Don't offend Marconi's U12 squad...they're probably pretty decent. Their Under 20s truly are quite impressive! And on defence Marconi's 1st grade is solid - they just can't create enough opportunities.

Bankstown have strengthened with two new signings.

Sean Mitchell has come in from Blacktown, apparently because none of their players have been paid in weeks.

Bilal Al Najjarine has been brought over from Lebanese club Najmeh. He was vice captain there and is a current starting defender for the Lebanese national team. He looked an extremely composed and handy defender from his one performance. Hopefully he keeps up the form and Bankstown can onsell him for a tidy profit.

As far as I'm aware, his contract with Sydney Olympic was cut short so he could go to the Gold Coast and link up with Gold Coast United for their pre-season. He flew up hours after his final game against South Coast Wolves.

Shame, I would have liked to have seen him score 10 goals + in this season. I'm still amazed at how he scored 8 goals in 5 odd rounds, then no goals for the rest. He was good for the Premier League, but hopefully he can make a useful career out of it.

The competition doesn't start for 3 months so no reason why he can't continue to play for Olympic rather than train up on the Coast

Nah guys, he's stil with Olympic. He was at the game on the weekend but was resting an ankle he injured. Apparently he has insisted that he plays till the end of the season but going up every odd week to train. It is viable for him to do this because with the assumption that Olympic makes it to the Grand Final, which is obviously the last game of the NSWPL season, that is played in early September. A-league doesn't start till October. So I don't see a problem at all with staying at Olympic till the end of the season.

Ex Olympic player in the 80s

Had a terrible year with Olympic a few yesrs back finished second last for us
and nearly got us relegated we only avoided relegation with 5 games to go
when we signed Nick Carle / Peter Zorbas and Nathan Arrante

I think he has done really well when he coached St George for a few years
in the Super League of memory not 100 per cent sure

Good Luck for the rest of the season
