I don't follow Kurz's thinking in this match against Adelaide. He has Ola, Nabbout and Kruse at his disposal yet he does not play one of them as an Attacking Midfielder. The Midfield started with Basha, Lauton and Broxham. Elvis came on later for Lauton, who was quite effective Elvis should have gone to the Wing. Victory could have had Kruse or Nabbout as AM, or Ola as AM, with Nabbout as Striker. Not creative enough, higher up in the midfield atm.

Brown playing that far forward early in the first half should be reason enough to sack Kurz.

Still think brown in a better option then elvis.  Brown has at least some idea of what a cross is, i don't think elvis has ever seen anyone do one.  Honestly think if Leandro Love got as many opportunities as elvis does he'd be a club legend.

Looks like the Academy is dead:

Victory's $18m training park plan kicked into touch by community panel

A contentious proposal by the country's biggest soccer club to convert a section of Footscray Park into an $18 million training facility appears doomed after a specially-appointed advisory panel unanimously voted against it.

Following months of bitter argument over the public value of Melbourne Victory’s proposal, the panel chosen by Maribyrnong Council concluded on Friday that the facility was a “private business operation” that would unduly benefit the club more than it would the community.

The Council initially wasn't hostile, but then a half dozen locals with a hashtag questioned where their dogs would shit once the facility is built.

Didnt the state government sack the only visibly functional geelong council lead by darryn Lyons because of alleged bullying and other such things... so essentially the same as any other council.

Just got emailed a "2 for 1" GA ticket offer, good initiative from the club. Probably expecting a low crowd after the recent disappointing performances.

Of course it will benefit the club that’s the whole point of building the facility.

look I understand it is a land grab and good on victory for giving it ago.

what they should have done is spend a couple of million more upgrading the open land further down the river the dog walkers and build a Pavillon and suburban ground for community use.

i work for another council and build over see sport ground construction for a a few hundred thousand you can get a first grade suburban pitch built this would have had the council and community inside and shown they are giving back to the community.

all it would have been was $750,000 more to upgrade parks, put in a new cricket/AFL oval and a small multi use pavilion for all community groups to enjoy and they would have got away with it.
this could have been built a few hundred meters down the other end of the park.

Just looked on the Ticketek website and seating map and they are opening the Gary Ablett Terrace for the travelling fans.

Vuck fans in a proper terrace on an away day is tasty.

Holy shit thats a new one. The Cops and seccos have always guarded the Gary Ablett Terrace like crazy to stop anyone getting in because heaven forbid soccer fans are standing WITHOUT a chair behind them!!!!

Anyone who buys a more expensive active ticket to see even less is kidding themselves, that terrace is going to get swamped match day by everyone who has ever travelled down to geelong before.
