Ashwin throws away his wicket now.

Who thinks we can chase 350?  I am not all that confident.

They'll probably give Moises another go, knowing selectors.

The great all rounder, he is not a first class bowler, he is not a first class batsman, he is the great all round failure.

Still a good bowler. We had such hi hopes for this kid at 18/19 before his body began telling him he was given it too hard a time... He was going to ruffle the feathers of the best of the best batsmen.. Will Australian cricket ever see another tearaway in the Thommo, Lee, Cummins mould?

This is the frustrating thing about Starc... He physically has the strength and pain threshold, just no stock ball... Cummins has a stock ball...

No way, it is working perfectly for India. They are going to get bowled out at about the perfect score but if they had to declare they would have batted on. There is only one result going to happen, an India win.

Ashwin throws away his wicket now.

India know they probably have enough runs, just throwing the bat now, try to get to 350 ASAP.

I think it is probably 50 runs too far with our quality of batting. Ashwin is going to run through us on this pitch day 4-5

a little bit of sloppiness in this game from starc, finch and marsh. Also the use of the DRS
small differences but not out of it

Bevan played as a top 4 bowler for Australia in tests when Tubby was not scoring runs. I can give you a link to several tests of this. There's quite a few...

Steve Waugh started as an allrounder very much so. He was competing with Greg Mathews for the spot.

Mark Waugh was very much an ODI allrounder at the start - seam up fast medium # 3 bowler...

Blewett I think may have been tried as an allrounder, just not a good one...

But Patto wants the #7 spot as a bowling allrounder, but he could do the same role at 8 (if he's good enough)...

I know Bevan played as a spinner.

Steve Waugh started out as an attempted all rounder, he never really succeeded, he became a batsman who bowled a little, largely because he quite often got injured bowling.
Greg Matthews actually averaged over 40 as a test match batsman, but was not considered a good enough batsman, he also was not good enough as a bowler. He would be the second best batsman in the current team.
Mark Waugh was quite sharp as a bowler, much quicker than his brother, early in his career but he gave it up to save his back. I was more referring to the majority of his career when he bowled his off spin.
Blewett was a handy part timer who could take a few wickets. I think he took some wickets in a test match in Hobart off the top of my head but definitely not an all rounder.

Pattinson needs to bowl well first and foremost, he has been bad in the current shield match. The batting is just an added bonus.

wow what a finish from australia

If Shami is 100% probably 15% chance
if he's out of the bowling probably 30% since we can tire them out

main factor could be ashwin though

Lyon bowled well through out i felt, was very unlucky early and some poor field placements. Our pace bowlers were rubbish the 2nd innings though, they did nothing.

Pretty sure when Mark started with the offies, he bowled his first spell seam up, then came back on with the offies... He may have had back problems... but I am sure he did the both in the early 90's...

Ditto. He and Watson are two peas in the same all rounder pod. Both promised so much too as youngsters.

The funny thing is if Henriques gets another 16 runs on this SCG road he has two tons for the year. Joining only, Hughes,  Larkin and Cooper to have done that. Funny game cricket...and no mistake. Hughes has now put up his name after a slow start to the season. Unlike Moie he has put in several solid shield seasons on the trot. So add Cooper and Hughes to the possibles for Third Test.

Finch should have been walking back to the sheds.. and probably out of the side but the giant man overstepped. A cardinal sin at this level.

I do rate Finch but he should bat lower down the order, the new ball gives him a few too many problems.

Because hes mad a bag of runs the last few seasons batting 4/5 (I think its either high 40s but may be ticking 50). Hes also an experienced player and a leader which we sorely lack.

If we lose the first two tests heads should roll. You would think Finch needs at least a solid 70 or 80 from here to hold his place. That pretty much applies to all out batsmen.
