The list of my many connections is confidential information.

When Kevin Bacon plays '7 degrees of separation' Bowden is his go to guy.

If you ever get stuck in 7 degrees of kevin bacon you just revert to Bowden.

I've met a whole bunch of musos through hospo and nightclub connections. Nate Campbell (Gudinski's DJ protege), Rob Caggiano and Volbeat to name a couple. I see a bunch of the guys from Taxiride regularly. Lots of AFL players, the North Melbourne footballers used to come into one of my old bars on Mad Monday.

The guys I meet through the strip clubs are always the interesting ones though  I was partying with the owner of CQ and a couple of his import buddies last weekend.

Man what happened with those guys. They were a solid band..made some good hits....then they disappeared off the face of the planet.

Drugs. The Bassist wrote a lot of their songs and he's a smackhead.

Such a shame...they were a good band. i still listen to their songs.

I think their main hit was featured on that Matthew Broderick movie.

Imaginate was a quality album. Aussie rock was going great guns back then. Do you still have a copy of it? I can't find mine (I moved house three times in 12 months a couple of years ago so a lot of shit got lost and misplaced.

On the subject of Aussie Bands, I listened to 1927 do a live gig on youtube (Im pretty sure) and the lead singer still sounds exactly the same.
They're doing pub gigs at the moment. They were another great Aussie Band.

I thought Bachelor Girl was ok too. They had some good hits.

Memories of Taxiride include getting up at ridiculous hours of a Saturday morning and watching 'Creeping Up Slowly on Rage. IIRC it was on in-between Vanessa Carlton's 'thousand miles', and 'Tenacious D's 'Tribute'.

'Dem memories.

+1. The early 2000s were a golden era for Aussie Bands.

Heck I even remember Madison Avenue. Geez that girl was sexy.

I remember the women's booties shakin at the clubs to that song "Don't Call me Baby". Love it!

Aussie music has always been pretty good IMO. To be honest 75-80% of what I listen to is Australian music. We have such a strong industry over here, and it's only getting better right now for those of us who enjoy alternative and indie/folk music.

+1. To be honest though I think it was Savage Garden and Silverchair who really broke through the US market for the Aussies. Prior to that it was a struggle in particular for the Aussie bands in the early 90s.
I remember Johnny Diesel was one guy I thought who was way underrated for an artist and deserved more plaudits for his music.
