Bullets Strikers and Bandits all used blue and yellow one point and there has been a shift toward yellow and maroon.

Once again this shows that there is plenty of interest and plenty of people willing to finance professional football teams.  Closing the league off to that investment is holding the game back.

Put all of these 'bids' into a second division and let them earn their way into the A-League via promotion.  Instead of having one or two lots of owners investing in our game, you get eight or more.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Brisbane City FC and F.C. Brisbane City?
The 2 clubs are separate entities but will be closely tied in an operational sense. The existing club Brisbane City FC will be a shareholder in the new club, FC Brisbane City, and will have a seat on the Board of the A League club.

Why was Brisbane City FC chosen by the bid group and its investors?
The Club, its Board, coaches and players have demonstrated significant growth, stability and improved service delivery over the last 3 years. Further, Brisbane City FC has a compelling history, a close community connection, football and physical infrastructure that leaves it well placed to support an elite set of teams.

How can Brisbane City FC afford this?
The Club is not required to make a financial contribution to the A League club. Its contribution is its facilities, and intellectual property such as licensing, leases and existing football staff and programs.

Why is this good for Brisbane City FC?
There are many reasons this is good for Brisbane City FC such as:
1. Better use of its facilities. With the addition of the professional club, we are able to provide better amenities through investment in our Retail, Restaurant and Bar offerings to provide increased trading hours for members and supporters as well as investment into the quality of our fields.
2. Investment into its facilities by the new A League club in readiness for the club to operate 52 weeks a year delivers better outcomes for all.
3. Lowering of the Brisbane City cost base (facilities, utilities etc) allows us to further invest in grass roots football infrastructure such as more full time coaches, additional grounds and collaboration with other Queensland clubs and schools for junior football development. We want to provide opportunity and growth for football and all clubs.
4. Creation of more elite player pathways for juniors to the A League and W League.
5. A higher profile and the staging of W League and Y League matches at our facility will create further growth in club sponsorships and Corporate Box revenues, all of which can be re-invested back into the club for benefit of players and members. We are not for profit, hence the desire to invest and improve.

Does this mean our badge and name will change?
No, nothing will change. The existing club formed in 1952 will remain and is protected. In fact, this was one of the prime reasons for creating a separate entity. The new club’s logo is actually under the control of the FFA/A League and we did not want to lose control or expose our heritage to these requirements. The club will also remain in control of its leases and stadium assets.

if the FFA approve it, they will own it.

Be lucky if they allow it the francise to be that close to another clubs name

Pretty sure the Reds don't even use the ground that much though, as like most have said it needs an upgrade.

That's right and there's a training pitch right outside.  Plus Union is played in winter.  The cross over would be minimal.

. wants to "take back all the turf north of the Logan river"

I live on the north side and other than their ground being about 15 metres further north than suncorp, what makes them a north side team? The city is the city.

Excited for the derby though. Hopefully if it attracts the kind of attention that Melbourne and Sydney do they won't have them at Ballymore and all 3 can be at Suncorp.

So is this the team/representation you've been waiting for?

I like the blue and white contrast kit Blackburn has...then add maybe some maroon trim. Or maybe the Aston Villa/West Ham kit with the navy blue instead of the sleeves could be nice.

Its not as bad as people make out, Wilston train station is only slightly further than Roma Street is from Suncorp. I've walked it a couple times and there is actually a fair few food places just on Newmarket Road for people to go before game, but almost no pubs. Otherwise it would all be down to buses on the day.

With some clever planning, having minimal food/pub venues near the stadium could work to this mobs advantage if they can get control of the food and beverage takings and really work hard on some quality options and service. Am sure if people knew that the food and beer revenue went mostly to the club they would be happy to do it all in the stadium area.

@soil

I can't commit yet. :)

When I move back to Australia it would most likely be Sunshine Coast so I am willing to wait and see what happens with AAFC, 2nd division etc. As there is an Indian investor and lol George Weah apparently wanting to get involved.

Have to see how this plays out and complain in the meantime.
