More as it comes to hand
Really ? havent seen anything in the media about this.... Of course it wasn't in the news. Hearing that there was just a verbal altercation, after which the 2 female Port supporters involved claimed that one of the male Adelaide supporters hit one of them, despite no physical contact at all. And, as is the case in today's world, social media heard about a man hitting a woman and went with it, despite no proof whatsoever. Eyewitnesses were claiming he punched the woman. I wasn't there so I can't say. A women who claimed to see it posted a picture on twitter of him being kicked out didnt something like this happen at a crows game about 5 months ago or so? Not sure, It happened at the dockers, and it also happened at a bulldogs game in Vic (that was more people punching on and a sheila got hurt) if it happened at crows game I'd love a link i was thinking about 2 incidents the dockers one and this for some reason i thought they were the same incident battle of the bridge is on today, who's excited? really? no one? the whole world is talking about this great and not totally ridiculous rivalry, the giants have prepared their 5 fans and are ready to take over that bridge Edited by swarth: 9/4/2016 09:19:58 AM

What is more concerning is how this is happening more often, and how its become affiliated with the afl or 'australian' sports its that "silent majority" in parts of Australia that arent sydney where the fear of the melting pot australia, where afl is 'its great if its that the kind of thing youre into' breeds discontent.

They are racist nutjobs who believe anything they do is justified based on their loony paranoid beliefs and race/ethnic-based conspiracy theories (no different to the terrorists in that regard). He's a typical Jew-hating neo-nazi low-life (he wants portraits of Adolf Hitler in Australian school classrooms) who is using "reclaim Australia" rallies and anti-mosque banners at big AFL games to attract media attention to himself and their neo-nazi group. The AFL and stadium management have every legal right to throw that hate-speech trash out of their grounds. If the four idiots refuse police orders then they will be hand-cuffed and escorted out like any other protestor(s) who ignore or resist police orders to leave.

For what its worth, the chances of finding these neo nazists/ rednecks and hicks will be higher in the crowd/ the mob at these afl / nrl games compared to an actual mosque HOWEVER, (on a modular level) we have more in common with these afl fans, and they would have a drink with us compared to the followers of the prophet. Another part of the argument: the idea that football is religion... :-k

Absolutely shattered one of the most eloquent and well respected players in the afl. Bulldogs are a sight to behold took it to the reigning premiers . Also north melbourne nearly gave all my north melbourne supporters freinds heart attacks

What's even worse is the injury gave Hawthorn a chance at a goal that they didn't even deserve :( Dogs should have had a free kick 30 seconds before that 30m out :( Fucking Hawthorn.

Football can be so cruel. Hopefully Bob recovers fully. Please do traditional not LARS.
As an Essendon supporter we know the reality is games won this year will be few and far if any left now. I enjoy watching the dogs play. Really enjoy their style.
The way they play reminds me of when Matty Knights coached us. Bloke was ahead of the times and got sacked the rest is history.

I can't watch AFL until the EPL and A-League seasons are over. I find it way too frustrating and can't appreciate the skill of the players until there is nothing better to watch on TV (sports wise). It's good to see the Swannies going strong though!

Trying to work out where the Crows are at this year. When Danger left I was very pessimistic, plus we have a relatively hard draw.
But I have been impressed with our wins over Port and Richmond. But I don't know exactly how much can be read into those results.
Next 2 games - Swans at home and then Hawks away. I think these games will give me a better indication of where we are at!

You would have arguably the best forward set up. We've got more balance in midfield IMO, Dangerfield got a lot of the ball but his disposal often frustrated me. We seem to play a very open game, conceding a lot of points too and I agree Swans and Hawks will be a real test of where we are really at.

Question for the old time Aussie rules fans from the southern states with all the talk about Extra time in the Grand final. I understand its only happened three times in grand finals where its ended in a draw. No one has mentioned if there has been draws in the finals over the years? Did they have replays also?

Drawn regular finals go into extra time. Before the rule change there were 3 methods for draws Regular season= Draw Finals= Extra Time Grand Final= Replay

Since then it has yet to occur. There's some debate as to how the score should be settled after extra time. Pretty sure the AFL is going with golden point, I feel it should be next goal wins. Unlike the NRL, where every 2nd game is close. AFL games are never close, so its a moot point Although the supporters are worse in the afl when they lose the close games.

So this football kid killed, tragic story and RIP, truly shocking. But early reports said this was two Aussie rules clubs fighting (he was innocent party to it all it seems), with guys from Diamond Creek FC saying 'this is our piss hole'. Anyone know if that's the case? If it's true, why no further media mention of that. Imagine if that was two soccer clubs. And if it is true that's the second Aussie rules related killing in recently.

I'm by no means an AFL fan but I'll watch the occasional game on TV and always make sure to watch the Grand Final - and I think it's pretty disappointing that they're getting rid of replays. The last five minutes of the 2010 GF, for example, would be the most exciting moments of Aussie Rules that I've seen because the prospect of a draw (and thus a third variable outcome) was very real. They're such rare occurrences anyway, they might as well keep them.
And if you're going to get rid of them surely it should be golden goal rather than golden point... Sometime in the 2030s a GF will be decided by an innocuous behind and the backlash against that kind of anticlimactic ending will be even worse than after the 2010 draw.

OMFG how the fuck do Hawthron get a free kick 30m out with 30 seconds to go?
Softest free kick ever.
Disgraceful.
That's 2 out of their last 3 they've won with a dodgy free kick.
