According to Goodes he didn't even get any painkillers. Would make it even more amazing.

Loved the game on Saturday, I was a wreck during that last quarter. Went absolutely nuts for Hannebery and Malceski's goals. Two of my favourite moments: Jetta running away from Rioli down the wing in the 1st quarter, absolutely burned him. Goodes knocking Buddy flat on his arse in the last quarter. Mitch Morton snagging 2 quick ones in the second was pretty good too

Best part of that was not having Bruce call it, Dennis made it even better.

Yeah, but even then it didn't look like he was going full pelt  What fucked Rioli was the way Jetta was able to do that little shift to the right and not lose one bit of pace.

He worked hard for the first 15m and the last 10m the rest was cruising. He would have had to work hard for the first 20-30m to go full pelt.

Quote:Festival of the boot wraps up ratings for networks October 1, 2012 - 12:10PM More than 3 million Australians watched the rugby league grand final clash between the Melbourne Storm and the Canterbury Bulldogs. The Sunday evening match drew a national audience of 3.68 million viewers, which includes the five capital cities and viewers in regional areas. That climbed to 3.711 million viewers for the presentation of the winning team. The pre-game entertainment drew a national (capital city plus regional) audience of 2.02 million viewers. Channel Nine's coverage ranked No.1 in the 25- to 54-year-old, 18 to 49 and 16 to 39 demographics. With audience volumes like that driving the numbers, a win for the night was a no-brainer for Nine. It took out the night with an impressive audience share of 40.8 per cent. In the 25 to 54 demographic – Nine's declared preferred demographic – that rose to 47.2 per cent. But for those who delight in comparisons between codes, the AFL edged out the rugby league in terms of ratings. On a national audience basis (capital city plus regional viewers), Saturday's AFL grand final between the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn drew an average of 3.95 million viewers for Channel Seven. That number climbed to 4.16 million for the post-match presentation. So does Adam Goodes retire now and go out on top? Or does he go through a painful rehab process to come back next season?

Not sure about Jude, real possibility that it could be it for him, and he's been an absolute club legend. Goodesy? No way, he will definitely be back, has a couple of years left in him. Could've given it away if our premiership window was closing, but it's really only just opened.

But will he get another serious chance to be involved? I mean he won't be at his best next season because of this injury and he'll be 34 the season after...

Quote:Secret deals rife in AFL by: Jesper Fjeldstad From: Sunday Mail (SA) October 27, 2012 11:30PM GENTLEMEN'S agreements, side deals, "understandings" and secret extra to contracts are rife within the AFL, senior figures told the Sunday Mail. The key is to keep it vague and not put anything in writing. The administrators, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said it was common for clubs to agree that they would endeavour to help a player move back to his home state at the end of his contract - should he so desire. Clubs also made assertions they would help out with the players' leadership training, work outside of the game and other similar incentives that could sway them to remain with the club. The main thing was not to put it in writing. A senior figure at one club said another key was to promise to try, and mean it, but that it was fraught with danger to guarantee an outcome that could ultimately be out of the club's control. The greatest fear was the "please explain" letters from Ken Wood, the AFL's chief investigator, which often ended with the phrase: "Please respond in writing by (a certain date)." "When that happens, you've got nowhere to hide," the official said. It was this scenario, well known to clubs, that had clubs baffled over the Kurt Tippett scandal. Had the league acted sooner on the widespread speculation of an "exit clause" for Tippett with one of the "please explain" letters, the affair could have been closed before the Crows' confession brought it to a head - when there were only days left in the trade period. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/afl/secret-deals-rife-in-afl/story-e6frexwr-1226504551979

Personally enjoyed this free agency/trade affair, player movement is rare in the game and the off season lacks excitement like a football off season full of transfer sagas.
Enjoyed it even more as a Collingwood fan, got Llynch to play the Brown role which Dawes struggled with, got a quality compensation for Dawes, I always was a Wellingham fan but we got a very generous compensation and replaced him with a bloke just as good if not better, plus we have three consecutive first round picks.
Excited to see how Young goes for us tbh, think he is the exact sort of player we need to improve the side as we really missed a player with a booming kick who can run things forward with a bit of pace, add in picks 18,19,20 and things are looking up imo.

I fail to see how any of those things mentioned are a bad thing. As long as they're not offering additional cash incentives or the like, it's not a big deal.

Quote:Saints terminate Gram's contract DateOctober 30, 2012 - 8:28PM St Kilda has sacked Jason Gram after the defender was arrested and charged by police. Gram was already on indefinite club suspension when the latest incident occurred, which has prompted the Saints to terminate the playing contract of the player. "Following the breakdown of a personal relationship, Gram failed to honour repeated undertakings to the club concerning his behavior," a statement from St Kilda read. “St Kilda Football Club has been working with Gram for a number of months on this issue in an attempt to ensure his behaviour appropriately reflected the values shared across the club and to assist with the management of his personal welfare. “The club recognises that Jason’s conduct has been of a non-violent nature.” Gram was arrested on Monday night, charged and appeared in the Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning. The AFL has been informed of the situation and has supported the club’s position. Police confirmed this morning that a man was arrested and charged and was remanded into custody. Gram wore a black suit and an open-neck shirt in court and had his head in his hands for much of his appearance. His manager, Tom Petroro, said Gram was tired, nervous and possibly depressed after his night in the cell. He appeared in the Moorabbin Magistrates Court today and has been granted bail to reappear on November 22. With Jared Lynch Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/saints-terminate-grams-contract-20121030-28gun.html#ixzz2AmAFXGCA
