Guarantee a seat at the biggest Sydney Derby ever with a Membership (on sale Monday): http://bit.ly/2aFoux8 #WSW

So nearly 15k renewals from just over 18k ticketed members in 2015 . renewal rate over %80.

That has to be a league record for renewals?

right now we got 14916 which is pretty good but it will be interesting to see how far that goes up when its sold to the public, i could be wrong but i am surprised they have not done an ANZ only membership maybe they will once all the memberships sell out for Spotless, honestly spotless is one of the best abandoned stadiums in the world imo but soon it wont be abandoned

i wonder what our cap is

Hopefully Brisbane will come good this year. They'll either make or break the totals.

But I don't blame the fans for boycotting.

As we are now entering the last 10 weeks of the off season, I figured it would be an opportune time to start tracking memberships more closely. I'll try and update once or twice a week in full.

A couple of early points, no big surprise that the worst membership performers last year are still too afraid to release their current figures. This tells me that things aren't looking good for them at this stage. The exception would have to be City who I assume have a plan with the announcement of Cahill and the other mystery marquee in the coming weeks.

I think this season we will see gains from the following clubs:

WSW
Newcastle
Adelaide
Perth
Melbourne City

We'll see a drop for the following clubs:

Melb Victory
CCM

Unsure/remain relatively stagnant for the following clubs:

Sydney FC
Brisbane
Wellington

Overall we SHOULD see an increase from last year, but I am not certain at this stage whether we'll crack the 14/15 record. Much of that will be determined by CIty and the FFA imo as no other club is going to do anything to really make any real headlines.

Either way, bit of a trend seeing shit performing clubs (memberships wise) and the lack of details they want to provide public, or like I said just generally too disorganised.

No worries Burztur. I figured people on here like tracking the membership stats so I have no problem going the extra step. I also find the A-league site can sometimes be a bit slow or delayed so hopefully the data I can supply is a lil more up to date.

Updating the stats can be quite fun. I'm a dork when it comes to monitoring stats.

But you may take the reigns Davo. You did a good job last year. I'll throw a few updates your way as I come across them ;)

Absolutely it's because the club is a clusterfuck and disorganised. At the end of the day though, memberships will be similar to last years figures and as it's been since the A League started, Brisbane will sit somewhere around the 3rd highest crowds in the league. Memberships really are irrelevant.

Wanderers aiming for 20,000 members this season.  15,719 signed up so far.

With memberships for the 2016/17 Hyundai A-League season officially going on sale this week, the Wanderers already sit on more than 13,000 members auto-renewed their memberships last month.

Mr Tsatsimas said the anticipation surrounding the opening round derby with Sydney FC and temporary move to Sydney Olympic Park is driving membership sales.

“With our temporary move to Sydney Olympic Park this season we are aiming to hit 20,000 members,” he said.[/quote]

Genuinely worried about Brisbane..

Why? Memberships aren't even on sale yet.

I wonder why though. If they had great news they would be sprouting it. Why are they taking so long?? That's the real question. If it's because they are so disorganised then that's a worrying sign. Either way, bit of a trend seeing shit performing clubs (memberships wise) and the lack of details they want to provide public, or like I said just generally too disorganised.

Absolutely it's because the club is a clusterfuck and disorganised. At the end of the day though, memberships will be similar to last years figures and as it's been since the A League started, Brisbane will sit somewhere around the 3rd highest crowds in the league. Memberships really are irrelevant.

You pretty much answered your question that was posed to me..

WSW looking really good. Can't see them not hitting 20k this season.

Pretty god damn good for a club that young. Just goes to show that putting a club in the right location will pay off.

What's the demand like in south/southwest Sydney for a new team? I've never been there so I can't comment, but would it have the same effect as Wanderers?

There's good reason to be worried about Brisbane. Cobb appears to be alienating the fans, coaches and players - I'd be confident in most of last seasons members returning (say 4K) but can't see anyone else flocking to the cause especially those fans who were protesting against the Bakries last season.

it would be impressive if we could, it sure as hell helped that we all needed to be members to attend matches and that is why i think we are such a high membership club if we could just buy tickets from the start i think our membership would be down 3 to 5 k i could be wrong though

south west sydney is an interesting prospect because i know a lot of our fans come from that region but a lot of our fans come from penrith and blacktown so i think maybe if a south west sydney team was created we would lose maybe 1000 fans from that area perhaps but we would gain a lot more because its such a footballish area i think there is easily enough room for the wanderers and South West Sydney Drug Deals Gone Wrong or SWSDDGW for short
