Done! That was a bitch! Because NSW's later rounds are like "Match 103" and whatnot, I had to do all the mathematics to convert them back to lower numbers each round. Fuck you, Football NSW!

Balmain Tigers FC (Match 49) get the bye. Which means we go onto play Match 89: Balmain (M49) v (M26) Glenmore Park FC (who also had the bye) Fraser Park v Bonnyrigg White Eagles. Keeeeeeeen. Portugal v Serbia. Balmain FC play at Wentworth Park in Glebe, so keen to maybe go along to this one! When will the date for it be? i didn't understand why they kept pulling names out and kept saying they have the bye. What does that mean? Does a whole heap of teams get to sit out the first round?

They set it up to have 56 winners go through to the next round (in the memo saying entries were open) to play the 24 NPL1/2 teams. But not enough teams under NPL2 entered to have 56 games, so they gave 16 of them byes to make up the numbers. By the way, the Waratah Cup isn't on this year, is it? I thought it might be like Victoria where they decide the teams that qualify and THEN begin the local Cup with only the teams through. But that'd be difficult with 5 teams left...

A good draw for Wagga City. If they can get past Shire team Loftus Yarrawarrah in the first game played on a weekend, they then potentially have 3 consecutive home Wednesday night games down in Wagga. Would be interesting the quality of players clubs can get onto the park with 10-12 hour return trips to Wagga mid-week. Also no teams above State League 2 until the 6th round. Only mid-week trip to Sydney would be in round 7 if they are still alive. Although South Coast Wolves in Rd 6 would probably end them despite the trip to Wagga.

Imagine Parramatta FC vs WSW? Melbourne City vs Melbourne City? A shame really that the two Victorian youth teams couldn't enter, we could have had three Melbourne City's! (And more importantly, two chances for the Victory :P) By the way, there's been a lot of debate so far on each state's system, I'm curious what you all think is the best one (of the six that have been announced). I've set up a strawpoll here, so if you have a particular opinion feel free to vote: http://strawpoll.me/3622193

Regionalised qualifying in the early rounds, but then all teams coming together in the final rounds so that the best clubs qualify no matter of their location (unlike the Qld regional qualifying all the way through that ensures regional clubs may qualify at the expense of better Brisbane clubs). All of WA's round are played on the weekend (or Monday of long weekends) as well, meaning no issues with mid-week travel. This is the only format that will increase the numbers of competing clubs in NSW and Vic. There are about 115 clubs in regional NSW (outside Sydney, Wollongong and Central Coast), the only 3 to enter were the 3 State League Clubs. Similarly in Vic of the 74 or so non NPL/State League clubs in regional areas only 1 has entered. Edited by thewitness: 13/2/2015 07:26:20 AM

Tasmania and ACT are also like that, but covering a smaller area and having less clubs helps. Northern NSW is also really good, except for the pooling of clubs to get a certain number of clubs from each area (e.g. in the Southern pool 3 clubs are guaranteed to be non-NPL). Queensland is also pretty good, except that they should all come together for the final qualification games. NSW and Victoria I think have the biggest change to make to really open it up to more clubs.
