+x+x+x+xI'm watching the F1 series on Netflix at present, I'm not into motor racing... I did go to an F1 once, and it is worth doing if you have never been,,,, However, the series covers the personalities, and the effort that needs to go into preparation and winning, it isn't a level playing field, but is is a sport that tests everyone mentally. On the edge in F1 for a driver, when things haven't been going well, or you have had a bad crash or lots of near misses, to come back hard and take the well calculated risks needed to be a winner is no easy thing... Trying too hard can be counter-productive and perhaps even fatal, lose your courage and confidence you are shot....the best thing to do is quit while you are still alive... So there is a fine line, you need to be brave, calculating, smart and lucky enough to have the bastards give you are car with a chance.. Drivers, head mechanics, and team managers are like football coaches, easy to sack when there is a problem... With 2 drivers on the same team in the same judged against each other, there is only ever one survivor in the long run, the top dog has to stay top dog, and the rookie needs to show promise, the rookie has to try to do better than the top dog.... It sure is a sport (activity) that will raise the stress level of most participants... I forwarded this to my good friend Vlan the Man... Just wanted to give him an example of the serious plight suffered by welded on rugby league fans fans during the seasons suspension... The confirmed numbers of fans pretending other things are sport continue to soar nay skyrocket each day and this trajectory will put the BDP system under enormous pressure... I encouraged Vlan to keep fighting hard and flatten the curve for our game before the likes of HD start posting about other alleged sports such as ‘Fortnight’... I assume we all agree Scrabble is a sport? I need some NRL ... and fast... Not a sport... Like chess... If you’re a fan of scrabble the app has some serious competitors on it... Ensure you are across your 2 letter words if you want any chance of winning... Not as fan but one of my uncle's was a good player, taught and us kids.... Also taught us piano by writing numbers on the white keys in texta.... could play all sorts of music, could not read music I recon the opera house should write on the white keys, I know a few numbers..... (or did know) I'm more worried about the trend in my TV sports viewing without NRL..... The trend seems to be.... Soccer->F1 -> Lawn Bowls -> Table Tennis -> Sheep Dog Trials (hopefully as low as I go) -> Cane Toad races* -> Reruns of Friends -> AFL *I think it will be better to volunteer to be put in a comma or play Scrabble after watching Cane Toad races..

+x+xSuggestions origin to be played over 4 week in July... Opportunity to see how what many have been calling for for years goes... Hopefully it works well, and next year an aus based international footy carnival cam take place while the comp shuts down... lady origin x 3... NZ, PNG, Pacific nations tourney... nines weekend... fastest commentator in leaguer race... NRLs strongest referee competition...boxing events... A Jarryd Hayne selected American football side with him as captain coach vs. the Australian American football Team.. sons and nephews of cops Team vs current NRL convicts Team,... Israels Knights vs The Sydney convicts... Lebanon vs a newly formed African Nations Residents side in battle for Australia’s title as scariest gangs... The word extravaganza comes to mind but may not do the concept justice!!!... Im penning a letter to TTT today.. he is an innovator, and will jump at this... All ideas welcome will press send at COB today. To be clear... the NRLol Convicts side will only be able to select players with convictions... those with charges pending are ineligible for this squad... No fault stand down policy will still apply for those currently stood down with charges pending... If however a player is currently stood down under the policy but has a prior conviction resulting in incarceration they will be eligible to play in the NRLol convicts side only... stand down will still apply post this occurrence... Finding love while in incarceration does not allow a player to play in the Sydney convicts Team... Both Cocaine Cassie and her ‘prison lover’ are ineligible as cheerleaders... Thanks for the question Villi...

+xEven more telling was the way the Australian side when forward from that point in time.. In all sport actions and words on the field, speak much louder than words off the field... Talk is cheap, genuine leadership is priceless. And all along I thought he'd told him his mother smelt of elderberries.

It was a good read. I'm also glad a well respected international cricketer, such as Mark Waugh, agrees with me - Curtly isn't the sort of person you want to provoke into killing you!

+x+x+x+xWe gotta sign Rapana right???... Okay then.... You’ve been calling for it since the Port scandal... Hes indicates he’s keen on a return so it’s a no brainer no he’s actually cinder he ain’t going overseas any time soon... Would make a lethal combo with hoppas silky hands inside him... If the halves can get them decent ball... I knew I’d finally convert you into seeing my vision for recruitment We need to snag a good name to prove to other players that we are legit at building a team of talent. We just lost arguably our most talented player in CHN. My personal preference is Addo Carr but Rapana would also fill that wing spot nicely.

+x+x+x+x* I WOULDN'T * Fekking phone.... Then you're in danger of being left with your phone in one hand and your dick in the other. Bennet's track record is is full of him using clubs for his profile and his price. Remember he was ll tied up to Easts early 00's, then the story gets out (which he probably leaked) and he gets all high and mighty and surprise surprise gets an upgrade and extension at The Broncs. The Dragons thought they were getting him back two years, just a signature required they think, then surprise surprise now he's going to The Panthers (all of this played out in the press) but he ain't finished shafting clubs yet, now he's off to Souths - the job he really wanted in the first place. He will f***in' play you, play any club, with no shame - as long as it keeps him in profile to hype demand. And even if he comes to your club, his heart's not in it, his heart's still and always will be with The Broncs. They are the ONLY club he's ever been interested in BUILDING, Anywhere else he goes he just wants the quick 3 year tilt and f*** what he leaves behind. If Bulldog fans where given an option of 1 premiership every 8 -10 years they'd take it with both hands without a second thought. Even if you told them we would miss finals for 4 years in between - they'd still take it. Why? Cos its why we exist. We exist to win titles. You might enjoy a team like Norths who notoriously were in the top 4 for a whole decade but never won a title, or you can prefer the Bulldogs who would win a title and fail miserably the following year (88 to 89, 95 to 96, 04 to 05). If Bennett comes and leaves in 3 years but delivers a premiership I'd be happy. Even if he left the place like Des did (can hardly imagine he is capable). I know I know....you'll point to Newcastle etc. It wasnt just Bennett that stuffed the Knights...it was their management, their structure (ownership woes) , their culture (drugs) and of course the Alex McKinnon incident that sent shockwaves within the club. If it's a call between Bennett and another established and heralded coach, I think we can pick and choose ...but if theres no other decent candidates to consider, I think it's a no brainer. Mo matter how bad you think he can leave the joint. We said the same thing before Des arrived.. for the record Des tried hard to win a premiership..... What do you think Bennett has that Des doesn't? IMO the only significant differences are Des is a better man manager, and Bennett is more hands off in attack. Both can be a total disaster when they run recruitment an retention. That's the whole point HD. You go out and get the best coach (or one of the best) and give him a chance to win you a title. Chasing and trialling out a nobody coach is just the cheap way out and hopeful at best. If we really do have a chance to wipe the slate clean with the roster and have a genuine crack at the market and the premiership, then we also need a top coach to do it. As you say, unless we can get a Bellamy or Robinson, we should be having a crack at Bennett if he's keen. I hear what Zef is saying, but the circumstances are more like Saints than Newcastle... The fact Bennett can have an open cheque book and put together more than 75% of the team would appeal to him. Would appeal to anyone really...

Newcastle being an example of how it can go wrong... It is always hard to say if a coach will get results at a new club, we were all optimistic abut Des initially and Moore and built a fairly good squad, Des got everything he wanted and we had talent players like Taupau, Finucane and Cook go elsewhere and show us exactly how talented they were, and in most cases that was no big surprise.... we had other talent players come and go, Des got everything he wanted.. That formula worked for the club with Wok, and it has worked for other clubs at other times.... lots of times it hasn't worked. Like Des I don;t think Bennett suits our club, Bellamy and Robinson would, the Storm and Roosters are similar to a Bulldogs culture and mentality... in fact both a copied a lot of our best work. But it will be a miracle if we could get Bellamy or Robinson..

+x+x+xIt was easier this time around than it was last time it happened 5 years ago. At least the whole website didn't vanish & there was the opportunity to get a new link to everyone. When it happened before there was no way to contact anyone whatsoever. People kept trying to load the page for days or weeks not knowing if it was permanently dead or what. I had to discuss it with the Punters owners (that also owned the suddenly extinct rleague.com) so we could keep a page going somehow. Most people, apart from a handful I got through to via email, were out of the loop. Some are gone forever, others managed to find it over time, perhaps by google or word of mouth. Anyway, it is what it is, for better or worse. Not sure if this one auto-refreshes like the other one, but the "F5" key does a refresh. Looks like there's a few settings & viewing modes to be found. it's been bugging me for a week - who is this bloke? And how come nobody else asked? and what was he going on about? It's like a post from two years ago that just appeared or something? I did I did ask Villi to ‘pinch me’ as a reply to this post and was hoping for a reply from the OP... i thought I was having an acid flashback initially.... Is it even a post from as far back as the first days of Punters club???...
