Ryan made a brilliant double-save, can't find highlights of it anywhere. He was mostly at fault for the first goal, not so much the second. Plenty of crap defending from Brugge.

no he has sorta just missed his chance. Aston Villa have gotten better and he hasn't. He was a squad player when they were absolutely terrible and now is really a reserve player. I think he was most likely to break through at RB but while he was injured Lowton secured that spot last season. Now they play with more wingbacks and new signing Bacuna is doing well there over Lowton so it just looks like Herd has been pushed out really.

He is still injured, as a villa supporter I want him back in the squad but yeh I can't see where either, he would be 3rd choice right back and at the moment 3rd choice as a central midfielder as KEA and Sylla are ahead of him, but I reckon he would be better than those 2.

Cahill and Carney both started. NY won the league by 1 point and now have a bunch of finals games left.

Schwarzer in goal for Chelsea vs Arsenal in the league cup. Both teams with more a B team than full strength.

Didn't get a run but what an encouraging sign for the kid.

Ben Halloran is fighting to get into the first XI injuring a teammate who will miss 10-12 weeks, unfortunately it was a central midfielder and not a wide player. In something that is slightly more interesting after the first teams 6-1 drubbing last week Halloran is one of the names as a possible replacement on the left and right sides of the midfield.

James Holland
I seem to be posting a very similar article for the third time about Austria's big 4 not performing, this one ending with something about the CEO threatening them with changes in January. With Hosiner and Suttner you coudl say he is willing to sell them but I don't know how many teams would buy Holland, I am hoping Koln will come in for him.

It could also be them looking at buying replacements for them but looking at their transfer history the most they have net spent in the last few years is 700k normally they make profit on transfers or have under 200k losses so it is hard to see them find 4 decent replacements for very little cash in January. They may spend more because oft he champions league or may sell the first two and get replacements for Holland and Jun.

Ignores his bad start to this season which kinda annoys me (I feel aussie media is always very bias in that sense) but good to see them covering our players in Europe. I would also love to have access to his full CL games.

The whole team looks half of what they were last season. Surely the first finger should be pointed at the new manager.

Has Dylan Tombides being playing for West Ham U21s? If so, has he been playing well?

On the bench for West Ham in League Cup win v Burnley.

Hopefully Dylan Tombides makes his first team debut and a potential Champion. Needs to be careful given recent experiences, but certainly an option for Ange to consider for Brazil. Certainly stood out as a striker of real quality when playing in the Young Socceroos World Cup.

Saw bits and pieces on their site. Has been getting himself into a lot of good positions.

At the start of September he scored his first goal since March 2011 (probably near the end of that season for this level of Football). I think he's playing more of a LW/Inside FW role, with Lee at their main striker. 1 goal in 7 games in a team that's leading their u21 League. Lots of skill and chances shown on display from what I read.

Tony Mowbray no longer Middleborough manager.Mark Venus the assistant has taken over for now and played Rhys at right back against Doncaster in their 4-0 win.
Much improved performance from Rhys after a poor season thus far.
Hopefully he can spend some extended time there at RB to grow into that role.
We'd all agree he should have been in the EPL by now with his talent but with injury and form he seems to just be a part of the furniture at Boro.Disappointing

Not sure he has the engines to play RB for Ange though and would love to see how he'd go next to Milligan in the middle.

he was playing RB when he was at burnley wasnt he? I think he has always done well there.

Club Brugge aren't going to well at the moment, I think that's 4 losses in a row now. Not good.

a look at Dortmund's youth academy from the official Bundesliga channel. Doesn't go into any players that haven't been in the first team but I think it is interesting as a look at what sort of support Amini has. You see him a few times in the video.
