OK, Arnie's in negotiations which is fantastic, most of the roster has been filled apart from alternative GK. What is the betting on a formation change? I'm basing this on the lack of cover for the CDM possies. Only Caceres to cover for Monty and Hutch. Go You Yellow may have hit the nail on the head with a reversion to a diamond, getting more of our forward options on the park. If this is the case would you pick Monty or Hutch for the CDM role. Personally I don't think either of them have enough presence to hold the centre by themselves in the way Griffiths did, but Sainsbury might, with the new Dutchman and Anderson behind him this could work very well. But then, what to do with Monty and Hutch?
Interestingly the CCM website only has 4 players listed as midfielders with Flores yet to be added, to fill 4 spots in the current formation. 6 are listed as forwards, all of whom would be vying for the 1 strikers position.

IMO,Monty served well.Hutch's performances were very average in most games.Caceres hardly set the world on fire? Unfair comment about a player that only played 160 mins in 3 games.Debut V scum(thrown into the deep end after Rogic left), v roar(did well) and v mh = mom and team of the week by Bozza. Not including ACL matches where GA praised his performances. You might disagree but he's our best prospect in the creativity aspect of the game.It has to do with how you interpret football.

Considering Hutch and Monty are both automatic starters, it'll have to be a formation with 2 DMs. The only logical explanation considering our current crop of players is a 4-3-3 IMO:
-------------------------Pasfield------------------- -----Morton--Sainsbury--Anderson--Rose-- ------------Montgomery---Hutchinson---------- --------------------------Flores--------------------- --McGlinchey--------Simon--------Duke--
Thoughts? I'd keep the same players. I think he's an option but only if Sainsbury is sold.

Worried about Morton to be honest. Don't rate him. Maybe Griff to come in and get some game time.
With Flores, would like to see happen but I don't want it to take till final 2 games for him to have a go, ala Mile this past season.

I like the fact we can still field a strong line-up after losing so many players. All we really need is a new GK (Not Reddy pls) and maybe a RB, as I'm not convinced Morton can handle a full season of first-choice RB just yet. Another centre back? For cover at least if Sainsbury doesn't go. There is talk of Matt Thompson. Covers CB/RB/DM.

When you look at these suggested formations , you start to realise that we are going to have difficulty fitting all our talent onto the park. Hope it's true re Flores , can imagine how good a midfield with him and weemac and Fitzgerald somewhere in the mix.

Now obviously Duke isn't a winger but, similar to Taggart at the Jets, he's too good to not start. Either that, or Fitzgerald starts and Duke is subbed on for him or Simon early on in the 60th minute or something :-k
4-2-2-2 with Simon + Duke upfront and Flores + McGlinchey CAMs could work, but would be very narrow...
Thoughts? I don't know, he has Sterj and Fitzgerald Caceres to play with too, and that's before any more signings. Perhaps he will play Monti, Hutch and Caceres as a tight midfield and play three forward players, Flores could play in the middle as a sort of false 9.... :-"

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

It would be interesting to know what the deal was for their front of shirt sponsor (a Chinese water company) going out to such an audience...

CHINA TOWN GOSFORD is now on the map in China, thanks to the AFC Champions League match between the Central Coast Mariners and Guangzhou Evergrande. The Wednesday night game had a live TV audience of 50 million in China - more than double Australia's population. Guangzhou, who won 2-1, are the Chinese equivalent of Manchester United. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/afl/whats-the-buzz-the-afls-197m-debacle/story-fni5f7qq-1226645899142
