+x+x+x+xThe GF should be a top game with two attacking sides.City will have the GF experience and CCM will have the young and motivated players. However I reckon it would be a better game if it was played next weekend rather than in two weeks time. Both teams comfortably won their respective semi finals and the momentum is just going to dissipate over the two week break. what? they have a break? Yep. Another symptom of the dumb GF decision. Two weeks off so they can start the 'festival of mediocrity' next weekend so then the GF is the big final event on the following weekend. It's also so interstate fans have time to organise their travel and accommodation plans. Christ that pathetic. So they'll drag the Grand Final date away long enough from the exciting game on Sat night so that everyone will forget about it & the hype will be lost. Fuck all of those APL idiots, administrative dunderheads.

+xCity were aided by the red card. It wasn't really a contest after the incident . Nevertheless, City played some decent football in possession. CCM and AU was a good game. Lower aggregate passes than an average A L game. I think both teams built up using accelerated attacks more than the A L norm. The cooler weather might have helped with the higher tempo too. AU was a bit unlucky around goal - particularly with the AU goal disallowed. The lower pass percentage was down to the high press both team were playing.

The two form strikers in MacLaren and Cummings will be on show .Possibly City hold the advantage in the midfield but Nisbet is a tenacious pocket rocket and Balard has come on in leaps and bounds over the last half of the season.
Tilio has been great for City and surely must attract OS attention.Tulio and Silvera like wise have been brilliant for the Mariners and Beni Nkololo, though erratic,is difficult to play against with his awkward but effective dribbling.

+x+x+xThey had Goodwin covered all game pretty much. who really impressed on the ball as a sub was Theoharus. strong skilful. should be a good contest coming up Yes he impressed, he went forward well and but also tracked back at did good defensive work. He is surely good enough to be starting for an A-league team. Wouldnt be surprised if they get him to drop wieght in the off-season and he plays a more central role in the team next year. He’s not a 90 minutes player at the moment but definitely has great skills. The Mariners strength and conditioning staff will have him primed for next season I’m sure, with the added games in the AFC cup he will be a great addition to the squad.

Sam Silvera probably the most improved player this season. 7 goals & 4 assists is a decent contribution for the season and he always looks dangerous whenever he's got the ball.

Agreed his work rate was high as well and effective. Thought he actually stood out more than most during his period on. I’d actually start him up.

+xCCM too good. They out played us completely over the two games. We threw everything at them at the end and perhaps could have scored a goal or two but it was not to be. I thought Irankunda was good playing as an attacking midfielder instead of his usual position as a winger. Farrell was amazing after he came on. Two future Socceroos. Farrell might be behind Bos for future LB but he will play at some stage. Agreed, Irankuda was great in that #10 position. He's got it all - nearly scored a couple of goals, nearly set 2 or 3 up, 100% passing accuracy, speed & skill. He could probably start & play big mins at #10 as well, because there's not as a many gut busting runs required, up & down the sideline, like when he plays on the wing.

I think both results were fair, Melb City and CCM have been the best football teams to watch this season and its fitting both will play against each other in the grand final in two weeks time. It should be a great game of football.
Again Silvera has been brilliant, he's form maybe warrants a call up to the Socceroos? We shall see but he's form has been very good, same with Marco Tulio he's come in leaps and bounds and has turn into one of the most in form players as well.
I think it will be a close game, a shame we have to wait two weeks for it I guess watching the NPL will do before that.

+x+x+xWell worked goal. That's it, goodbye SFC. They are the oldest squad in the the A League, time for a clear out. Start with the coach that lets young talent like Tilio leave Sydney FC and score against them in big games 😂 If segecic and wood had 900 minutes this season they are a different prospect. Particularly wood who can hurt you on the counter. even if corica sees the youth as weeker than his first team they are still an investment that pay off later in the season and even more in the following season I guess that’s a reason why Sydney FC brought in Alex Baumjohann as Head of Player Management? Assuming he will help intergrate the youth into the first team more better with the head coaching staff and therefore take advantage of it with transfer fees as a reward if they do well? That’s something they need to do better on for next season is using their talented youth more often.

+xIs Marco Tilio ready for European football? 10 goals and 5 assists is a decent return for him this season. The red card for Sydney FC really changed the game for them, and from then Melb City took complete control and won easy in the end. CCM vs Adelaide should be a cracker, it will be a close one I liked the way CCM have been playing but Adelaide I have a funny feeling about them they could cause an upset it should be exciting! Holy trinity hopefully unless he speaks italian and can get a visa in italy? 15 goal involvements in the equivalent of 20 games, when was the last time a young player has gone overseason on the back of that level of output?

+xI love how the ref had to look at that for 5 minutes to give it a red couldnt be more red if he used a hand gun Ref really didn’t want to give it did he? H should've picked it up not only in real life, but also maybe the 20 times he watched it before turning off
