Ryan made a brilliant double-save, can't find highlights of it anywhere. He was mostly at fault for the first goal, not so much the second. Plenty of crap defending from Brugge.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

He was a squad player when they were absolutely terrible and now is really a reserve player. I think he was most likely to break through at RB but while he was injured Lowton secured that spot last season. Now they play with more wingbacks and new signing Bacuna is doing well there over Lowton so it just looks like Herd has been pushed out really.

He is still injured, as a villa supporter I want him back in the squad but yeh I can't see where either, he would be 3rd choice right back and at the moment 3rd choice as a central midfielder as KEA and Sylla are ahead of him, but I reckon he would be better than those 2.

Cahill and Carney both started. NY won the league by 1 point and now have a bunch of finals games left.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Schwarzer in goal for Chelsea vs Arsenal in the league cup. Both teams with more a B team than full strength.

Ben Halloran is fighting to get into the first XI injuring a teammate who will miss 10-12 weeks, unfortunately it was a central midfielder and not a wide player. In something that is slightly more interesting after the first teams 6-1 drubbing last week Halloran is one of the names as a possible replacement on the left and right sides of the midfield. Here is the injury article, the preview of this article after translation made it seem like Halloran was on crutches. Fortuna-Trainerstab soll sich offenbar dem Vorstand erklären | WAZ.de - Lesen Sie mehr auf: http://www.derwesten.de/sport/lokalsport/duesseldorf/fortuna-trainerstab-soll-sich-offenbar-dem-vorstand-erklaeren-id8616468.html#plx855097254 Quote:Bodzeks Adam foot injury from the Monday workout turned out yesterday after an MRI scan as an external ligament in the right ankle and Syndesmosebandanriss.
Press-blow with Ben Halloran The veteran had been injured by a press-blow with the Australians Ben Halloran shortly before the end of the afternoon practice on Monday, hobbling on crutches yesterday about the plant. Bodzeks downtime in the defensive midfield is classified break at ten to twelve weeks.

his reaction to their 0-2 loss on the weekend http://clubbrugge.be/en/news/16967/reacties-na-club-brugge-krc-genkQuote:"Not happy with my performance"
For the second game in a row Club Brugge left the pitch empty-handed and that's a blow for Mathew Ryan: "Losing, especially at home, is always tough. Especially for me, because I might not have been entirely in the clear with the opening goal. So I can't be satisfied with my performance. Instead of trying to hold the ball, I should have chosen to palm it away. But then again, that player shouldn't have been able to fire at goal from that range so easily. It was perhaps charasteristic for our first-half performance, because we started the game half-hearted. The technical staff adjusted a few things at half-time and we came out of the locker room more lively, with more pressure and attacking spirit looking for the equalizer. But in the end we conceded a second goal on a counterattack. But we can't sit down and think things over for too long because on Thursday we face Cercle Brugge. It's now our job to prepare ourselves mentally for this city derby. Is Genk a contestant for the title? They were already before the start of the season. They bag three important points today." (MV) James HollandI seem to be posting a very similar article for the third time about Austria's big 4 not performing, this one ending with something about the CEO threatening them with changes in January. With Hosiner and Suttner you coudl say he is willing to sell them but I don't know how many teams would buy Holland, I am hoping Koln will come in for him. It could also be them looking at buying replacements for them but looking at their transfer history the most they have net spent in the last few years is 700k normally they make profit on transfers or have under 200k losses so it is hard to see them find 4 decent replacements for very little cash in January. They may spend more because oft he champions league or may sell the first two and get replacements for Holland and Jun. http://sport.oe24.at/fussball/Diese-Austria-Stars-stehen-vor-Abschuss/120523732Quote:29th October 2013 08:31 Quartet must tremble This Austria-Stars are ahead of launch In the previous year performance vehicles, now there are four master kicker before the corner.
Nenad Bjelica throws some of his players following: lack of passion, too low will - it was a Austria not worthy. He announced to eliminate some players. These stars have to shake their job:
Philip Hosiner: In the previous year's top scorer - this year he is not at all going. In the summer he wanted to Hoffenheim - but Austria did not let him go. On the allegations of bjelica: "I do not understand the whole, the will is certainly there."
Markus Suttner: How Hosiner he was not allowed to go in the summer. Now he runs behind his form.
James Holland: The same problem as with Suttner and Hosiner: He looks at his position no competition. Probably the wrong attitude.
Tomas Jun: Struggling with personal problems for weeks. This formlessness hard to keep.
Against Wr. Neustadt is probably just watch this quartet. And AG-boss Mark McClelland provides them with the rod in the window: "In January's transfer time!" Here is another article analysing the game on the weekend, Holland is mentioned a lot in one section but without the images it doesn't makes sense so go to the article to check it out. Here is a small exert which is fine on it's own which I thank many on here will agree with in terms of Holland having 'virtually no influence on the game' and the 'incorrect position of his teammates' isn't too far off Australia either http://www.abseits.at/fusball-in-osterreich/bundesliga/toranalyse-zur-13-runde-der-tipp3-bundesliga-topcagic-boyd-mane/Quote:This results in the ball on the far side of a large open space and for Austria it is a pass in this to prevent. There are indications to the problem mentioned in another article by James Holland (red). Although the Australians occupied the central axis, but has virtually no influence onto the game. It would be extremely important due to the incorrect position of his teammates. Lastly the world game did a section on Holland a few days a go and has some highlights from our players in Europe. Go to 17:30 to see it http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/video/54166083730/The-World-Game-28-OctoberIgnores his bad start to this season which kinda annoys me (I feel aussie media is always very bias in that sense) but good to see them covering our players in Europe. I would also love to have access to his full CL games.

The whole team looks half of what they were last season. Surely the first finger should be pointed at the new manager.

Certainly stood out as a striker of real quality when playing in the Young Socceroos World Cup.

Saw bits and pieces on their site. Has been getting himself into a lot of good positions. At the start of September he scored his first goal since March 2011 (probably near the end of that season for this level of Football). I think he's playing more of a LW/Inside FW role, with Lee at their main striker. 1 goal in 7 games in a team that's leading their u21 League. Lots of skill and chances shown on display from what I read. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20130719/201314-barclays-u21-premier-league-fixtures-results_2269203_3322158

Davidson got an assist in the cup game on Wednesday. Should also note they were playing an amateur side. http://www.rtvoost.nl/sport/betaaldvoetbal.aspx?nid=174623&cat=313Quote:Again Heracles was the better and created the opportunities and occasionally Excelsior was good. However, it was the team that Almelo scored again and again it was Uth. This time on a pass from Davidson.

Tony Mowbray no longer Middleborough manager.Mark Venus the assistant has taken over for now and played Rhys at right back against Doncaster in their 4-0 win. Much improved performance from Rhys after a poor season thus far. Hopefully he can spend some extended time there at RB to grow into that role. We'd all agree he should have been in the EPL by now with his talent but with injury and form he seems to just be a part of the furniture at Boro.Disappointing
Not sure he has the engines to play RB for Ange though and would love to see how he'd go next to Milligan in the middle.

just a preview article for BvB II's game this weekend. Quote:"Dortmund plays basically the philosophy of the professional team" opponents Borussia Dortmund II has been able to prove genuine surprise team. With the tenth place in the table, the charges of coach David Wagner are very appealing dar. Angry characterizes the upcoming opponent as follows: "Dortmund plays basically the philosophy of the professional team, even if the happy times BVB II focuses on long balls. In defense, Thomas Meissner is a fixed point, in the middle, these are the central player David SOLGA and Mustafa Amini. Attacking the enemy with Marvin Duksch much quality and Bálint Bajner has a real edge forward in it. Only posting it as Amini started off slowly and having his name down as one of two starters in central midfield shows that he has really secured his spot and his importance to his team. http://www.3-liga.com/news-3liga-rb-leipzig-will-gegen-bvb-ii-aus-den-fehlern-gegen-chemnitz-lernen-8566.html

a look at Dortmund's youth academy from the official Bundesliga channel. Doesn't go into any players that haven't been in the first team but I think it is interesting as a look at what sort of support Amini has. You see him a few times in the video.
