For rugby league fans: I'm a close family friend of David Simmons. Played pool against Keith Galloway at his wedding in 2005  My godmother's husband's uncle was Don Bradman  My cousin is a former footballer, still involved in the game. Went to school with a few FutsalRoos. Played with and against the Soloman Islands Futsal captain and their national team. Leigh Hatcher who recently retired from Sky news is a family friend. My cousin's wife is the former head cheerleader for the Denver Nuggets.
That's about it for me I think

I met Bowden once, also shook Ruben Zadkovich's hand and said 'well done son' when they flogged Sydney a few years ago
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Bit of a flashback but I've always wondered if I ever played against Holland or Bozanic. I was born the same year and player for Terrigal in the u10/11s. Anyone know which clubs they played for?
My dad once drove Bozza in his taxi while he was staying in Terrigal during his Mariners stint. Really cheerful bloke apparently.

Played U-11s with Scott Galloway and Riley Woodcock and Jacob Collard (Glory Youth POTY for season just gone).
My best mate's mum is the cousin of Robert Smith from The Cure.
Have met a fair few musicians from going to the airport when they fly in to Perth. James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins/A Perfect Circle), Moose (Bullet For My Valentine), Jeremy McKinnon and Kevin Scaff (A Day to Remember), Ryan Key (the guy in my dp), Sean Mackin, Longineu Parsons and Josh Portman (Yellowcard), Josh Dunn and Tyler Joseph (Twenty One Pilots), Josh Francesci, Chris Miller, Max Helyer and Matt Barnes (You Me At Six) and Jason Aalon and Jean Nascimento (Letlive.)

Was in the SA under 18s before doing my knee, so a whole bunch of afl players. Eddie maguire told me that he remembered my name from Collingwood scouting when I met him. Ben folds ex wife was a good family friend so he came over to my house a few times and we always got backstage passes to his shows, gave Liam Finn a ride to his hotel after one said show. Who's that surfy chef who's on oprah or letterman or whatever? Curtis something. Well, him too a couple of times during first season of My restaurant rules. Finally, guys from empire of the sun as my brothers BFF was their drummer on tour (also one half of The Swiss) check them out if u get the chance.

I know Oli went to St Eddies high school. Holland lived up Buff Point way, so probably went to a school and played for a team more north than your average coastie. I was on the ski tube at perisher when I noticed abc grandstand's peter Wilkins was on his way after a long day on the ski fields
We talked about why he wasn't on the coverage for the shute shield on that afternoon
Or how I enjoyed tuning into northern grandstand on the internet streaming (rugby codes) when I was staying in perth (afl) :D

On the subject of Aussie Bands, I listened to 1927 do a live gig on youtube (Im pretty sure) and the lead singer still sounds exactly the same. They're doing pub gigs at the moment. They were another great Aussie Band.
I thought Bachelor Girl was ok too. They had some good hits.

Memories of Taxiride include getting up at ridiculous hours of a Saturday morning and watching ' Creeping Up Slowly on Rage. IIRC it was on in-between Vanessa Carlton's 'thousand miles', and 'Tenacious D's 'Tribute'. 'Dem memories.

Creepin' Up Slowly and Get Set were classics! Such a shame that Taxiride and Killing Heidi dropped off the scene from that era. Both awesome bands.

So I'm at work tonight, and who should stroll into the bar. None other than the BEAST FROM CANOWINDRA himself, Rhyan Grant. Found out he's living in Balmain. Came into the pub with a mate and his missus (who is smoking, I might add). Had a nice little convo with him. Ripped it up on the dancefloor. Top, top bloke. Will never have to pay for a drink if I see him in the pub. Mind you, I don't think any Sydney FC player would ever have to pay for a drink should they walk in.

Did INXS have hits that stayed on the US charts for long though? I remember Savage Garden's song "I want you" stayed in the Billboard Charts for ages. I remember listening to Rick Dees on 104.1 Sydney and they flogged that song to death.

Aurelio and Tony Vidmar have a thrid brother Andrew who decide to play Aussie Rules growing up. His a sparky now and we've used him a few times. His wife is a customer.
My father in law is mates with John Kosmina. I scored tickets in the AU box when he was in charge of SFC through him at Coopers stadium.
I played junior football with Adriano Pellegrino. His Dad was our coach.
My Dad coached Lucas Pantelis in under12s.

Six made the Top 10 and three reached No. 1, including her signature hit "I Am Woman".[1] She placed 25 songs on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Fifteen made the Top 10 and eight reached No. 1, six consecutively. She was the first artist to win the coveted American Music Award for "Favorite Pop/Rock Female" artist. Eleven of her singles (including two platinum) and 14 of her albums (including two platinum and four double platinum) have been certified gold by the RIAA. Should mention that I personally know most of the leadership in the federal and state ALP. Not something to be proud of, but there it is. Have also met Martin Amis, Rushdie, and Jose Ramos Horta at one point.

So a few weeks I had Rhyan Grant come through my bar. Tonight I had David Warner. He came in to watch the Parramatta v Dogs game. He was in with a mate who looks like a fucking Yoga teacher. He was sporting a pretty healthy looking beard. He clearly didn't want anyone to recognize him, because he wasn't that joyful when I picked up on who he was.   Edited by Heineken: 16/8/2014 03:42:11 AM

About ten years ago I was working at a car wash and a couple of famous people came through. Two were sterling mortlock and kamahl. But the best was robbie slater. Very nice guy. Talked for a good ten minutes about football, was really engaging and interesting. He made my day.
Genuine down to earth nice guy.

Genuine down to earth nice guy. I ran into Andy Harper about 6 years ago at Etihad. I was coming out of the loo (lvl 2 corporate box section) and he was walking in and we did the whole awkward walk into each other and both try to go around and you end up going the same way thing. After a quick chuckle I realized who it was and gave him a "Harps!" I think he was stoked that someone recognised him.
