Fixtures out. July 31 Hearts away. That's going to be tricky. Then home games to Dundee and St Mirren then the fourth game is away to Rangers.

+x+x+xHope the deal is already done and that this result doesn’t spook the owners. The Scottish press will be all over this result. Losing to a 4th tier team doesn’t make for a great headline prior to him coming on board. Oh FFS, a side bottles it because they have the sulks and this will set off the scarey Scortish press. Big deal. Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce that it has appointed Ange Postecoglou to the position of Football Manager. Ange joins Celtic from Yokohama F. Marinos, where he has delivered the J League title. Previously he has also won Premiership and Championship Titles in Australia’s A League. https://www.celticfc.com/news/2021/june/Celtic-appoint-Ange-Postecoglou-as-new-football-manager/

+x+x+x+xI wonder whether Ange might bring Tim Cahill onto his staff? Cahill understands high pressure football and being not long retired from playing could be a good bridge between the playing squad and Ange, noting Ange is often considered aloof by many who have played under him. I have read the views that suggest Ange won’t bring in any Aussie staff but I am not convinced. He will need people he can trust and it seemed Ange and Cahill got on pretty well. He's dumb as a door knob we saw that on skysports. You don’t need a PhD to establish rapport with players or fans, especially if they are thick too. Ange has trouble establishing rapport, and admits it in his book. Ange is also very clever. So together they’d be a good match. Yin and Yang. Usually at this level a head coach will get to have a whole team behind them and if this is the case, there’d be room for Cahill. I am sure Cahill is clever enough to run training sessions and in any event, he wouldn’t be the only member of the coaching staff. Anyway, just an idea. By the way, he is marketing savvy, would have millions in the bank, so can not be that thick. His money would have been handled by his manager. Then I guess he picked a good manager, which is quite astute, wouldn’t you say?

Funny though, on the Celtic boards they're quick to forget that the one they still love Brendan Rodgers got done by Red Imps in his first game at celtic, some 170 places lower than celtic in Europe.
Having said that i wouldn't have risked something like this in my last match, i would've played my best 11.

+x+x+x+x+xHow do the Yokohama fans feel about this? Not happy at all especially since its mid season and within a really good chance for a acl spot but it is inevitable. I'm not happy either. The Scottish league is so boring. Celtic is boring. I understand it's a step up in terms of prestige, but I really enjoyed following Yokohama. I liked the unpredictability of the J league. It'll be very tough to get excited about Celtic. Im in two minds and i will dearly miss Yokohama but Celtic is a step up and its another step up for his career and Australian football. Its going to be one hell of a ride especially with their rabid fans. Can't wait. Why would you miss them?? You do know that you can still follow/watch them play, right?? It's not the same. Yokohama FM doesn't mean anything to me without an Aussie connection. It instantly becomes hard to care. I enjoyed watching them on optus sport and following their fortunes with Ange, now I almost certainly won't bother. I really like jleague though. It was fun.

Stellar week for Aussie couches in Europe First Angie to Celtic and now Joe Montemurro to Juve Women's team...both well loved and respected ex South Melbourne coaches strutting their stuff in the big leagues of Europe... such a fantastic story... proud of them both:

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x😂 hilarious comments! My favorite is ‘Australians aren’t allowed to support celtic’. Fine with me you haggis eating morons 👍 Just had a click on the link above. In just a week it's gone from 60 pages to 143. And they're still fuming. Can’t they fathom that a J League title winning coach has won a title in a (edit) similar standard league to Spfl?! Far Beyond mental 🤪🤪🤪 Tell that to MAN UTD & Spurs fans with Jose. Ange is not as nutty as Mourinho Or as successful . if we earned a dollar for every celtic supporter on this AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL FORUM that was supportive of Aussie players and coaches - instead of being overly critical and BIASED towards Scottish football interests - we would have about $1.50 👍 $1.50?? How did you come up with that conclusion?? 😅 50 cents from yourself and $1.00 from ‘Bunch of Hacks’. Ohhhh, thanks 😊 Wow, I never knew that you valued me and my contributions to this forum. Knowing that I am valued is really appreciated. I'm touched by your kind words - Thank you 😊

+x+x+x+x(1) Not that I follow Celtic but from reading a bit of the forum they seem to be expecting " demand" results straight away. (2) Ange seems to take quite a while before the results come. (3) Wonder how long they'll give him if results don't go his way early. (1) With regards to you're not too far off. 🙂 I have "fixed" your comment for you. 😉 (2) As for he may need some time to implement his style and his philosophy, and that is fine –As long as he gets results on the on the way.
(3) If results are really bad, and 'that other lot' starts to run ahead out of sight', then maybe two or three months. If the results are poorly, but we are still in touching distance then possibly until the winter break.
_________________ Note: Take all that I said with a grain of salt, as with/in football (regardless of League or Counrty) anywhere it is usually the manager that face's the chopping block first.
Other then those I just mentioned there will be other factors that has slipped my mind due to me being so tired. Not to be a smartass but you're probably in a better position but realistically what's expected? It's all well and good to say he's expected to win ASAP, but from what I've read Celtic squad is in desperate need of "rejuvenation" I mean Edouard is as good as gone from what's floating around in tthe news, Ajer is in the same boat + a whole bunch of depth is out of contract or last year of their contracts. Christie's and Ntcham have asked to leave I think? Elyanoussi's loan is also up and I've read somehwere there's like a handful of fit defenders as well for the start of the season. That's a lot of 1st team talent to replace. Most of those guys are 1st team regulars and feature regularly. That's a lot of talent to replace if they all go to replace in like 1-2 months Duffy Kenny and Laxalt have all returned to their clubs from their loans too. Klimana already left. We have a very small squad atm which should get smaller So it's even worse than I had suspected. I hope Ange is at least given the winter transfer window

+xBalin Trav defending the Celtic board, tells you all you need to know about his footballing knowledge hahahahah what a fanny I'm not privy to the finances and balance sheet of celtic so I don't know what state its in and how much we have available to compete but all I know is the market is very different now than say 10 15 yrs back. The TV rights for epl and CL keeps going up and up. Clubs are now owned by countries. The amount of money these teams are armed with is obscene. Celtic and the piddily little tv money we get in Scotland can't compete anymore. In the 90's some of the big English players played at rangers because the money was better. Imagine that nowadays!
