Kamaryn wrote:Brisbane are playing scarily good atm. I couldn't imagine anyone beating them if they keep this up. Yea some great play from us. Need to get rid of those basic mistakes and complete our sets. Not sin binning guys for professional fouls is a disgrace. A penalty is not good enough it robs us of a huge chance to score and they get to set there defence again. :x

Are they? Probably for the best, only good for television Yeah, they're gonna have Thursday night games instead. The idea was to play games on smaller grounds on the monday nights because its good for tv, and the onus is not too much on the stadium to be filled. Belmore for example. Thursday nights? This looks dreadful! Yup. Why they continue with Thursdays and Mondays really is beyond me. -PB Monday nights are still good for suburban grounds, get to the ground if people are in the area, people at the pub watching it after work? Win Win Thursday nights= shopping

Souths look cooked. Brisbane played some good footy but it's hard to forget last week they couldn't beat a 14 man Roosters team who lost its two best players early.
As much as I think the Dogs might win the comp, this week is a major danger game for them. Anyone who has ever been to old boys day in Newcastle knows just how special the atmosphere is.

Anyone who has ever been to old boys day in Newcastle knows just how special the atmosphere is. that was away from home against a form team on a very long winning streak winning streaks usually don't last that long in rugby league as teams run out of steam eventually. I think roosters have peaked too early broncos have had their post origin blues but have been improving each week. They are looking onimous. If they win next week they will have to win two finals at home - always a fortress and they never lose grand finals. I'm putting there chances at 1 in 3 at the moment the only thing lacking in their game is an ability to dominate territory. They struggle to stop other teams go forward and they often don't get enough metres on their 5th tackle plays (their 5th tackle attacking plays are good though)

Last night was the 3rd highest rating game of the season.
And people wonder why the NRL wants Thursday night games.

And the Roosters have only peaked because our two best players are injured  Without JWH and Pearce I would've probably had the Broncos as favorites IF Josh Maguire was fit. IMO he's as big a loss for them as JWH is for us. The thing in the Broncos favour is that they did extra fitness in training after the origin period, knowing they could afford to lose a couple of games.

The last few weeks there has been impressive improvement and I'm wondering if last night was the suddenly how long is Josh Macguire out?

So Luke takes the early guilty plea and will miss 2 games. So unless Souths win in week 1 of the finals or make the top 4 he's played his last game for the club.
Sutton also out for the season with a fractured fibula. Season done.

Far too much running sideways and trying to put on fancy decoy plays by Manly tonight.
