

The important thing is that we're putting up the 3 points. We're 6 from 6 and this is our best league start since 2008. A win against United would be phenomenal. I can't say I'm optimistic about the United game but I think both sides would take a draw for that one.

We need to make a statement against MU. Especially at Anfield. This is the moment for us to stand up and be counted. A win is imperative as it will send a message to all other teams that we are not to here to make up the numbers anymore. In saying that it's going to be a very tough game but at home anything is possible.

If nothing else it would be brilliant to take the points against United just to see their fans start calling for Moyes' head.

Well...going to ET against Notts County doesn't exactly fill one with confidence for the weekend.

Liverpool should easily beat Notts County, if i was a Liverpool fan i wouldn't be too enthused that you had to go through ET in the first place to beat an inferior team.

The whole point is you shouldn't have to be grinding it out against a mid-table League One side at home, especially after being 2-0 up with a very very strong side. I'd be fucking livid, regardless of winning in ET.

As much as I agree about being stretched to the limit in the Leaague Cup game and disappointed it went the way it did it's path of the course manymany times a PL side no matter where on the table struggle through some of these games, not the first time nor the last thats the beauty of Cup games and frustrating for the favoured side especially the supporters. Scrapped through thats all that matters - pity its before one of the biggest games of the season but I suppose it will test our resolve and test BR getting us ready for this coming game, one thing is for sure we will be fighting it out.

Pretty much conceded defeat for this game after the Notts County one, not on our performance but because of Toure's injury. It means if fit (which I assume he is) distracted and not match fit Skrtel will partner Agger at CB and I just don't see us not conceding a couple. I also think we will score so it won't be a bad defeat but it will be a defeat. If Skrtel is injured it means currently Toure, Coates, Kelly and Skrtel are all injured and Wisdom will be at CB. While I rate him and doing well in a game like this could make him as a player but it is unlikely to happen.

Some people are just plain idiots, it is frustrating when they make your club looks shit when they are not associated with it but using the official twitter. Fuckhead

Should never be in that situation but was good to see our response when we were.
