Felt he was mismanaged a bit by Merrick last year. There's a player in there. His end-product wasn't up to scratch last year, but I'd take him over some of our attacking options (especially since we lost Champness).

Central Coast Mariners trial former Newcastle Jets striker JairThe F3 derby is set for added spice, with Newcastle Jets cast-off Jair close to signing for Central Coast. It’s understood the Brazilian striker trained with the Mariners on Monday as part of a fitness assessment that, if successful, could culminate in an A-League contract with his former club’s fierce rivals. That would mean a fifth and final foreigner for Alen Stajcic, and one the coach will hope can start finishing the chances his new-look squad have been creating. Jair signed with the Jets last September but struggled for fitness and took a decent proportion of the campaign to get going, despite showing flashes of potential. Last season he scored two goals from 20 appearances, including 16 starts. However the 31-year-old was often played on the left wing, with Roy O’Donovan preferred up top and Jason Hoffman preferred in the No.9 role while the Irishman served his lengthy early season suspension. He was among six players released by the Jets at the end of last season after Ernie Merrick’s men missed out on the finals. The Mariners are hoping Jair, who spent much of his career in the K-League, is a ready-made striker for a Mariners side showing more pluck but still struggling for goals. Stajcic’s side have scored two from two games this season, both courtesy of Serbian midfielder Milan Duric, from a total 18 shots (eight on target). It comes as the Jets prepare to travel to Leichhardt Oval on Friday to face reigning champions Sydney FC, who’ll be out to right last weekend’s derby loss to Western Sydney. “Sydney’s a top team,” Merrick said. “They’ve proved it over the last couple of years and retained most of their players."“So it’s going to be a tough one but the Wanderers beat them and I think that’s the way this season’s going to go."“There’s no one team … anyone can take points from anyone else and we’ve got to back ourselves to beat any team we’re up against.”

Why would Nash be going to Sydney if they already have Crawley?
To be assistant GK coach?

Think Crawley would have done wonders with gauci but he's gone. Maybe they bring in majak? W.U also need a 3rd choice.

Good to see the CCM thread resurrected.
They have received far too much animosity from supporters of other clubs.

Yeah he was really bad, improved no one bar Izzo who you could argue Nash had no real role in improving him. Has basically been in charge of our goalkeeper recruiting and it's hard to see a decision he has gotten right or a player he has improved.

Poor Sydney. He was apparently an ordinary coach.

Matt Nash is finally gone, how he has lasted this long when he personally stuck his neck out to get Necevski and Kennedy I will never know.

+x+x+xSo we’ve got 14 players currently contracted. If De Silva and Buhagiar depart as is expected, we’ll be down to 12.Mulvey has some serious recruiting to do. We only have 10 players contracted for next season. If De Silva and Buhagiar go we’ll be down to 8. I'm not taking DDS and Trent going as a given as SBS and the Covert Agent rarely get anything right about the Mariners. It may happen but a broken watch is also right twice a day. Are you sure? This Golec re-signing article from today lists 14 players: https://www.ccmariners.com.au/news/antony-golec-commits-marinersCentral Coast Mariners SquadGoalkeepers: Adam PEARCE, Ben KENNEDY Defenders: Alan BARO, Antony GOLEC, Jake McGING, Kye ROWLES Midfielders: Adam BERRY, Wout BRAMA, Tom HIARIEJ, Jacob MELLING, Danny De SILVA Attackers: Trent BUHAGIAR, Andrew HOOLE, Connor PAIN Yes Pearce, Rowles, Pain and Melling are off contract 31/5/2018. Some of them may be re-signed but at this stage they are not contracted for next season.

I REALLY hope Mulvey signs a new #1 GK. Kennedy simply isn’t up to it. He’s in the Necevski category of a GK who should be a career #2.
