+x+x+x+x+x+xThe issue I have right now is that some of our contracted players for 2022 are playing reggies, whilst the likes of Napa, Floppa, Katoa etc won’t be around next year continue to get selected.
Doorey, Wakeham, Schouup... give them a go now!
Move/change around the top 30 and make it happen T Baz Doorey and Schooup might be development players. I would have 9. Topine, 14. Wakeham - I am puzzled my Katoa keeps getting picked. The only time Katoa looked good was playing in the halves when Lewis got injured. Play Katoa in the halves in reserve grade and see if that is his best position. Doorey is in the Top 30 surely with injuries to JO and Crichton, we could get a dispensation to play Schoupp, like we’ve done with DeItz Barrett's dilemma. NSW Cup last week. Schoupp: 8 tackles made, 5 missed tackles, 2 ineffective tackles. Deitz: 4 runs 22 metres, dummy half runs 1 for 2 metres. Hardly knocking the door down for selection. Schoupp generally has good stats for tackle breaks and yards. His defence may be the problem, I thought it was ok, weeks 1 & 2... but 11 tackles 4 misses - round 1 5 tackles 1 misses 2 inneffective - round 2 6 tackles 2 misses - round 3 Defence is an issue - hopefully he can improve - hard running with the ball. Hoppa isn't racking up great defensive stats, but granted NRL is a significant step up. Edit: Stats wise the NRL players are generally doing better than reserve grade. The rebuild might involve more recruitment, if reserve grade are worse than the NRL squad, we need better options. Without watching a replay of the game you may need to take these stats with a grain of salt. For example... if in the process of making a group tackle, you slide off before it is completed but its completed by a teammate instead, it may go down as a missed tackle or ineffective tackle in the stats, but means nothing in the context. If however you miss a one on one tackle that results in a break or a try, then that is highly critical. Thats what Hoppa is accused of doing. Missing tackles that result in tries or breaks. True Hoppa has made some bad misses. The coaches would have video of reserve grade, they are well placed to judge. When a young player ticks a lot of boxes but has I problem area in their game, it can often be fixed. The player has to want to improve, young players are motivated. But the coaches might want all boxes ticked to an acceptable level before the player plays NRL.

There's no sugar coating tackling stats like that. Obviously an area that needs improving before first grade. Maybe there's someone in Wests we should be looking at

+xFrom a players perspective what's at Belmore that is so attractive??? The place looks like a hole.. There's distinction's that draw players to certain clubs we need to lift to sustain our position!Time for a refab!! Tha majority is out of sight, inside the grandstand which was gutted and re-furnished and is accepted as having one of, if not the, best facilities in the League. It has a high altitude chamber ffs. A full size training field of which we are the primary and priority residents, and plenty of secure parking for the residents. And some of the best coffee and sandwich shops in suburbia.
Don’t let the postcards fool you, if it’s not the envy of the league, it’s the envy of most.

Was dismayed to hear a former coach join a particular commentary team over the weekend. His insights were ordinary and I don’t think he is a great injection into the com box...

Yes v aware of the established direction of the facilities in the training complex - doesn't make up for the exterior .. compare it with Cronulla Manly Newcastle Canberra Melbourne Brisbane Quality influence on general perception lacks Hard to cop imo

Maybe we should see if some of the NSW batsmen can play NRL?
They may be trying to play the wrong sport.

A new stadium in Liverpool is the dream and looks possible with the state government putting money into stadiums. Let’s hope we can push for that and become the primary residents there. The population of the area is growing at an enormous rate and the junior base is huge.

Just on players we should let go Stimson has to be high on that list. If anybody will take him offload him ASAP.
I agree as well with everybody that Napa was a putrid signing but that’s on the recruiting committee. He was always an impact player that was there to worry the attacking team with his shoulder. He was never a ‘meter eater’ and rarely would start a game. We replaced Klem with a player that was nothing like him snd tried to turn him into Klem. Stupidity on our part.
I was very happy when I heard that TBaz tried to sign Spencer from the Panthers. He is the prop type of the modern day prop. Fast, mobile, wide but short. In the Asotassi mould. We desperately need a forward like him. Thompson can’t do it alone

If it wasn’t for Brisbane ring so bad. We would be the laughing stock of the NRL. It’s so embarrassing being a Bulldogs supporter these days.

Melb don’t train at AAMI park, Easts don’t rain at The SCG nor did they or will they at the Football stadium, Souths don’t train at Homebush, Panther don’t train at Penrith Park, there’s your top 4 teams. I could go on, Broncos been training out of Red Hill for... ever. I don’t think there’s any.

Just watching Penrith in their pre-game warm up and you can tell they are miles ahead of any other team.
Their drills are not your usual stuff to show off to the fans. They are very progressive in their drills even without the ball.
The one that impressed me most was 4 players 1m apart on the goaline advancing towards the trainer on the 10m line and doing a shuffle to left and shuffle to right - on his call.
Another row of 4 players doing the same after them, then another 4 and another 4 and then do it all again.
They ran up in a line, they shuffled as one as good as synchronized olympic swimmers.
That training drill is what our guys need.
No ball, no nothing. Just move up as one and shuffle across as one.

Is Dearden the most overrated player in recent history?
All I hear is Dearden this Dearden that and he's worse than any half Brisbane has had over the last 5 years

Wow. I havent wanted a non Bulldogs team to win the premiership since 2017 (Storm) than this Penrith team.
They are just so well coached it's not funny. Their enthusiasm, skill and confidence is just amazing. They play the game as it should. Joy to watch.
