+x+xI don't know which way is up. It's the direction Troisi's 30 metre long shots go. That's Baba's shots.

Kind of crazy that up until the last few days we were looking at potential lineups with Rojas and no Troisi, and now it is the opposite. Didn't catch all of the presser, but I thought I half heard a question on potential signings; anyone hear either way if Milligan was mentioned? Add him in and we're really only a couple of lefties from a really good squad imo

No direct mention of Milligan, but Kev did confirm that without doubt they're active in making signings but he couldn't speak to timelines.

We need a right back, a left back, a quality centre half, a top defensive midfielder, a box to box midfielder, a left winger and another striker. That's how far off we are from having a squad anywhere near good enough to compete.

That's how far off we are from having a squad anywhere near good enough to compete. I think your standards are too high. In a salary capped league lile the ALeague you're never going to have world beaters in every position. Geria will do as a right back, hopefully his form picks up though. Centre half is well covered witg Donachie playing very well last season and Rhys and Deng fairly good players also. The positions that are crucial for us to focus on are left back, left wing and a central midfielder. Then we need squadies for the rest.

You talk like we are CCM , It is not good enough, sfc had 2 players for every position, we are miles from that position. Geria is a heart attack defender and has regressed significantly since his involvement in the socceroos. Williams is not a centre half, he is a midfielder, who has been put in defense. Do you think Williams for Baro and Deng for Ansell has seen our defence improve. It has been weakened. Barbarouses for Rojas is another area we have weakened. No striker to challenge Berisha. A midfield with Valeri and Broxham is slow and not going to get better. All the positions mentioned are where we need to bring players in and if we don't, then we won't compete for trophies.

Probs nah. My understanding is that the new dumbarse 4 years permanent residence thing applies for any application received after the announcement in April this year. As he didn't meet the criteria before the announcement it's most likely he'll need to meet the new criteria and won't be technically eligible until October 2020. Say thank you to P Dutty. There's always the possibility of ministerial intervention or the senate blocking the reforms, but I'd suggest the chances of him actually having citizenship by the start of the season, based on the info in that article, are pretty close to zero. It's all a bit daft given it's a bit of dog-whistling that's ostensibly aimed at the Muslim community but the vast majority of them are getting spousal or refugee visas, both of which are permanent visas from the outset meaning it literally changes nothing in the majority of those cases. It's the main problem with tightening visa controls, people that really want to abuse the system are well across it and change their circumstances to fit the new regime whereas ordinary people get caught up in and inconvenienced by the change.

Tbf if it is Millsy our midfield three of Valeri, Mills and Troi$i would be the best in the league by far. Just need to add another couple foreigners and we will be looking solid.

My knowledge of nipples is legendary I thought the blurry shape of his head looked familiar - that, and he's the only player we've been solidly linked with for the past few months lol.

It's like being in 2015 without the most important player in that team Delpierre, we ain't winning nothing without a top class centre half.

Williams, come on mate, a defensive midfielder, playing as a centre half, because he is too injured to play def mid, is not the quality centre half, i want controlling our defence. Baro was a very decent replacement for Delpierre, not in the same class, but was solid to the point, he was the best centre half, we have had bar Delpierre in our.history. Williams, Donachie and Deng is not the central defence to win you a championship.

Exactly this. We are successful because we demand it. The minute we have our expectations slip the minute we end up like Adelaide; content with last.

Cheeky shout for Vidosic - have a look at his right wrist and the bracelet he's wearing.
He's back in Australia too.

Muscat gets his man as marquee Milligan signs for VictoryMark Milligan is expected to be unveiled as Melbourne Victory's marquee capture on Monday as coach Kevin Muscat further bolsters his squad for the new A-League season. By Dave Lewis 30 JUL 2017 - 9:43 PM UPDATED YESTERDAY 9:43 PM Muscat has been working assiduously behind the scenes for several months to convince the Socceroos utility to return for a second spell at the club he left in 2015 to join UAE side Baniyas. But his chase for Milligan, who turns 32 on Friday, was complicated by the player's desire to test himself in England, where Championship club Bolton Wanderers made a firm offer before work permit issues shut the door on him earlier this month. While Milligan has always been a vocal advocate of the A-League, he was bitterly disappointed to be denied the chance to play in England, especially after failing to convince Victory to release him to join Crystal Palace back in 2013. But a salary of around $800,000 for the looming A-League season will make it a soft landing for Milligan, as he heads back to the club he made 74 appearances for across three seasons whilst scoring 11 goals. A Joe Marston medalist for Victory in 2015, Milligan showed he had lost none of his potency at last month's FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, where he skippered Australia twice. His arrival, just days after fellow Socceroo James Troisi returned to the club in a major transfer twist, shows how serious Muscat is in wresting the A-League crown from Sydney FC's grasp this season.
