I thought 9,000 or so for Melb City against the Nix isn't too bad. It seems they have a base of supporters they can build from. Hopefully some success may see them increase that.

+x+xWhat's City's break even point? Is it 15k like most of the league? +xHopefully FFA is getting the message I don't know why we have this obsession that anything less than 100% capacity is a failure. Our average crowds are better minus like 5 top leagues in Europe League attendance is tracking for 10% decline this season. It's a problem. We are 9k cumulative ahead of two years ago and it turned out OK because of a strong finish. Whats to say the same won't happen this season?

We are 9k cumulative ahead of two years ago and it turned out OK because of a strong finish. Whats to say the same won't happen this season? 1) the large capacity venues were booked for the period of this so called "soft launch". We won't have the sugar hit of large derbies after round 10 to arrest the decline. The first 2 derbies are down 10%. This will impact the average. 2) The more concerning decline we have seen over recent seasons is in the medians. We need more data this season to assess. 3) part of the reason for the flatter decline of the season you mention is that we had 2 clubs in Adelaide and Perth significantly renew their fortunes after slow starts. To repeat that we would likely need a club like Brisbane to utterly stink it up for half a season then repeat the same run of Adelaide. This sort of thing injects/renews interest in the later season fixtures.

If city are gonna fudge crowds why not just list something just over 10k so it looks better? Because absolutely no way yesterdays crowd was only a few hundred less then the 1st home game.

Perfect example of a "boutique" stadium with the appropriate capacity making good viewing at both the venue and on tv. The Roar and even Sydney would kill for a venue like NIB that generates a buzz with a 12k crowd. Behind the scenes Perth have done well to slowly build its support in the stands with good success.

2016 - 105,574 average 3,406 2015 - 113,893 average 3,671 2014 - 93,820 average 3,026
No wonder they wanted a Sydney Derby - needs a record crowd to match the lowest season yet. Not disasterous this season but again, not good.

Snap look at cumulative figures after 3 rounds
Year===== Crowds ==== Fox ======== FTA
Hal 13=== 233, 386 === 1, 182, 000 == 333, 000
Hal 12=== 249, 637 === 1, 397, 000 == 280, 000
Hal 11=== 221, 893 === 933, 000 ==== 204, 000

Not disasterous this season but again, not good. This will be the lowest attended FFA Cup no doubt. If it's true the FFA is looking at Leichardt then the "bigger market" argument is a non starter. Leichardt (despite its larger nameplate capacity) will not draw a bigger crowd than Hindmarsh which has proven form filling every seat for a final.

I look forward too your chart with all figures... You the accuse of selective posting while only using one of the three areas posted.... I am sure you can look up the figures and post easily post them.... no one is suggesting greatness nor massive support for FFA or working for FFA.... You post better when don't attack people who simply post available data with no comment and assume their motives...

You post better when don't attack people who simply post available data with no comment and assume their motives... Metro ratings are done using an estimate of 15 million people. Regional ratings are presumably the other 8 million people When you combine metro and regional its an estimate of the viewing habits of 23 million people which is 150% bigger than a just metro audience. As somebody who understands statistics you should know this One metro ratings for the first 3 rounds are 245k. A 13% drop from last year Fox figures are down 16% Crowds are down 7% That's the reality of it If you want to compare the fourth category of regional ratings then you have 88k vs unknown. A divided by 0 error increase

Only 22,763 turned up at the RL World Cup opener at AAMI last night which featured 2 out of the top 3 teams in the world. It seems all codes have to work harder to get bums on seats
