Siddle really needs to put in a good tailenders knock here and pick himself up and 50, and Mr. Cricket really needs to get himself another 100. However the pitch is deteriorating very quickly. There are more cracks appearing then a troupe of apprentice plumbers, it's very much turning into a bowlers paradise. Australia are still in the box seat nevertheless, and we can thank Warner for that. I somehow get the feeling the Aussies saw this coming, new it was important to build a first innings lead quickly, so that they can give their bowlers something to bowl to by day 3.

Personally I think once Australia gets to 460 they should declare. India's batting lineup looks shakier then a jenga tower, and have tended to collapse like one in recent matches. With the pitch deteriating like it is it won't give the Indians much confidence if they're having to chance 250/300 to make Australia bat again with that many cracks and footmarks on the pitch. But Australia need to bat until lunch tomorrow and the very least, I think. Get the score up to 460ish. Still plenty of time to do that, so they can take their time. Wickets in reserve are against thenm, but Huseey and Siddle should keep the Indians at bay if they play smart and sensible.

What the fuck are India playing at bowling constant half-volleys at Siddle's pads. As good as he's batted it's not like India have really given him anything to worry about.

In all fairness, the commentry team have it spot on. India aren't bowling well to him, they're trying to trap him on the crease in the hope of getting him out lbw or bowled. They're getting it wrong, and giving him juicy half volleys on leg stump which he's dispatching with ease. Glen McGrath would be having fun out there with the deliveries he's been getting.
