How does Gwelup Croatia possibly pass the NCIP?

Should be interesting to see what the FFA does on this one.

It's amazing how many people here bring up the NCIP without ever having read it or at least understanding it.
Gwelup Croatia fully comply with the NCIP. They are an existing club, with existing colours and emblems. They are not a newly created club, nor are they proposing to change their name or emblems.

I think the NCIP also applies to NPL clubs. So should they get promoted they'd have to change

Even though Perth have been a bit inconsistent this season, it is hard to see Gwelup getting past them. Massive gap in quality between Perth and Mandurah. Will be a good physical match though and would expect to see a very competitive Steve McGarry set the tone early.

How does one pronounce 'Gwelup'?

I presume it's 'Gwe' (as in Gwen i.e. Gwen Stefani), and 'lup' as in the New Zealand pronunciation of 'lap '.

Or is it 'Gwe' as in 'G-we'and 'lup', pronouncing the 'U' as a 'oo' sound?

Croatia is clearly pronounce 'Craysha'.

Da Luz Shoots Azzurri To Next Round
Tweet
Heather Miller | June 02, 2015, 12:00 PM | GUARDIAN EXPRESS

MIDFIELDER Aden Da Luz continued his stellar weekend of football, scoring the winning goal in Monday’s FFA Cup WA quarter-final against Subiaco AFC.
Perth SC progressed into the semi finals of the WA section following the 1-0 win at Dorrien Gardens and are now just one win away from making the FFA Cup's nationwide round of 32.
The winning shot came in the 82nd minute following a corner from Mark Pritchard, where Da Luz was able to strike and put the Azzurri on the board.
Perth SC dominated the match and had multiple opportunities, but found the vital goal elusive until deep into the match.
Dean Evans had the first opportunity in the eight minutes, volleying over the bar from inside the six-yard box.
Nick Ambrogio also fired over the bar on the half-hour mark after getting on the end of Josh Wilkins' cross.
Scoreless at the half-time break, Perth SC continued the pressure in the second half, with Da Luz shooting just wide.
Substitute Carlo Coelho came on for the Azzurri with 20 minutes remaining and had an immediate impact, his shot well saved by Subiaco keeper Ryan Montgomery before captain Clark Keltie blasted the rebound over the bar.
Fellow substitute Harley Orr broke free in the 81st minute, and his strike brought out a strong save from Montgomery, winning an important corner.
Subiaco failed to clear the resulting corner from Pritchard and were duly punished by Da Luz's strike.
Coach Taki Nicolaidis said the boys knew how important it was to win.
“There was a lot at stake,” he said.
“For our guys, we want to make it to the next round and make it into the last 32.
“We let ourselves down in the first half, not finishing in front of goal, so we sent a message at half time telling the boys to take a bit more time and concentrate on the ball.
“The second half gave us more chances and we took them, Aden had a great finish in the end.”
Nicolaidis said moving into the next round was exciting.
“We were knocked out of the cup in the first round last year,” he said.
“We want to make sure we get into the finals, from the club's point of view, and be amongst the top few in the league, and that’s what the boys are working towards.
“I’m so pleased with our win and also for Aden who is on top of the world right now, scoring a winning goal in the quarter final to take the team into the semi final - which is technically a grand final for us, so yes it’s extremely exciting and we can’t wait for the next round.”
Perth SC will wait to draw Gwelup CSC, Sorrento FC or Bayswater City in the semi finals on Saturday June 20.

Unfortunately the game tonight has been postponed due to an international clearance issue which is still under investigation. Our club and it's administration have followed the correct process in dealing with this issue but have been let down by a system error, we have done nothing wrong. Because the FFA cup is a national competition the situation is magnified and decisions can't be made quickly. As soon as we hear more information we will let you know.

Today is the day, We have our hearing tonight regarding the international clearance issue and our FFA cup fate, so hopefully we will get a decision tonight and hopefully it's a decision in our favour. It's been a long week and a bit of not knowing, but we are fully prepared and ready for this hearing. I would like to say we are confident but you just never know with football Queensland and the FFA. What ever happens tonight, the club will still be here , the players will still be here and the supporters will still be here.

Kawana FC (SC) to play Sunshine Coast Fire. The winner to play United Warriors FC (Hervey Bay) away.
The winner from that match to the winner from South West Queensland Thunder (Toowoomba) v Palm Beach Sharks (GC) for FFA Cup spot.

What it sounds like to me if that they did the right thing and sent in for clearance. But because of a system error the clearance didnt go through. They then chose to play a player anyway before getting the all clear. Its harsh, but I think they should be disqualified. If the player had not been cleared yet then he should not of played, regardless of how long they waited.

Lessons learnt for WFC despite cup loss

FOOTBALL: It was not the result they were after but Saturday's FFA Cup loss to Frenchville was an eye-opener for the Whitsunday Football Club.

WFC lost 1-0 at the Whitsunday Sportspark, ending their impressive FFA Cup journey, which saw them qualify as the top-ranked Mackay team.

Although it will go down as a loss, WFC football manager Anthony Nobilia said the club was richer for the experience.

"I think the whole club learnt from it. No one at the club has ever played at that level before," he said.

"It's a good learning curve. We've been discussing it and it's going to teach us for future years."

The Rockhampton-based team scored the decisive goal early in the first half but the game was turned on its head when a Frenchville player was given his marching orders following a professional foul in the box.

"That actually saved them," Nobilia said of the foul.

"He actually saved the ball with his hand, which is a red card offence.

"We missed the penalty that ensued so effectively he saved them by handballing.

"Had we scored that penalty it would've been a different story."

Despite that miss WFC could not make the most of the numerical advantage on the field, settling for a brave 1-0 loss.

Nobilia said it was frustrating that the team could not find the back of the net but paid credit to the determined Frenchville outfit that lifted in the face of adversity.

"The measure of the best teams is the fact they can score against a team with one man down," he said.

"A one man down team usually plays 10 men at 110% ... 10 men play that little bit

extra."

SCOREBOARD

Frenchville def WFC 1-0

Questions over Bates bungle By CRAIG KERRY June 3, 2015, 10:33 p.m.

CHARLESTOWN president Shane Tull says he is concerned about the integrity of the Northern NSW National Premier League and FFA Cup after the Guy Bates registration debacle, while Maitland counterpart Chris Rafferty will seek further explanation about the bungle from the governing body.

The two club bosses told the Herald they would contact Northern NSW Football about the revelation on Friday that Bates had played seven NPL matches and two FFA Cup games for Adamstown without securing an international transfer clearance.

NNSWF came across the discrepancy when asked about a clearance for Bates, who was set to return to Northern Ireland after round 12 of the NPL.

A NNSWF investigation found it had incorrectly issued Adamstown a registration for Bates.

It also found a help-desk person had earlier misdirected Bates through Football Federation Australia's online MyFootball player registration process.

Bates and Adamstown were cleared of any wrongdoing and not penalised, but the former Jets striker was removed from the Rosebud roster.

The Englishman joined Adamstown this season from Northern Ireland first-division club Glenavon, where he remains contracted.

Rafferty said he would write to NNSWF "to seek further explanation" about the registration bungle.

Bates scored and set up Rosebud's two other goals in a 3-1 win over Maitland in round six.

The Magpies are squarely in the relegation mix, sitting second-last on four points after eight rounds.

"On the face of it, it doesn't look like a satisfactory outcome," Rafferty said.

"It could definitely have a negative impact on us in a potential relegation battle.

"We are definitely going to seek an explanation and get to the bottom of it.

"I need to know the details about how it all came about, because I do the registrations for Maitland, I know how the system works and I can't understand how it could have slipped through the cracks."

Tull said while Adamstown were not to blame for the mess, the integrity of the NPL and FFA Cup was in question.

Ironically, last-placed Charlestown's only NPL win came against Bates and Adamstown. However, a Bates-inspired Rosebud did knock Charlestown out of the FFA Cup.

"By anyone's reckoning Adamstown have fielded an illegal player for seven NPL games and two FFA Cup games, and whether it's FFA's or Northern's fault, this could affect relegation, the finals or the premiership," Tull said.

He did not believe Adamstown should lose points but said "there should be no negative outcomes for any club as a by-product of a mistake by FFA or Northern NSW Football".

Hamilton president George Sofianos said his club needed to have further talks about the issue but "what happened is not right". Olympic had a 2-2 draw with Adamstown.

"It's against all the regulations Northern have put into place, and they were the ones telling us we had to make sure everyone is cleared," Sofianos said. "Yet there has been an error somewhere that has been costly to a few clubs.

"It shouldn't happen and there has to be some sort of discussion with Northern on how this happened and why."

South Cardiff president James Masters, whose side lost 3-0 to a Bates-less Rosebud last Saturday, said his club "was happy to let it slide".

"By everything we were told, Adamstown had done everything they were instructed to do and the mistake was beyond their control," Masters said.

Broadmeadow president Steve Foteff said it was a mess but Adamstown had received written approval from NNSWF for Bates to play and "all clubs would proceed with that in a position of comfort".

Like Tull, Foteff hoped the oversight would not impact clubs at either end of the table, as was the case in FFA's finals ban on salary cap cheats Perth Glory.

"At the end of the day we'd all like to ensure this doesn't affect the finals series or relegation-promotion," Foteff said. "And that's what FFA sought to do with Perth, to ensure they finished in no-man's land. That's the ideal situation and what should happen, but how do you do that?"

Edgeworth secretary Trevor Van Kemenade said his club had not discussed the issue.

Lambton Jaffas football manager Chris Sneddon said he "sympathises with clubs who had dropped points to Adamstown, like we did, but it is what it is".

"Hopefully it doesn't impact on anyone, especially in relegation or the finals series," Sneddon said.

Weston football manager Shane Johnson could see no other outcome than the course taken by NNSWF.

"From the evidence presented, Adamstown haven't done anything wrong, so I don't see how you can take any points off them," Johnson said.

"We've got more reason to complain than the rest of them because they knocked us out of the FFA Cup 6-0 and we had a 0-0 draw with them first NPL game.

"It's not acceptable what's happened. Poor administration has allowed this to happen and clubs have been affected, but you can't take points off Northern or fine them."

FFA Cup update
Dear all club members and facebook friends, we just wanted to give you all our version of whats been happening over the past few weeks. Today we were found guilty by Football Queensland of playing an ineligible player in the FFA cup game against Noosa which we won 5-1. They did however drop the charge of us, Amy, altering the system to allow this player to play. I guess this is one positive to come out of today's events because it proves the fact that we know we have done nothing wrong and that we have been let down by the system. We have not stop making this statement throughout the whole process and we now feel at peace with this part of the findings. What this finding fails to inform us is how this has been allowed to happen. If the system didn't fail then how can we have been able to make the player active. If the system was working then this sort of thing could never of happened. I and everyone else i've spoken with today is completely confused as to why are we being blamed for something we had no control of. Our next step is to lodge an appeal which we have 7 days to do. I know that the players and staff involved are very disappointed they don't get a chance continue playing in the FFA cup and no one is more disappointed than me because at the end of the day the buck stops with me and i feel so bad that my mates don't get this chance. The reason for the appeal is to clear our name and our reputation and integrity. For me they game against the fire has passed but the system is still faulty and i would hate for this to happen again to us or anyone else. I just wouldn't feel right if i just let it stop here. I would like to thank everyone for their patients and support during this process, its been hard on me and my family but we know we didn't do anything wrong and we will continue to fight to clear our name.
