Interesting as to why he left the MLS after 14 games. Here's the goal he scored there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nL0ZBV7J2MALiterally the only highlight I could find, apart from some crap quality 30 minute video that I'll watch later, but I guess he is a defensive mid.

some of the posts today after the Sanchez signing announcement have been a way off. Its not a strange signing. we will not change our formation. and I am tipping Sanchez will start ahead of Valeri in most games (unless he turns into a massive failure).

+x+x+x+xLads I got a theory.. Now this isn't a sourced rumour or anything, just a thought I feel could come to fruition. We all know we need a left back, time is running out. There's a certain Jason Davidson at the Terriers who will need 20 players to break their legs if he's to break into the first team. Currently playing in their U23s, World Cup year, we know he's not up to standard of the national team, but I think in the HAL he might go alright. Loan deal? He's from Melbourne, family in Melbourne.. I reckon it might be a good fit. Thoughts? Would be a good fit - how likely it is to happen though, not sure. Actually a pretty strong rumour here in Holland is that Hercules Almelo are looking at him. (His old club) he was pretty good last year. He left there on pretty bad terms when he moved to West Brom from what I recall Fans don't like him anywhere he goes, but I expect him to play in Holland, he was lobbying to stay at Groningen from memory.

Great to see Valeri getting started for the season. There can be no question that Kev will stick with his 4231 going forward.

Not too worried about central defence tbh, I dont think people give Deng enough credit. From memory he was man of the match in a derby for us then went to PSV (which is not done by luck). Donachie was superb at times last season also.

To me, in completely untechnical terms, he's an ok ish player who sometimes does good things, where if we are looking to compete for trophies (at home and abroad) we need a good player who occasionally does great things.

That's fantastic. It'll help me practice my Spanish. I'd love to see the club promote itself in Argentina and maybe even form some sort of partnership with Velez Sarsfield.

Don't get me wrong, I think Kev will look to sign a LW player. But if he doesn't, I am more than happy to back in Mitch Austin. And to be frank, its something A-League teams need to do a lot more of.

Logic is that Deng has played well for us and is a good young developing player. My point is that people are quick to overlook him even though he could be a potential star. Should he start for us? Probably not but it's good to have him at the club and developing. Austin is a 26 year old run of the mill ALeague player. You know exactly what you're getting with him. He will be an ok back up but should be nowhere near our starting XI. We won't win an ALeague trophy with Austin starting at LW you can bet your house on it.

Austin is a good back up, depth player and will be handy in the ACL. As a starter week in week out, don't rate him.

got a membership...have left the NT for this season as CBF'd with the circus. I see the club have been heavily promoting targeted ads on social media to NT members so maybe a few haven't recommitted. Over the politics of it on all sides and looking forward to just going and enjoying the games (hopefully :) ).

Haven't recommitted yet, got a baby coming in feb and its a squeeze for cash til that point but mostly cause the club stuffed us when they moved our seats un cat b with our friends to a dry area then when they tried to rectify they had sold our regular seats so put us in another shitty area, we took them with the knowledge they would move us back this year... they also charged us $25 more so we could go to the game between Christmas and NYE that we are always away for, the wouldnt rectify that... Then they never moved us back to our regular seats, a whole heap of people sat in our normal area had the same treatment, and we were in auto12 so its not like we made a mistake. They club never tried to fix anything and tried to say that we were asked if we wanted to relocate, so it sounds like that move us to accommodate someone more important. Really bummed out about the whole thing, the clubs membership division had always been so helpful until this past year

Good luck with the bub - maybe a dry area not so bad - no time for pre or post game drinking!

Membership department fucked us around last year too - the seat next to us at AAMI Park has been empty for donkey years, so my mate rung up to see if he could snag it. Not only would they not tell him if the seat was sold or not, but they weren't able to guarantee he would get it if he applied for it and, worst of all, they could potentially move our existing seats (which are great) to try and get the 3 together. They had the potential for another Cat A membership but because of that nonsense we gave up - seat was still empty next to us on matchday...

Yeah I understand that - hence why the first question my mate asked was whether it was sold or not, to see whether it was worthwhile pursuing it. I've got no qualms about people buying a seat and not using it (although it would be nice if they sold it back each game they couldn't attend), I just think it's a bit shitty to not pass that information on to people who may wish to purchase it. I'm not talking about passing personal details, just a simple yes or no as to whether it is available is all we wanted to know.

I heard the main reason for the change is that there is a higher demand for the western stand because those seats don't have sun in your eyes. Both sides used to be the same, however now the west side has a lot more Cat A. Unfortunately my seat has changed from Cat B to Cat A and obviously a price increase. Cat A is out of my budget so won't be keeping that seat.

We had 6 friends in the row behind us originally and the row we were in only had 3 other people most matchdays so i don't understand the move. It was originally a great spot. Really tossing up a country membership as we are just over 100km from Melbourne. Membership department used to be excellent, would always get the same one or two people and they were always on top of things. Since last year's its been a disgrace. They even asked if nephews wanted to play at half time and kept bumping back what game it would until they said they'd do it next season. Pathetic

Been trying to upgrade from B to A at AAMI for about 4 years now .. no luck at all .. There is 6 of us though, so probably part of the problem.
Called the club every preseason and been told theres a waiting list.

Someone mentioned babies earlier...we've just had our first actually only 6 weeks ago. Anyone got experience with bringing babies to the game? I'm wondering whether it's worth trying or not to bother
