Looks like we'll see some of the kids at least get a run off the bench this weekend. Expecting to start like this: Thomas Geria - Williams - Donachie - Broxham Valeri - Sanchez Ingham - George - Austin Berisha

+xCorey Brown on the move South? Roars players' player of the year last year? with one year left on his contract? With 2 weeks to the season start? Having been an ever present in pre-season?? .... that has to be the worst rumour ever or Aloisi will have a lot of explaining to do lol The january transfer window opens up in about 10-12 weeks, he could be signing then. Brown is probably the best Australian LB in the HAL but not yet good enough to go overseas. where do Roar plays go when they're not good enough for overseas - to the vuck

Bowles and Avraam are both back in full training and will play in tomorrow's internal friendly. Particularly impressed with Bowles coming back so soon, hope its not too early.

+xWaz Just thinking the same re pillaging tards , that's why we have to keep an eye on their thread , lolCan't see either Brown or O'Toole leaving or been allowed to leave , we are pretty lean at the back with Bowles and Avaram still out , only leaves us with Jack Jade Luke Corey Jai Ingam ?? Conor O'Toole Both Ingam and O'Toole are 6ft + so could provide CB cover also we have young Aaron Reardon and Pepper .........,,, Speaking of stealing players.....?

Hey Jonsnow,
We're discussing Roar on Victorys forum, how cool is that ... and pretty apt given they steal our players 👍 O'Toole did play LWB v Olympic I'd forgotten about that, and did it pretty well although it was all forward momentum on the night and little defending.

Waz , Rowles was a left sided CB when he play for our youth and first team and from memory he and O'Toole were both signed at the same time , one as a left back and the other as a centre back , both also went on to play for Aus U20s , Rowles played at CB before injury cut short his tournament , O'Toole played 4 games at left back and 1 at centre back. At the roar v Olympic game it was O'Toole that played left back or wing back if you like . Both O'Toole and Brown are both contracted for one more year at Roar according to website but not sure how accurate that is.

@ Sanchez
I don't think we have a back up. That was young Rowles that left unexpectedly for Mariners so now we don't have a recognised LB back-up ourselves. Both McKay and Bowles can can cover the traditional LB role, although in Aloisi's new back 3 model Bowles hasn't a hope in hell of playing wing-back though it suits Mackay perfectly. So bit of a mystery that rumour - if, if, Brown did leave we wouldn't have one recognised LB in the squad ourselves

What about any back ups or youth team prospects? Seriously, we'll take scraps! Having said that, we've got good depth in DM with Mattias, Valeri, Milligan and Williams so don't see Broxy getting much time there, so will expect him or Nigro to play LB all season. Unless that Djakpa rumour is actually a thing. Geez Georgevski would really round out our squad nicely....

+x+xIs this the latest most likely Berisha George Troisi Barbarouses Valeri Milligan Broxham Williams Donachie Geria Thomas
Bench: Acton, Deng, Sanchez, Austin, Ingham Squad: Nigro, Theoharus, Waring, Hope, McGilp Updated list. No new news on Djakpa ? Nothing as yet - however it looks like it'll be him and possibly a squaddie from the NPL. That will be the squad sorted.

+xMade a mistake there, that would be 22 with Theoharis. What's the squad size? 23? Would mean just the one visa signing to come, probably that Ivorian left back, unless Kev keeps it up his sleeve to sign an ACL player in January. Any more word on that left back??

That's 20 senior players now, if Theoharis is senior contracted that would make it 21.

+xLeroy George official now, another average signing from Victory this season, not a snowflakes chance in Hell we will challenge for any honours this season. The last 2 seasons we really have gone backwards in our recruitment, this signing is a season 3 kind of signing in the A league. Lookingat the current squads, I would put us at about 4th. I would be happy with a one legged blind ostrage as long as it started over Austin.

There was no way they were going to open the doors up for this game even if it was just a friendly...

+xVictory beat south 1-0 at lakeside on Wednesday night behind closed doors, both teams close to full strength. They kept that one quiet. I meant to post on here wondering where our next preseason friendly is. A friendly for both teams make sense as South want to stay in form for the cup as well, but I wish they didn't pussy out and let us see it!

Imports may not be as strong as some other teams but the Australians are by far the best. Milligan, Troisi, both national team, Williams almost. Geria also if he gets back to form. Barbarouses in NZ squad. No other team has Australian (NZ) quality like that. Yeah on paper this guy doesn't seem a world beater but let's see how he goes first. He definitely fills an area we were highly defficient in and with a fair bit of cap space going to those mentioned (marquee players excluded obviously) we probably didn't have a great deal of coin to splash.
