+x+xNext week is going to be fun. Just looked on the Ticketek website and seating map and they are opening the Gary Ablett Terrace for the travelling fans. Vuck fans in a proper terrace on an away day is tasty. Holy shit thats a new one. The Cops and seccos have always guarded the Gary Ablett Terrace like crazy to stop anyone getting in because heaven forbid soccer fans are standing WITHOUT a chair behind them!!!! Anyone who buys a more expensive active ticket to see even less is kidding themselves, that terrace is going to get swamped match day by everyone who has ever travelled down to geelong before. Is that the stand behind one of the goals, with the concrete slabs and shallow rise? i was sitting there for our first home game maybe, when it was crazy hot and the ticketing system crashed. Crap seats and you could hardly see anything with the advertising boards in the way, but for standing around it would be great

MV have a 20% link for away tickets for this weeks game. $16 GA tickets with no handling fee is an extremely generous deal. I found the link via the clubs Instagram story.
WU are doing buy 2 tickets get a third free with a code. Obviously both teams are doing everything in their power to get a solid attendance and atmosphere for the game on Sunday.

Victory offered WU fans discounted tix last time we played as well. its good to see we have some type of relationship with them. its a far cry from our relationship with City who have a habit of gouging us at away derbies. at the end of the day, it is in everyone's best interests to increase bums on seats.

Finally Geelong is putting on a nice day for a football match. Sunday looks sunny and warm, no excuses from our fan base to not bring a big contingent (5000+) down to lovely Geelong.

I'm sure nobody expected that Toivonen would tolerate our rabble for another year, but this should pretty much save us from getting our hopes up: Toivonen's desire to return to Sweden: "I feel ready abroad"
Ola Toivonen's contract with Melbourne Victory expires in May. Then the attacker is tempted to return to the Swedes. - It feels like it is a league that is on the rise and has been there for a few years, says Toivonen to Karlskoga Tidning.
After the 2018 World Cup, Ola Toivonen left European football to play in Australian Melbourne Victory, where he is now in his second season. But in May, the striker's contract with the club expires, and then it leans on the 33-year-old to return to Swedish football.
- I've seen a lot of the world and the kids are getting old. We feel that it is time to look closer to home and most likely is well then Sweden, says Toivonen to Karlskoga Tidning.
- I feel ready abroad.
Toivonen is attracted by playing in the Allsvenskan again, something he has not done since leaving Malmö FF after the 2008 season.
- It feels like it's a league that is on the rise and has been there for a few years. A lot is written about the Swedes and there is a lot of audience. Isaksson (Andreas), Kim (Källström) and Jonas (Olsson) have only said positive things. And to see the ending that "Mackan" (Markus Rosenberg) got was absolutely fantastic.
Malmö FF's sports director Daniel Andersson does not want to comment if he has any contact with Toivonen.
- I have no comments on that, he says to the Football Channel.
Given that he is a former MFF: is there a player that might be of interest to you? - As a sports manager, I have no comments, but it is clear that Ola and I have known each other for a while so we have some contact via sms. https://www.fotbollskanalen.se/australien/toivonen-sugen-pa-att-atervanda-till-sverige-jag-kanner-mig-klar-utomlands/

+xdid the melbourne victory women used to play w league matches in bentleigh? Yes they have, Melbourne Victory has played a number of games throughout the Westfield W-League at Kingston Heath, while former Victorian Women’s Premier League outfit Sandringham SC called the venue home during its tenure in the state’s top flight.

So we are now 10th, one point above CCM who have played two less games.
Mehmet and Magilton never went lower than 8th.

Vic MUST keep playing the kids, Josh Hope to be the attacking midfielder next week. Lesiotis could handle the holding midfield role if they want to swap with Basha late in matches. The club need to try to bring in a younger Central Midfielder and an Attacking Midfielder in January nevertheless. All is not lost.

1. Play more Josh Hope, the kid can play but was under utilised when Musky was head coach.
2. Fix up that defence, still too leaky.
3. Get a better midfield in, time to bring in Kirdar who is a big talent. The likes of Poulsen and Basha have been underwhelming considering their CVs.
4. Play Kruse as No.10 if not Hope, Kasomba for all of his technical aspects isn't a dangerous threat in the final third

Def in need of a grafter in midfield, someone who can shield the back 4, and at the same time break up the play, draw a foul to relieve pressure, commit a foul when a side is on the break etc, something we have not replaced since Valeri departed. Doesn't need to be the most technically gifted player, but someone who has the smarts, organise a midfield, and bark out instructions is what we are lacking. Time and time again yesterday, WU were under the pump, but Diamanti was smart enough to draw fouls and relieve the pressure gauge, push up the defensive line, and reset as a team. We just don't seem to have a good balance in midfield. We have Basha and Poulsen who seem to be (just) okay at the distribution, with some pace out wide, but lack someone to compliment that with some steel in there.

"It's not been easy but we know it will take time and we are looking at other ways of supporting him," one well-placed insider, who did not want to be identified, said on Monday.
"Discussions are taking place, the January [transfer] window is on the horizon and we are hopeful that things will turn around. Changes need to be made, but we are not the sort of club that makes hasty decisions."

There doesn’t even appear to be any positive signs. Or any room for growth considering how much of a flop his signings have been and how bad our midfield is. I wouldn't even give him the Jan window tbh. -PB

There doesn’t even appear to be any positive signs. Haven't seen or heard a single thing from Kurz to suggest he can take MVFC forward. Should have been sacked yesterday morning!

+x+xDavutavic has said the same also saying victory have more in the cap than people think. well thats not a good thing. we should be spending every available cent of the cap as well as all of the available concessions. Probably a symptom of our rushed last minute recruiting after Kurz rocked up and said he doesn't do signings.

Wish we could have Carlos or gui or hell troisi back in midfield
