We dominated for the full 90 minutes but right at the death one of my substitutes makes the stupid decision to drag down Martin in the box. On the good side our corner tactic worked well, producing a goal from our smallest player (Busby) in the first half. Their goal was a stroke of brilliance, no keeper in the world would have stopped that. Again milan_7 was the man to set up our 2nd, getting his 2nd assist of the game. It was just a shame that we conceded that penalty so late in a game where we deserved to win. Stevenage 1-4 FourFourTwo FC [CAPITAL ONE CUP]Goalscorers: Jon Ashton (5) Jparraga (25) Macktheknife (pen 36’) Gabgabgab39 (43’, 68’) MOTM: Gabgabgab39 Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, quichefc, Glory von Perth (The Maco 89’), scouse_roar, chillbilly, zimbos_05 (Draupinho 89’), jparraga, Terry-McFlynn Redkat (milan_7 60’), macktheknife, gabgabgab39 Coach’s Summary: Today was a good test for us, and we delivered. An away day at one of the minnows of English football, a terrible pitch and freezing conditions, but we still delivered. I decided to rotate because of injuries and because a lot of players struggling for fitness, but we were still excellent for the majority of the game. What was worrying though was our performance in the first 6 minutes. They hit the post after 18 seconds, disallowed goal after a minute and then they of course scored on 5 minutes, which forced me to make changes. I instructed our keeper to stop trying to play the ball to Glory von Perth, and to start trying to launch attacks himself instead and it worked. A nice header from Jparraga and a penalty from mack changed the game. Then of course gab got his two goals, one being a scintillating free kick, and that was the game. A dominating performance with a lot of possession was exactly what we needed. Charlton 2-1 FourFourTwo FC Goalscorers: Macktheknife (pen 34’) Igor Vetokele (49’, 59’) MOTM: 99 Problems Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, pv4, The Maco, scouse_roar, Draupinho, zimbos_05, BusbyBabe (jparraga 21’), chillbilly, macktheknife, gabgabgab39 Coach’s Summary: Another poor day for us. The game started poorly with Busby picking up an injury early on, forcing me to bring on a very tired Jparraga. We then got what was a very controversial penalty and mack once again converted from the spot to take us into the break with an underserved lead, having had just 3 shots compared to their 11. They came out firing in the second half though, with Vetokele netting a quickfire double due to some poor defending and questionable refereeing. From that point on however, we dominated the game and had an incredible 12 shots in the second half compared to their 5. The effort was not good enough though, as we still succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. It is disappointing for us because for a club that wants to finish in the playoffs, this is not good enough. FourFourTwo FC 2-1 BlackburnGoalscorers: Gabgabgab39 (7’) Macktheknife (23’) Jordan Rhodes (90 +3) MOTM: macktheknife Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, pv4, The Maco, scouse_roar (Roar_Brisbane 21’), Draupinho (quichefc 74’), zimbos_05, BusbyBabe, chillbilly (milan_7 83’), macktheknife, gabgabgab39 Coach’s Summary: What a performance! The scoreboard may only say that we won 2-1 but with a performance like that it feels like 6-1. We started well with gabgabgab39 getting a real striker’s goal as well as macktheknife getting his 3rd goal in three games with an absolute beauty from 20 yards out. He cut inside onto his favoured right foot and smashed it into the roof of the net. We continued to dominate the rest of the match despite the injury to scouse_roar, and in the end should have been 3 or 4 goals up by the time Rhodes scored a consolation goal in the last minute. Our first league win of the season and it feels great! Bolton 0–0 FourFourTwo FCMOTM: 99 Problems Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, pv4, 99 Problems, Roar_Brisbane, Glory von Perth, zimbos_05, jparraga, milan_7, macktheknife, 11.mvfc.11 (gabgabgab39 63’) Coach’s Summary: Well that was boring, a bore draw where we didn’t produce anything more than a half chance. We had just under twenty shots yet twelve of those were outside the penalty area. Despite them having less shots than us, they definitely had the better chances. Scoring one disallowed goal and hitting the woodwork twice. The performance was not good enough and with a very short turn around before the Capital One Cup tie with West Brom we need to improve. West Brom 3–2 FourFourTwo FC [CAPITAL ONE CUP]Goalscorers: Milan_7 (5’) James Morrison (22’) Macktheknife (23’) Saido Berahino (pen 40’, 69’) MOTM: macktheknife Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, pv4, The Maco, Roar_Brisbane, Draupinho, zimbos_05, BusbyBabe, milan_7, macktheknife, 11.mvfc.11 (gabgabgab39 67’) Coach’s Summary: I am absolutely devastated. We went to the Hawthorns and played football the right way, a feat which I am proud of, yet they snatched the win out of our grasp. We lead twice thanks to goals from our captain and macktheknife, mack’s being one of the best goals I have seen live. Our defending cost us though and Berahino showed why he could be a future England star. I also disagreed with the referee’s decision to give them a penalty for a handball from Roar_Brisbane. I can’t fault their effort. FourFourTwo FC 5–3 BrentfordGoalscorers: 99 Problems (7’) Milan_7 (19’) BusbyBabe (27’) Alex Pritchard (51’) Tommy Smith (56’) Macktheknife (67’, 85’) Toumani Diagouraga (71’) MOTM: macktheknife Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, pv4, 99 Problems, Roar_Brisbane, Draupinho (quichefc 75’), zimbos_05, BusbyBabe (chillbilly 63’), milan_7, macktheknife, 11.mvfc.11 (gabgabgab39 67’) Coach’s Summary: Wow what a game! It started off brilliantly with goals from 99 Problems, milan_7 and BusbyBabe, and going into half time we were flying. But when Brentford netted two in five minutes after half time, we were worried and made a few tactical changes. The changes paid dividends when macktheknife let rip with yet another right footed thunderbolt to surely put the game beyond all doubt. When that bloke with the really long name scored however, we were once again anxious of a comeback. With five minutes left though, macktheknife netted his second of the game and his 6th of the season with a goal at the near post. It was a fantastic game for the neutral but not so good for my heart as our defence was very shaky. TABLE1. Brighton PTS 13 2. Norwich PTS 12

SEPTEMBER UPDATEBournemouth 3-2 FourFourTwo FCGoalscorers: Callum Wilson (17, 40) Macktheknife (32) Matt Ritchie (47) BusbyBabe (68) MOTM: macktheknife Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, pv4, The Maco, Roar_Brisbane, Draupinho, Glory von Perth, BusbyBabe, milan_7, macktheknife, 11.mvfc.11 Coach’s Summary: A very poor performance from us today where I admit to being tactically outclassed. We played our usual 4-2-3-1 with an almost full strength XI. They played a 4-4-2 and we were left outnumbered out the back as their wingers pushed on to create a 4 v 4 at the back. It was only after their third goal did I put in a DM and changed to a more direct style. It was too little, too late though as our late comeback was cancelled out by some excellent work from their keeper. FourFourTwo FC 4-2 RotherhamGoalscorers: BusbyBabe (28, 82) 11.mvfc.11 (49, 89) Jordan Bowery (81,90) MOTM: BusbyBabe Starting XI: A16Man, Fredsta, pv4, 99 Problems, Roar_Brisbane, quichefc (Draupinho 75), zimbos_05, chillbilly, BusbyBabe, macktheknife, 11.mvfc.11 Coach’s Summary: Back on track! Rotherham set up with the same formation that Bournemouth did, so we played with a defensively shaped 4-3-3 with two defensive midfielders. Our squad was very tired because of our recent glut of games and that reflected in our shambolic final 10 minutes. The highlights of the game where a brilliant game from Busby, who scored two (one being a scintillating free kick) and got one assist to earn the MOTM award, and also the high amount of possession and shots we enjoyed. We were at times guilty of shooting in the wrong situations though, with over half of our 27 shots being off target. Huddersfield 2–1 FourFourTwo FCGoalscorers: Jparraga (25’) Nakhi Wells (77’) Sean Scannell (84’) MOTM: jparraga Starting XI: A16Man, The Maco, pv4, Glory von Perth, scouse_roar, Draupinho, chillbilly (zimbos_05 76’), jparraga, milan_7 (macktheknife 37’), Redkat, gabgabgab39 Coach’s Summary: Our worst performance of the season yielded by far the worst result. From minute 1 we were not good enough, but for a large part of the game we still looked like we were going to win until a slight injury to A16Man put him off his game and he let in two cheap goals. We lost our captain early on, and had to bring on an unfit macktheknife on, what made this worse is that milan_7 was the man who set up our first goal as well. We came in as heavy favourites, and this result is far from good enough. I expect better next time out. In other news A16Man (groin) and milan_7 (knee) are out for four weeks due to their injuries. FourFourTwo FC 2-1 WolvesGoalscorers: 11.mvfc.11 (36, 87) Nouha Dicko (39) MOTM: 11.mvfc.11 Starting XI: Darren Kavangh, Fredsta, pv4, 99 Problems, Roar_Brisbane, Draupinho (quichefc 83’), zimbos_05, BusbyBabe, chillbilly, macktheknife, 11.mvfc.11 Coach’s Summary: With our two main keepers out, we were going to need to be clinical and dominate the match. We may not have been the former, but we were most definitely the latter. We dominated the game from start to finish and with a few minutes to go it looked like we were going to pay for a bad decision from the linesman and our lack of cutting edge in front of goal, until 11.mvfc.11 showed up to score a late winner from a quichefc assist. He (11.mvfc.11) was excellent all day and definitely deserving of the MOTM award as he led us to a win that meant we leapfrog Wolves and go into the playoff spots. Derby 2–2 FourFourTwo FCGoalscorers: 11.mvfc (29’, 59’) Gael Bigirimana (45’) Simon Dawkins (56’) MOTM:11.mvfc.11 Starting XI: Darren Kavangh, Fredsta, The Maco, quichefc, Roar_Brisbane, Glory von Perth, zimbos_05, BusbyBabe (Jparraga 82’), chillbilly (Redkat 59’), macktheknife, 11.mvfc.11 Coach’s Summary: Once again we had 11.mvfc.11 to thank as he salvaged us a point in a very even affair at Pride Park. He opened the scoring inside half an hour after zimbos_05 played a delicious through ball to the striker which he finished off with a side-footed shot from a tight angle. But just before the break it went pair shaped as we lost our structure for Bigirimana to slot it past our stand in keeper. After a strong first half, I congratulated the boys on a good half of football but this proved to be a poor decision as we fell asleep for their second goal of the match. But just as I was making some tactical and personell changes, 11.mvfc.11 converted his 4th goal in 180 minutes to make it 2-2. Despite a catalogue of chances in the last half hour, neither team could find the back of the net again and to be fair a draw was probably the right result. TABLE1. Norwich PTS 24 2. Wigan PTS 20 3.
