So we’ve got 14 players currently contracted.
If De Silva and Buhagiar depart as is expected, we’ll be down to 12.
Mulvey has some serious recruiting to do.

Yep that looks right Pv4, rumors that Appiah-Kubi and Galloway will be re-signed with Poscoliero rumored to being going to Perth or Newcastle. Faty and Tavares are definitely gone, just not officially yet. Adelson and Neill are most likely gone as well but once again not official yet.

Obviously doesn't have Ferreira's flair but the portugese is too much of a liability in defence. Impact player off the bench for mine. I would say Storm will struggle this year, most players do after an injury like the one he had. I think a mixture of Buhagiar and Ferriera at Right Wing would do the trick ( if we can somehow convince Fabio to defend). Even Jose failed at that True - wouldn't be surprised if Bingers plays RW and Fab comes on as an impact player at either LW or RW.

Hoping more than believing we will go well. We desperately need a quality number 10. Any marquee fund players out there that the FFA would be willing to provide us with? Best I can think of is Holman though he will probably end up at a club who will actually put out the cash for him. My best XI for round one so far would probably be: Necevski Roux (Adelson if injured) Faty Ascroft Neil Montgomery Tavares Liam Rose Ferriera O'Donovan Pain

So membership drive has started with optimism as usual. Great to hear about Umbro taking over from the disaster that was KAPPA (just one of the many issues club management need to reflect on hard). Yet we have signed 3 ex Shitney FC players and then 1 home game in first 7 rounds. Totally uninspiring. How the hell do we bring the crowds back?????????????????????

The kid does have something about him, but his highlights a few and far between. Game against Sydney FC didn't even know he was on park until he got a yellow in the second half. BTW...he turns 19 today i think.

And sold Caceres.
One of the biggest midseasons for a club but is the club in better shape? We seem to be on the field. Garcia seems to have given the team a boost and all accounts I have heard is that the team are hugely motivated with him around. But it may also be because we are learning how to defend better. There have been signs in the last 2-3 games that possession is more of a priority. I thought Storm Roux's goal at the weekend was one of the best we've scored this season because the lead up play involved us holding the ball and being intelligent about it, then pouncing when the opportunity arose. Josh Bingham looks like an elegant player who offers more up front than O'Donovan and can link play very well. Liam Rose was actually excellent at the weekend. Austin is growing in confidence and Fabio seems to like the competition. We're progressing after a pretty disasterous first half of the season. RedShirtWilly makes a good point about next season, but for now, we can't really look past the next game (football cliche #27). I can't wait to play Sydney again.

Loaned Kalik now too.
If Bray was in goals (hell even Heward-Belle) and with Garcia finally giving us something in midfield, we're definitely in better shape.
Question is what happens if Garcia and Ferreira leave at the end of the season?

Birnie Ibini didn't have one either and that didn't stop him from going to play in Belgium.

The drama of this mole business aside, I think I can see the method behind this so-called 'offensive doctrine' madness at your club? I know this is contrary to football purists, but for wider appeal we've all noted at times how people respond to the 'excitement' of high-scoring games and during the A-League's earlier heyday for crowds, especially at clubs like Mariners (Averaging over 12k season 2/3), that was back when clubs like the Mariners, Roar (Averaging 16k or so) and some others were involved in some of those high-scoring results.
Games where it's 3-2 or even 5-4 etc... they are defensive disasters for coaches and football purists, but the mainstream press and casual fans, they call it 'exciting' and indeed it makes for plenty of goal-scoring highlights for the reels, sports bulletins etc... Casual folks, sports fans, they rightly or wrongly, want to see goals and so the Mariners seeking to actively pursue that kind of football to improve their business, metrics, other areas - fair play? It doesn't have to be entirely contrary to results either - if you guys can be potent enough at home to out-score opponents to secure the result too, then it could be a real winner for your club and the league? :-k
Infact I think some casuals, mainstream, may miss that about the A-League, so your club bringing that novel approach - may be interesting to see how viewers, fans, coverage/press etc respond?

From Sam Djodan (NBN television): Quote:CCM and FFA have launched joint investigation after tactics were leaked before SFC game. Leadership group called for phones to be handed in, "line in the sand" style. NOT management or MC. Majority of group have agreed https://twitter.com/samdjodan/status/666410462100123649
