THIS time, he didn’t get high. He got booked.
One-hit wonder Afroman, aka Joseph Foreman, has been charged with assault after punching a female fan in the face — and the footage isn’t pretty.
Foreman was performing at a post-mardi gras parade show in Biloxo, Mississippi, when the fan gatecrashes the stage, drink in hand.
As she begins to bump and grind against Foreman, he snaps and slugs her in the face, knocking her to the ground.

He plays on as the disoriented gatecrasher, who TMZ reports was “bleeding and crying”, gets up and wobbles off stage.
It’s also reported the singer continued to perform “until the house lights came on and the music stopped”.
Foreman was arrested outside the venue.
Joseph Edgar Foreman more known as Afroman Punches girl on stage

Reports indicate that immediately after the incident the victim made a citizen’s arrest against the entertainer, who was formally charged by police on a misdemeanour simple assault. The unidentified woman later filed an affidavit against the forty-year-old.
Yet Foreman’s rep noted security has been an ongoing issue at his concerts, with a number of fans gatecrashing the stage on previous tours.
“This was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space,” his rep said told Billboard.
“It was uncharacteristic behaviour that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces.”
Foreman was released from jail after posting a $330 bond.

“Afroman was about five songs into his set when the incident occurred,” Chase Taylor, who owns the venue where the incident took place, told WLOX News.
“We pulled the plug on him, and security met him at the bottom of the stage to escort him outside, where he was taken into custody.
“Kress Live does not condone this type of behaviour. We like to keep a safe environment, and we addressed the situation the best way we could.”
Foreman gave authorities “no problem whatsoever” while incarcerated, said Biloxi’s police chief.
In even more shocking news, Afroman’s song Because I Got High was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance in 2002.

If a dude climbed onto the stage whilst Taylor Swift was performing and starting rubbing his arse on her, would she get charged for hitting him?

Is there not laws/rules for getting on stage in the same regard as crossing onto a playing field at a football game?

If she was able to knock him to the ground and cause him to bleed, probably.

No she wouldn't, she's already a darling of social media and would be universally lauded for standing up for women if she managed to put the guy on his arse.

The media and the more radical femos for sure will laud her.

The police will definitely charge her with assault. If there was video evidence like there is here, there's no doubt she's used excessive force and would get a conviction.

For the overly precious men speculating on here, common assault generally requires a complaint from the victim unless the harm is considered significant by authorities. For example, the victim is "bleeding and crying." If Swift took a swing at a guy, who either received appreciable harm or reported the incident to police they would be obliged to charge her with assault. It is unlikely, despite her badassery, that someone of her frame could cause appreciable harm to your average male with a single swing however.

I'd speculate if the average guy got punched by T-Swift he would likely just boast about getting close to her rather than file a complaint. If she continued to beat on him (or used a mic/mic stand as a weapon) then yeah, damage is highly likely and she would most definitely be charged with assault.

He's clearly at no risk. Mo might be in the minority here but I'm not for all things equality if it means stuff like this is all good. I just don't think I could ever beat a woman. Sure in an extreme example I'm all for guys being able to defend themselves and they shouldn't be judged if they have no other choice. But this guy went wayyyy over the line.

He reacted to a threat behind his back. He wasnt going to sus if she had a gash or a cock before reacting. And he wasnt going to weigh her and ask her medical questions either.

My views on this are that I wouldn't think any differently if it was a guy who got up there, did similar, and got similar. The person who did it, who happens to be female, is an idiot and deserved it.

You guys come across like a bunch of small pricked losers with this crap. His response/reaction was excessive and equates to assault. Equality has nothing to do with it.

I generally agree, but the outcry would be much less if he had done the same to a man.

You know why? Because the world doesn't respect women and see them as damsels that need to be saved. When anyone dare try to put them on equal footing and expose them to the same standards that men face every day, they are shouted down as misogynist neckbeards.

Funny that.

Yeah I fully agree about the outcry being less. I'm sure someone will give us a well balanced explanation on why that means we hate women though.

I would 100% agree with TSF, except I thought he had a look, saw he wasn't at risk and still let fly.

He used excessive force so I believe he should be charged with assault, but I also agree that he should receive the same punishment if he knocked a guy out or if he knocked a woman out. And he should also be treated the same in the media if he had knocked a guy out, but he won't. We should be equally appalled by excessive acts of violence such as this one.

It was a natural reaction for him considering she wasn't meant to be there and he was spooked.

You think a natural reaction for someone coming up behind you unexpectedly in a public place is to roundhouse punch them square in the face so hard that it knocks them off their feet?

When I'm a performer on a stage and there are security guards to stop people from getting on said stage; yeah more than likely. I don't know what the fuck is going on, plus I'm a dude who's smoke dope all my life lol.

I think the law will determine that it wasn't a reasonable reaction in this case. The dope smoking defence would be a brave but entertaining one

If there's security guards there to stop people why wouldn't you let them do their job? How is having your brain frazzled because of drug use an acceptable excuse?
