Went to the fan day today. Great to have it on BSG instead of out the back.  Special mention to  Adam Elliott. What a champion bloke he is. So engaging  and friendly with every fan and genuinely appreciative of any compliment given. Just a special person and we're lucky to have him.

Elliott and Jackson are great guys.

As far as I can tell the whole side are good blokes.

What is good for the goose IS NOT apparently good for the gander
Hadley said it would be "totally inappropriate" to comment further, adding that his 28-year-old son was entitled to privacy.

Let's see how long he maintains his high standards of a fair go for all until convicted...pfffttt.

Interesting and details Politis' poaching methods.

‘We first met in the Bulldogs days,’’ SBW recalled this week. ‘‘I was at a cafe and he was in Hurstville and he was in the area on business and we met then. He asked me about my life, my family, my football and that’s what he has been doing ever since that time.’’

Williams made good on a promise – and a famous handshake – that when he returned to league after a stint in rugby it would be at the Roosters. "I didn’t think of coming back for anyone else or to go to another place other than to play for Nick and his team".

(So much for the cock and bull story that he approached the Dogs to try and make good).

Yes, Nick has money and SBW values money above all other considerations.

A typical Danny Weasel article .. Mundine must have stopped fighting as there was no mention of him..

So I tune into League Wrap and find out Hook has been sacked by Pamfers and my thoughts are immediately that Cleary will be rejoining them.

Gould was recently quoted as saying he asked young Nathan to defer his future till November. It all makes sense. He just wanted to put the wheels in motion to get Ivan back rather than get the Tigers to try and snare Nathan.

As I mentioned even before we sacked Des, Ivan is the coach we needed to speak to, because of his pulling power and because he is the father of Nathan.

My God I should be head of football operations....

Oh no. Mick Ennis being critical of Damien Cook.
I usually have a lot of respect for what Ennis says but geez he's let his personal view on hooker role take over his judgement here.....

I'm glad Sam Burgess gave some perspective and said Cook does things that Cam Smith cant. And that is the key.

Here's one for the tech gurus.....
I recently read somewhere that an aussie traveler with foxtel subscription tried to watch a sports game on their device but couldnt access it.

Yet when I was in london, I managed to watch fox502 on my mobile phone with no problems.

Is it because I am with Vodafone, and for $5 a day I was using my own plan data which tricks the firewall? Or is this other traveller full of it?

I love how our trial team caused penrith all this drama....
Who says trials are worthless?

If Des ends up coaching penrith, we only have to focus on beating 14 other teams for the title!!

Pay has already shown why he was worthy of a chance. He has helped us getting rid of Desball and he has indicated his willingness to try youngsters in the top grade. He has also dropped players for specific reasons or out of form.
Next year though will be the litmus test and come back end of the year the club will need to decide if they extend him or look we elsewhere.
Prior to the injection of Lewis, Martin and R Smith, and had we kept Woods and Mbye, my money would have been on him not getting a renewal for 2020 but with the above changes we look like a team improving every week and it might just see him get another couple of years

Agree 100%. Hadley is a scumbag. He is a Bulldogs hater and caused the club and it's fans untold damage during the Coffs rubbish. Read the trumped up Police report out on air too. Should have been taken off radio for that.

Trump watch:

Rick Gates, the bloke who was arrested and charged with Paul Manafort has flipped big time.

How big?

Well, Manafort and team were somewhat surprised when the prosecution called their star witness in Manfort's criminal case. That witness - Rick Gates.

From the courtroom...

ASONYE (Prosecutor): Were you involved in any criminal activity with Mr. Manafort?
GATES: Yes
ASONYE: Did you commit any crimes with Manafort?
GATES: Yes

Went on to detail money laundering, tax fraud etc etc.

Next to flip - Paul Manafort.

Who will he flip on?

I wonder.......................

I wonder if The Panthers really would go after Cleary, I wonder if Gould's that desperate and stupid to do it just for the sake of Cleary jnr. Hell of a position for a club to put itself into to be held hostage to a coach just to keep the son. What if Ivan flunks? Can't sack him, can't question him, can't really anything lest he takes his boy and goes home.

I wouldn't go after Cleary Snr for that reason alone to tell the truth. I'd go after Junior any day of the week but if it comes with a "Dad clause" I wouldn't care if Senior had 10 Premierships behind him it'd be thanks but no thanks. If I want Senior, I'll go after Senior. If I want Junior I go after Junior. But there'd be no package deals.

I think they'll make a play for Bennett. It's set up perfectly for both really. The teams already there, so Gould can keep in charge of recruiting and all the rest, Benny comes in has three years to win a Premiership or two (and the team's there to do it NOW) and then move on to the next mercenary job.

I'm not buying that theory as the Panthers got rid of Cleary previously.

Gould has a lot of good attributes and knowledge, but he doesn't exactly stick solid.

The clock is ticking on the Panthers and they don't want to keep going form quick fix to quick fix ...

If prefer the traditional approach give a coach time to build a team, then use that team, typically 5 years.

When things seem to be going backwards change the coach...

I don't particularly rate hook, but the Panthers haven't been that bad this season.

The big mistake they made was getting rid of Cleary Snr last time around.

Watching the SBW interviews it seem Politis was in SBW's ear whilst still contracted to the Dogs. Unless you follow the Roosters, Politis is a blight on the game and a huge danger to particularly other Sydney clubs. He has far too much influence and power over CH9 and the NRL. Needs another Bullfrog type character to stand up to him and wield a bit of their own power - ideally from another big Sydney club.

Yep. It was mistake getting rid of Cleary (I for one would not have swapped him for hook in the first place) but getting rid of Hook now seems incredibly outrageous. 10 times more so than us getting rid of Des....and that caused an uproar.

There would have to be a massive massive reason why they would do it. In my opinion it has to b ed one of the following:

a) Getting Cleary Snr and ensuring Tigers dont start to make a play at Jnr.
b) They honestly believe they can win the premiership from here with Gould as "silent"  coach and Ciraldo as puppet coach
c) Hook slept with someones wife or daughter
d) Hook has been giving patches or HGH to the players and they have rid themselves of such bad practices
e) Gould found out about Hook winning big on the TAB with exotic bets like, Penrith to win after trailing by 18 points with 7mins to go.
f) Bellamy is seeking out of the storm and will take Cam Smith and Slater with him

Now from above, only a,b or f are plausible options to sack him at this stage of season.

No team, ever, should be sacking their coach and derailing their season when in the top 4. None.
It's hard enough to make the top 4, so you just don't waste it. There has to be a very good reason.

I don't think f is realistic so that leaves a or b.

My money is on (a).....
