Last night, Pakistan needed 53 runs from 24 balls to beat South Africa. Not only did they chase it down with a ball to spare, but 52 of those runs were scored by one man, Abdul Razzaq. Brutal Innings, and another incredible choke by South Africa

God I hate the Channel 9 Commentary. was watching wsc on fox the other day and i realised, the guys in the booth at the time could potentially all be in the same booth some time this year, but it's 30 years apart #-o I like Slater and Nicholas, i don't mind Tony Greig, i really hope they get somebody like Atherton on the comm team for the Ashes... the rest is just urgh, Taylor is just terrible just the same with Healey, Bill just can't see anymore, is hysterical and a HUGE melbourne bias (come on he says a great victorian before he says a great australian.... Fox is alright with the two nearly men with Blewett and Julian with Border

He is looking really good Yah. People seemed to forget coz he's been out injured for a while, but the man is a class bowler.

Quote:Hardly any Australian supporters have turned out to watch today's ODI at the MCG Roger Vaughan From: AAP November 03, 2010 HOW'S this for a bad omen at the start of an Ashes summer? In the first one-day international for the season at the MCG, the loudest cheer in the early stages of the Australian innings came when Victorian captain Cameron White was bowled for a golden duck. The unique circumstances of the match against Sri Lanka meant White and his team-mates were effectively the away side in the first of three one-dayers between the two countries. Cricket authorities were quietly muttering their thanks that Melbourne's Sri Lankan community love their cricket so much. Sri Lankan fans dominated - maybe by as much as 80 per cent - the poor crowd of about 10,000 watching the match. Colourful and noisy, the Sri Lankans even had a small brass band to help create a canrival atmosphere on a cool, bleak spring afternoon. It is also the last chance for Melbourne's Sri Lankan fans to see spin-bowling great Muttiah Muralidaran in action before his likely retirement at the end of next year's World Cup. Several factors meant sports-mad Melbourne was almost ignoring this match. The game was scheduled in the heart of the Spring Racing Carnival - the day after the Melbourne Cup and the day before Oaks Day. This week, the city's sporting attention is on odds, not overs. The weather has also been poor for several days, following Saturday's torrential downpour, and more scattered showers were forecast throughout Wednesday. Also, who knew this game was on? There has been minimal publicity in Melbourne for the first major sporting event at the MCG since the two AFL grand finals. The MCG usually does not host one-day internationals until early in the new year, when the weather is better and school holidays maximise the crowd size. As has been widely noted, it is curious that Australia are preparing for such an important home Ashes series with a Twenty20 and three one-dayers. England, meanwhile, will have a standard schedule of multiple-day tour matches before the first Ashes Test in Brisbane on November 25. The lowest crowd for an Australia-Sri Lanka one dayer at the MCG was 16,635 in early 1985 and Wednesday's match will come close to that. But here's an another bad omen - the worst one-day crowds at the MCG for matches involving Australia were two 12,000 attendances in early 1979 against England. That 1978-79 summer, England smashed the World Series-depleted Australia side in the Ashes 5-1. http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/hardly-any-australian-supporters-have-turned-out-to-watch-todays-odi-at-the-mcg/story-e6frg1wu-1225947413462

It's because the cricket summer in Australia doesn't truly start until the first ball is bowled in Brisbane. Scheduling a series of ODI's before that is rediculous.

Day after the Melbourne Cup too. Think people are lucky to be alive, yet keen enough to leave the house to go to the cricket . Not to mention it started at 2.00 on a wednesday...
Sri Lanka are right on top now, Sangakara is looking fantastic. Aussies getting a bit sloppy in the field too.

anyone see Ab De Villiers giving out stumped last night. worst cricketing decision i have ever seen by an umpire. he was way in his crease and the umpire gave it out.
it should really raise the question of neutral umpires.

The non-LBW in the first test in the recent series against India has to be up there with the worst.

The non-LBW in the first test in the recent series against India has to be up there with the worst. LBW is a bit understandable at times as its human eye. this was referred to the 3rd umpire and he had a look from like 3 or so diff angles and he still got it wrong.

The onl;y thing I can think of is if the 3rd up couldn't bee totally 100% sure if he got his foot down in time and gave Pakistan the benefit of the doubt.
