Looked sort of like Australia vs Argentina. CFG had most of the ball, no shots by Spurs in the first half

Pretty petty this shit tbh…… Ange doing ok coaching wise to me in the best most competitive league in the world. Shows no game is easy cups or leagues. Came up against the quadruple champs overall a dour game but spurs resisted but for a box messy opportunist goal by a team of top fighters who would walk into any other starting line up. Fellas also Ange won’t be in any LFC coaching opportunities might I add.

I don't understand people who criticise him for what he has down at Tottenham. He is 6-7 months into building a team that will win many matches and a couple of trophies. Part of that, is going through some hurdles, especially after what he took over. It will come together. We have seen this from his teams over and over again.

Yep agreed - this season is setting his platform for next as anyone can see but overall under injury circumstances and lacking depth they are punching above their weight imo at this stage. He gets a top 6 finish all kudos to his management with the troops he has.

He has what is it half a billion whatever's of players, and he runs in to the ground right from the off, instead of ramping it over time. Sometimes injuries are just bad luck but there's a repeating pattern of injuries right after he comes in to a clubs, and he's the common denominator. I'd argue managing the fitness of the player is part of managing the team.

They criticize because he does have a much bigger player budget to teams they've lost to that they really should be beating.

During the post-match presser he was rather despondent because his saw his team really is a level or even two below City. It was only 1-0, but as he himself said Spurs were just barely holding on. Its one thing to be top 6 with a big budget, its another level or two to be number 1.

Klopp was also considered a injury/player breaker for his game is even more highly charged in pressing and recover possession high and some would say players over used. This is todays game with so many games to play more than anything else, also like any of us some get more injuries than others. Its not that cut and dried being judge and jury on these matters. Even when/if you recycle players you can still end up with a high injury toll. One season you hardly have injuires with key start up players, next you have to contend with 3 or whatever. No one can predict this. Part and parcel playing football so so much at those levels, something got to give sometimes not. That Cup game they had 43% possession against the best squad incl depth the last number of seasons, ofcourse they are at least 2 levels below pretty obvious. Forget even mentioning no1, they are far from there but I can see top6 as mentioned.

https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/tottenham-to-play-friendly-in-australia-3-days-after-season-ends-20240129-WST-486174.htmlPostecoglou will wrap up his first season with Tottenham in a celebratory fashion in Melbourne https://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/tottenham-talks-potential-post-season-100512410.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAAlysuHZ54FeKQWAOkL4MhfaRrROo0ccSYvPZSthSbrsbE3VUHh5gHBlLjR8RgYaZCZEYRbJBK42fF6-Y0WdVzykCIpmG8nEEmVyiLb2-dLtkErxr6bEN1AlNMqZjeI7FEOLC_T08ZU9f-IF6kNNpjKcbKGsou1mLd4SajVUSEg0A visit to Melbourne would generate huge buzz given the interest in Postecoglou in Australia -- dubbed 'Ange-mania' -- but is unlikely to be well received by senior players and international managers preparing for the summer's European Championship, which starts on June 14. Im hearing this will be a wankfest APL All Stars thing butttttt .... The positive is that Spurs will be training at Lakeside and maybe, just maybe,a members only practice match against the Hellas boys ... at least that is the whisper.

+xThis would generate huge interest in Australia, especially if he could get Spurs in the top 4. I sort of feel sorry for the players though, in a way, yes its their job as professionals however EPL is gruelling and most of them would have international duties (especially this year). Your bang on though, If Spurs are top 4 and getting ready for UCL then interest for a friendly down here would be huge. I hope they end up playing City or Victory though and not some all stars garbage.... Even I might go along (provided they dont end up playing Hellas that is).

Brentford doing what a lot of teams do now. They've got 3 at the back and 5 across midfield with 1 full back and 1 winger. A defensive mid lingers deep while the CB on the winger's side covers more area.
I don't mind it really.

Brentford score. Unbelievable. Toney ends up beyond the goal line and walks back really slowly knowing Spurs will probably pass back without looking. Udogie gets it and glances and just passes it back 20m to Toney and he can score. Van de Ven signally for the backpass was blind as.

Having visions of Behich doing what Udogie did. The modern game just has so many harsh lessons on the stupid insistence of passing it backwards or playing with it at the back. The number of goals the last decade from stupid mishaps is astounding. Safety first.

gawd I enjoy watching club football at this level ! Good on spurs also had to win at home but brentford are a good unit. 19 shots, thats what its about. Just watching LFC rip Chelsea - its a feast, this is attacking football luv to watch 25 shots 10 on target. I admire teams capable playing a low block and get a result, they are those hard earned good wins but attack attack is what brings us back always.
