No idea who they are. No scrutiny. I'm assuming it is one of two reasons: a) Lack of soccer media in Australia to take an interest b) Nothing worth reporting on (i.e. it's happening, just behind closed doors and bloody slow). It could be a combination of the two but I'd assume it's more lack of media to take an interest.

They have zero obligation to share anything (good or bad) to anyone outside of the organisation. It would be nice if they did share more, but they really have no obligation to do so.

Meanwhile, back in the real world NPL clubs are developing their grounds at a rapid pace: Even old "cash only" Choakleigh will have a better stadium than the charlatans in Tarneit.... https://www.soccerscene.com.au/oakleigh-cannons-confirm-4m-grant-for-jack-edwards-reserve-upgrade/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

+x+x+x+xKey points from the article:- The government will on Friday announce funding and a feasibility review for a 15,000 seat multipurpose venue for Melbourne’s fast growing south east.
- Deloitte Australia will conduct the review and business case for a rectangular stadium estimated to cost up to $175 million.
- Multi-purpose venue (soccer, rugby, festivals, concerts, etc)
- Melbourne City FC will be involved (doesn't specify at what capacity)
- The government would initially match Dandenong Council’s $100,000 for the study into the stadium’s viability.
- Location would be on council owned land as per Team 11 bid.
- Fed government would be called upon for funding.
- Feasibility study expected to be finished this year.
Thanks for the summary.
Interesting times. Even though I am in the Northern suburbs, I do tend to think City’s best chance for the future is making the South East it’s home - not just a training base.
I am sure many will be annoyed it it does end up playing matches in Dandenong, but the chance to open up the significant South East catchment area is certainly something that will finally give the club added value.
As for WU, it’s hard to see what they do next with no signs of movement on this stadium vision they have. Once MC moves to Dandy, WU can use AAMI officially and there will be no stadium in Tarneit. You heard it here first. People can moan as much as they like but WU are part of the APL and they won't punish themselves for not meeting the promises made to FFA. Probs explains why they are dragging their feet. Aami is not Western. WU don't belong there. But marvel is. I wouldn't suprise me if they used marvel as a home stadium as it's geographically West.

Yep 30 months and only 2 months ago they said they had not yet appointed a project manage nor a builder. We don't even have a recent design render. Even with Covid roadblocks, you'd think the design and engineering part of the project would have been completed at the very least.

+xI know covid has complicated things but I wish the footballing media and footballing community would hold them accountable for their empty promises regarding the stadium. Make them answer the questions. There is no footballing media in this country mate. Just a bunch of bloggers who get paid by the APL clubs to write puff pieces. Independent, ethical journalism is dying in the face of the onslaught of clickbait gutter trash diatribes. Its no use trying to shine a light on the dodgy dealings which lead to these charlatans being awarded a franchise, the fish rots from the head and fat Nick and dopey Greg have never even been publically asked the question, let alone been compelled to explain the decision. Its the price we pay for having a football administration which is more concerned with financial outcomes (lets not even mention the possibility of personal financial gain for some) than actually ensuring the sport as a whole is successful and we play it at our best level. At the end of the day, if the 500 "fans" of this franchise don't mind being lied too and don't care enough (or understand enough) to ask for certainty from the "club" they are so invested in then nothing will be done about it. If the planned estate doesn't go ahead in the next few years for whatever reason and there is no reason to build a stadium anymore do you think the might "Nero-Verdi" will still exist? I dont.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xKey points from the article:- The government will on Friday announce funding and a feasibility review for a 15,000 seat multipurpose venue for Melbourne’s fast growing south east.
Yes but it is not Rectangle so its shite. What about triangles? How do you feel about other shapes? Opah!!! Hexagonal is more effective if they spend alittle more on the project, if it ever gets going. I heard Dec 21 of late. Are you dancing or have you just been watching one to many Mikis Theodorakis tributes on Youtube? Dec 21st, hey.... maybe someone is pulling your leg on the longest day of the year ..... heheheh next week is exactly 30 months since being awarded a license....... What a musical composer Theothorakis, I was dancing on the ceiling like Lionel Messi, I mean Ritchie!! 😁
