I can't stand them but Manly not getting a home final is a joke. Manly play ever single one of their home games at Brookvale and the NRL don't even consider this. The SFS might as well be Souths Home Ground and it might as well be an away game. NRL need to stop this dick measuring contest with the AFL and just accept that Suburban grounds are an enjoyed part of the game.

Agreed. Maybe move the prelim, but to take it away from Brooky week 1 is an absolute joke.
Was nice to win the minor premiership and even better to get a good win over souths, but this week showed we probably can't win it without Jake Friend. If he's not the backup to Cam Smith in the Australian team then I'll give up on footy. Would like to thank Laurie Daley for dropping Pearcey from origin, because he's in career best form and can't help but think that's helped him, especially looking at how awful the dogs halves have been the second half of the season.
Should be a great finals series. The dogs and broncos are the only two you could rule out at the moment. Manly and Penrith might struggle with their injuries though. One things for sure and that's Ivan Cleary absolutely has to win coach of the year. They're everyone's second team at the moment.

Congrats to the chooks - their form the last weeks have been perfect timing. Never expected us eagles getting up last week - just glad we survived a pretty heavy last month tbh finishing 2nd ! Good to see the qld teams knocking themselves out coming up - their can be only 1 and thruston will make sure of it once again for broncs don't deserve being there at all. What a finish the dogs titans game was - great viewing as a neutral. Tips for the coming finals Eagles :d in a upset ! Chooks Cowboys Storm

Amazing to think that now either Penrith or the dogs are a red hot chance to play in the GF.

-PB I swear Wk2 finals used to be always determined by highest ranked vs lowest ranked ie Roosters V Dogs & Manly V Cowboys. Winner of Roo v Dogs would go on to play Souths & Winner of Man v Cow would play Penrith. :-k

It works of the assumption that the higher ranked team will win. So in theory Penrith have replaced the Roosters as the highest rank team by winning the toughest game of week 1 (away to the 1 ranked team). So now they've earned the right to the lower ranked half of the draw. Is amazing to think that the form the Roosters, Rabbits and Cowboys with the form they have shown lately will knock each other out before the GF. Whoever qualifies from that half of the draw will be favourites in the GF

I know how it works PB just thought w2 finals were different in the past. Must've been thinking of the QCUP.
Speaking of the QCup someone needs to give the Walker brothers a gig in the NRL, Ipswich play some fantastic football.

Yep today's game was great to watch. Really entertaining footy. Wynnum V Easts should be a cracker again. Really interested to see the QCUP vs NSW Cup premiers game on grand final day

Can't believe its ten years since the great Burleigh and Easts grand final.
From memory it was Steve Renouf's last ever game as well. =d>

Wish the refs would stop blowing silly penalties. Please get rid of Fittler. Crowd is shithouse. Cowboys right edge is horrendous.

Robbed, over this shit. I wouldn't be against us QLD clubs (& any who would want to be apart of it) forming a splinter competition.

I reckon the refs are on the take. The Roosters get all the favourable calls from the refs.
The NRL is a joke.

People need to stop complaining about the last no try, referees got that one right. The real robbery was the Minichiello obstruction 25m out from the Roosters line and the Roosters penalty for SBW dropping the ball cold which led to the field goal.

Yep, watching it as a neutral I thought they made the right call too with that one at the end. Feel for the Cowboys though, especially with some of the other calls. We showed that at our best no team can get near us, but our worst is very, very bad. Call me crazy but I'm thinking dogs-roosters gf at the moment

The ref had to be able to prove 100% that the ball didn't go forward, which he obviously couldn't. That's what pisses me off with this new system we've seen it couple of times now. When an incident is close to the line like a potential knock on or obstruction this yes no thing is fine but once something happens 30 metres away from the tryline its ridiculous. The ref saw the incident ruled play on and we've seen an extended piece of play after it and the cowboys scored why has he then ruled no try? Because the refs are too gutless to make a match defining call and are using the system as a safety blanket, which is wrong.
