Nobody can argue they haven’t been consistently underwhelming in everything they’ve touched so far. ANNOUNCE MITCH NICHOLS.

Looks like something made on Fiverr. I was hoping that new teams would have better logos than some of the shite we have in the league currently (including ours)

If they are going to make something generic, then at least have a look at some other generic football badges that look half decent. I knocked this together in 5 mins with a sandwich in one hand. Based heavily on the Club Brugge logo with the crown replaced with an old school Barca-esque ball. Not saying this is any good, just saying that they could go down a generic path yet still at least look like a football club.

Wha'??? But we have like stars and swooshy ribbons! Personally I would like to redesign ours but I'm happy with the general theme. I'd like the club to do an alternate very formal, ornate, heraldic version though with lots of iconography, that'd be cool.

I would love to see something like the Sturt Desert Pea or the Piping Shrike incorporated in the logo. Someone on WATR made a really good logo as well which I liked. I'll try and find it.

+xYou cannot possibly think that Tarneit is a better option than somewhere close to an M1 off ramp between Melbourne and Geelong (free land and property developments aside). do you drive or catch a train? if you drive i concede the road infrastructure is not anywhere near up to scratch. but if you caught the train... you could not have placed the stadium in a better spot, being on the main line exactly half way between Melbourne and Geelong and 13 minutes to sunshine station which is to be turned into the western suburbs superhub.

As long as the train station is built before stadium completion the location should be fine. Add two or three more years of local housing development and the area will have a better vibe.
The generic name however, remains a problem and I think will continue to do so as it resonates with no one. I can see them needing to reinvent themselves once the move to tarneit is complete.
Wyndham City, Wyndham Athletic, Yangs Park United, Garden State Rovers are all infinitely better than WU. I live inner west suburbs and if the name was Wyndham...something....I would not care, IF they are a well run club who engage their fans. We shall see in time.
@someguyjc.....good logo btw, heaps better than the leaked one

Woman and knocked up isn’t really something you want to read in a sentence.

Add two or three more years of local housing development and the area will have a better vibe. it's been earmarked for "2022-2027," but due to the stadium construction and the data suggests that the 2 nearby stations (Tarneit and Wyndhamvale) are running at 100% capacity, I think the government's hands are tied and it will have to be fast tracked.

+x+xI think that is exactly why they aren't running any forums. They have a lot of work to do to make this a success. I have no doubt they will assemble a decent team, but will anyone turn up to watch? Sure, they will have their own stadium, but the site is in shit creek which os not going to be convenient for many people to get to. Not from Melbourne suburbs and not from Geelong. OK, the council is giving them some land. I'm sorry, but the location is just wrong. It needed to be somewhere near the Princes Freeway, like Williams Landing or something , but then they wouldn't get free land would they? And then there's the shitty name. If they had said beforehand that they may not have 'Melbourne' in the name, it would have opened people's minds to suggest better names. Having Western without Melbourne is just dumb. Where the f### is Western?? wrong. they are running 3 fan forums. Yes its strange that they are running them after already deciding name and colours, but they are conducting them. and the stadium isn't in shit creek if you know your geography. When? I've heard nothing from anyone.

Joyce has had his time. He has managed to chase out numerous quality players without achieveing any of this purported cultural change that was meant to come as a result. Hopefully WUFC can sign Fornaroli as our second marquee. That way he doesn’t have to move and can get the citizenship he so obviously wants. A quality player and a quality guy.

+x+xI am a West United supporter. I think I may be the only one to post in this whole thread. AMA. You are? So for those years you were pretending to be a heart and city supporter? Nope. Passionately supported Heart. I still feel a whirlwind of emotion when I take out my old heart gear and look at it. I’d give a kidney if it meant I could have that club back. That said, I have come to terms with the fact that the club is dead and it’s never coming and I have to move on accordingly. I tried to roll my support over to City in the early years but it didn’t feel remotely similar. I would actually have to pretend to be happy when a goal was scored. I lost interest about half way through that first season and haven’t been to game in at least two years. I have grown to resent City for being the thing that killed my club. I was born and raised in WUFC’s catchment and I am very excited about the propspect of the club owning it’s own stadium. It’s a perfect avenue back into following the A-League and supporting Australian Football.
