Yes, there are some people who are what you call "stupid". They didn't do well at school and probably got involved with the law - lots of the time due to growing up in adverse circumstances such as single parenthood and poor financial situations. For them, these jobs are their only goal is to get a stable job and get a decent shot at life.

What happens when you get mass immigration, is that the labour pool increases and employers can afford to pay you less. "Oh, you can't afford to work for $18 an hour? Well, Sanjiv over here will do it underhand for only $5 bucks an hour!" So basically you've priced the working class out of work in favour of cheap foreign labour. Think this is an exaggeration? Look up 457 rorting and the 7-11 story recently.

That tired argument is trotted out by large multinationals to justify this mass import of cheap labour. It's not "Australians don't to work", it's more like "Australians don't want to work for dirt cheap like foreigners will!"

Well, there is a minimum wage. I have worked with refugees and what they do is just work lots of hours, so say 50 hours at $20 is a grand a week, any Aussie could do it and I myself have done it. It is shit, makes you hate people but it is better than being an ignorant cock.

No I was entirely serious. I was commenting on the fact that we are supposedly only taking persecuted minority groups. The Christian Syrians are in the good eyes of the government, so I'd assume they'd be a well-educated moderate bunch.

When everyone is desperate and willing to take any work, the pressure should be on employers to not be shit kents willing to break the law.
