+x+xPaine very good behind stumps. Where has he been for last few years? Playing all formats for Tassie mostly. Before that he was in the cricketing wilderness. You recall he had that terrible finger injury that curtailed his brief Test career. Timmy has always been a classy and classic keeper. I'm a TCA member at Bellerive. The previous state selectors thought they'd get more runs from McDermott or Doran as a batter/keeper. What they forgot to recognise is Paine is the best keeper in the country though - and- an excellent captain when Bailey was unavailable. They felt pressured, because the Tassie top order was failing. The worst selection decision in Tassie history was dropping Paine.

+x+x+x+x+xStarc starting to beat bat regularly with reverse swing at pace. I can see Labuchange doing some damage on a crumbling deck. I expect he bowls the wrong'n.. any other variations? He bowls a top spinner too, which is an easy ball to bowl. Hopefully, we are still in the game given they are currently 8 - 470. DC we are going to need some serious application to get close to this score.. whatever it may be. Spin has been our achilles heel in the past.. is it still.. Siddle and Lyon appear to have cemented their spots for next Test. Aussies in a dilemma here. They will not want to take this last wicket. Last thing the openers want is to face 15 or so overs after a sweltering day in the field.

What a turn around!
The pitch is very flat at times. The big problem is our inexperienced, suspect quality batting line up. Few of them even average 40 in Shield cricket.
I watched Head compile a superb, chanceless 100 at Bellerive last year in the Shield. However, I'm not sure he scored any more in the rest of the season?

After seeing three overs of Shah, he looks like one of the best leg spinners I've ever seen.
If he remains uninjured, he could threaten Murali's and Warne's records.
He has prodigious spin, great loop and wonderful control.

watched half an hour last night and it looked impossible for the bowlers!
