A bit of a slow down this past week by only growing by 2k whereas previously we pushed around the 4k weekly mark.

Something strange happened this week with WSW only growing 50 odd. Something can't be right there. Any members able to shed some light? It's not as if they have hit the cap yet.

Expect more of a jump from Victory fans once the Essien deal is confirmed. Could also jolt City a bit too.

Perth and Mariners the two most disappointing this week.

On another front the two long standing disappointments thus far has to be Adelaide and Wellington. Neither had bad seasons last year yet they really can't seem to make any real impact on the membership front. Sydney FC isn't doing that well either, however we are being told from Pignata that they are on target to break the record this season. I have my doubts but we'll see.

Overall though, we are looking better than last year with only a few 1000 to go before matching previous year tally's for start of season. Should be at second highest tally by next week. The season is looking pretty rosy, and if we can avoid any major off field drama up in Brisbane or Newcastle we should be right.

I wonder if the seating has had anything to do with drop in numbers. I know there were thousands of requests for seating change. I have always had a fantastic seat at pirtek and now at spotless I'm in one of the worst seats possible I was fuming and as I said I know lots of other people in the same boat. I have just said to myself it's only for the next 3 seasons then we will be back where we belong at parra in a fantastic stadium.

So on the current run-rate were looking at a R1 membership tally of around 92,000-95,000 similar to 13/14.

Shows you how expansion into the right areas can work. Wanderers model should be used in Canberra, Geelong and the Gong

It can definitely work. A model which works with the fans and community of a regional city could have more members than a capital.

I think WSW have reached their ceiling. Growing at like 50 per week now. But the cap would be closer to 20-21k I would have thought.

I wonder what the sudden halt in memberships is due to?

WSW membership slowing up probably because of demand has halted. Their membership last year included 'waitlisted' members I am assuming so the current membership seems reflective of demand plus location means some people may not want to travel to Spotless.

Wanderers membership at the start of Rnd 1 last season was 16k. We will be on about 19k at the start of this season, 3k ahead of same time last year.

To say that demand has halted when WSW are tracking about 3k members in front of last year is lunacy.

But demand has halted. Why else would they have only sold 50 in the last week. Not saying they haven't increased memberships from last season, nor that their member count overall is bad, far off it. But the DEMAND for more memberships has slowed dramatically and as a result has halted. Wasn't sure if it was because the club was imposing a stop for whatever reason or whether it's business as usual but only a fraction of new members signed up last week.

Considering most of our games are being played at Spotless Stadium with a capacity of 24k would we again have a cap on memberships lime at Parramatta Stadium?
Is this the case with Melbourne Victory, do you guys have a cap considering AAMI Stadium is 31k capacity even though 5 games a year are at Etihad Stadium.

The slow down can be attributed to WSW being at 98% of prior year. That's the best renewal going round.

If we're lucky, we might get 10% growth and be a touch below 20k.

Yeah i'm starting to change my stance on the Nix. I think they will be the next to go. And there won't be a further save the nix campaign this time around. They had their chance and all of their so called "fans" aren't giving a toss either it would seem.

But to be fair let's see how they go attendances wise. Memberships is one thing but what really matters is who shows up on the day.

They desperately need to play at a smaller venue. Westpacs 35k is ridiculous when you think they normally only pull in 6-7k.

That's a nice big jump.

Looks like City are going to break their record this year, as have WSW and I don't know how but Pignata reckons we are on track for reaching 15k so that's a solid effort. And Victory look strong. Shame Essien isn't coming. Who knows could have pushed it to around 28k.

At this stage the only disapointmnt is Adelaide considering they are title holders and so much positive energy was built up post grand final. But playing in a small stadium will mean even if they get 12-13k per game it will look really good.

The less we talk about Wellington the better. They have even recruited well, and no major off field drama to speak of but their numbers look like their fans are protesting. When you consider the shit Brisbane and Newcastle have gone through.

Memberships for Wellington should be all important to their survival according to FFA metrics. So its baffling why management haven't been proactive in offering all sorts of deals to get new members.
How hard would it be to offer discounts off pizzas or lamb?
