Happy enough that Morris probably won't play Origin and so won't miss any Dogs games, not happy that Jackson and Klemmer will. That's about where my interest in the joke that is State of Origin ends.

I'm reminded why origin is so shit, I can't think of any other sport/league that would compromise one third of their season like we do.

It's a joke and the reason I just don't care about it anymore. I'd be a happy man if Origin fucked off and was never seen again.

and each year (for as long as I've been watching the game) we tend to be the worst effected, there have been times we've had 13 guys playing origin ffs.

Not as much as they used to.

Some do get riled up and treat it like the NRL want us to believe it should be treated, but I think most people see it for the nuisance it is.

Highest rating (or very nearly) sporting event in Australia would suggest you're speaking for yourself.

People seeing it as a nuisance doesn't mean they don't watch it. I mean I care very little for it but I'll still watch it mostly because it's entertaining.

Most people would rather it be on a stand alone weekend that doesn't fuck clubs over, but unfortunately that will never happen. It being popular doesn't mean it's not a joke that a sport completely derails it's premier competition right in the middle of the season for a 3 game series.

The thing about origin is it brings a higher level standard of the game, best vs the best, like an all star game, but with blood and tears on the line which makes it a unique experience (as opposed to an nba all star game). It breaks the monotony of club vs club for 20 odd weeks

This game is boring and NSW are trying to milk penalties constantly. Useless.

State of Origin is generally a cagey affair, its not going to be free-flowing attacking football if every point is worth its weight in gold.

QLD would win easily in a free-flowing open game.
