PREDICTIONS
Adelaide v WSW - 14,000 If the weather is good they should crack 14k, but really it should be a sell out.
SFC v CCM - 16,500 (Derby win should lift it a bit. However plenty of members would have gone to the derby and may choose other commitments. Plus early start time wont help.)
Victory v City - 46,000 (Just had a look at the stadium map and there are still plenty of seats on the third level. Add to that medallion club and I reckon it will push down a bit. Anything over 48k would be fantastic though!
Jets v Roar - 9,000 (Will be roughly the same as last week due to the back to back schedule. Otherwise may have gone a little higher.
Glory v Welly - 10,000 (fine weather in Perth predicted so that should help, however the back to back fixture wont do them heaps of favours, nor the opposition. I reckon a slight increase from last weekend.)

Total = 95,500

If we crack 95k we should all be solidly very very happy. But anything over 90k is very good imo. Anything above 100k is absolutely fantastic, and on the extremely unlikely chance we hit 105k would seriously be amazing! Anything under 90k but above 85k is okay-good. Less than 85k would be disappointing considering some of the match ups.

Fair point regarding the back to back games. The weather forecast for all games this weekend appears to be perfect, so can be no excuses there.

Here's to hoping with another huge round attendance.

Perfect weather may correct some of the figures a bit, especially for Perth so that's why I gave it a slightly higher figure. But had this game been their first and had won their first away, I reckon I would have said something closer to 13k.

Either way looks like a good round of football. Interested to see what Adelaide and Sydney get for their games as it is slightly unknown. We know Melbourne will be 40k+ but not by how much over.

Saw this on twitter from the CEO of Adelaide United who was answering some fans questions:

So it looks like 14k is a certainty. Would be great if they managed to put up the sold out sign.

So with a bit more intel a cautious approach to this weekend would be:

Adelaide 13k
Sydney 17k
Melbourne 47k
Jets 9k
Glory 11k

Total of 97k which would be excellent :)

With weather & Intel added:

Adelaide v WSW - 24 degrees & sunny - 14.5k (ticket sales good)
Sydney v CCM - 25 degrees & sunny - 18k (ticket sales great)
Victory V City - 24 mostly sunny - 43k (ticket sales not the best)
Jets V Roar - 26 sunny - 9k
Perth V Nix - 20 partly cloudy - 12k

= 96.5k

Obviously the largest variance here is the derby... impressive numbers here could see us enter consecutive 100k attendances.

Hindmarsh always looks sexy when packed out

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Looks like we're heading for a round total of around 95k, which would be fantastic, about the 4th or 5th highest on record.

Already after just three games it's only a few hundred head short of the top 25.

I'd love to see the Glory fans react to their strong squad and get us up to 100k however, but I might be asking too much.

Might be a bit much getting a big crowd from Glory. They just had a packed out League international there and a lot of 'maybe going fans' would skip this weeks game against WP and went to that instead.

Bit disappointed with SFC effort too. Was hoping for a bit more.

I think expansion is the only rhing that will really lift avg crowds in this country. A loopsided 3 round robbin league can be nauseating at the best of times.

Disappointing crowd tonight at Etihad, hopefully Victory will learn from this, as their stupid policy to force every member to reserve a seat for tonight's game probably cost them an extra 5000 in attendance, in what should've been a 50k plus crowd.

They didn't reserve their seats, because they've never had to do that before, and there was a cutoff for it, which I think was 4-5 days ago.
Members had to do it online through the Victory website. But any members that missed that cutoff, would then have to go through Ticketmaster, and were stung a $6-$9 booking fee per ticket. Sure that may not sound like much, but after you've already purchased a $200/$300/$400 membership, you really shouldn't have to do that, or made to pay any extra. You should be able to turn up, and if you have a GA membership at Etihad, you should be able to sit wherever you want, as per normal, like every other game there.

So in this case there were many members that were unaware of this bizarre process, as they couldn't just turn up on the night. Its bureaucracy gone completely mad! The club got ahead of themslsves, and not for the first time. I reckon that cost them 5k extra attendees on the night and god knows how much $$$ in extra food and drink. I don't understand why they'd do that, just keep things simple FFS!

Next week... early call so not taking weather into account.

City v Perth - fri night - aami - 14k

Cahill's first game, big derby win but the 2 weeks in a row factor may hurt? Also I can't see Cahill bringing in an extra 5/6k like we could expect with del piero early days... though I'd be more stoked than anyone here to be proven wrong. Does appeal to the kids so you never know? Memberships are up but not by a ridiculous amount.

Ccm v Brisbane - sat - gosford - 7.5k

First home game is the attraction but coming off a big loss and not overly much hope for their season.

Adelaide v victory - sat night - coopers - 16k

Always sells out?

Nix v Sydney - Sunday - westpac - 9k

10k turned up for the opening game and now they have their players back so should be an attraction, however coming off a loss can't be expecting a lot.

Wsw v jets - Sunday - spotless - 18k

First home game at spotless you'd imagine would be a huge draw, so should sell out or go close (less the member no shows ) . Sunday night game so won't be expecting many traveling supporters for this. Coming off a win, though derby loss hurts.

= 64.5k

Not sure why you think playing at Spotless is a huge draw? It is a horrible stadium to play in - it's an oval ground, you feel further from the ground than at ANZ and there is just a poor a crowd atmosphere. The only thing going for it is direct access via the train.
