If only we had something to celebrate 😅

P.s. I miss Fabio Ferreira. Saw a video on the Red Army Facebook page the other day of a 3-1 win at home a few years back, Brucey also scored a screamer. Those two could honestly still do a job in today's team.

Stopped my rental car at Coopers Stadium today and had a look around. What a fantastic ground! It seems so close to the action and the stands appear steep and high.

What, if any, issues do you have to the ground on matchday? Perhaps the lack of a roof on wet days would be an issue?

Yeah it’s a great ground and there isn’t a bad seat. The seats are so close to the pitch, even when there’s a good atmosphere, you can still hear the players talking on the pitch.

There are a few issues though and the lack of roofing is one of them. There is a lack of toilets and the ground could do with more food and drink vendors as well. There is also a lack of change rooms which makes scheduling double headers difficult.

I honestly don't know why anyone would want to move from Hindmarsh. It can still be improved upon and I think ownership of it needs to be the focus and priority.
Keeping up with the Jones's is one reason some likely want a move and unfortunately, Adelaide's inferiority complex to Melbourne is the other - Nfi idea why but it still exists sadly.
Barely rains in Adelaide either.
Hindmarsh is perfect.

Went to a game a decade ago and can barely remember the facilities,  though i think billy celeski got the winner... maybe? Toilets are a pain but as for food would food trucks  do? I notice st Geelong AFL games they always have good trucks,  considering they have a 75% upgraded stadium,  food/drink vendors are still an issue.

What's the inside of the main stand like? Is there scope to upgrade (change rooms) without expanding? (Vaguely remember they have constraints on expanding)

Roofing wouldn't really be that big of an issue, would like to see the corners filled though. It really feels like a proper football ground,  can't really say that about the others,  even aami, though its good,  there's no personality,  it's like it got a boob job but they forgot to put a brain in.

Hindmarsh is a great ground - really intimate and a great size for AU. The lack of roofing on 3/4 stands is an issue though - don't forget it's not just about the rain, we play in summer and Adelaide can get bloody hot so there's no shade as well. But I still love it.

The only way to shade the Eastern stand which is the main issue at the time matches are played would be to build a wall in front in between the stand and the pitch but then no bugger in the East will see anything. I guess increased structure on the West side and Southwest corner is going to have an impact on the amount of sun hitting the East Stand too.

Would it be architecturally possible to build quadrants and some kind of curved roof around the entire ground? No one likes rain and I can imagine the summer heat is pretty tough too. It has the ability to get a modern development and make it one of the best in the league.

Impressive. Too often A League clubs think they can get them fit with such a long off season, but then can’t or don’t.

Yeah Verbeek wasn't pleased with Alberg at all. These quotes are just brutal.

"“Being a foreign player, there has to be no doubts about him being a starter and that’s not what we saw,” Verbeek said on Friday.

“He hadn’t played for half-a-year and he trained by himself, but he did too little and he was not fit.

“When you come here, you have to show what you can do.

“But he missed some trainings because it was too heavy for him.

“It was not smart of him to come here and not be fit enough to show what his possibilities are.”

So he could have been rollin' along, instead it's Roland, move along.
Explains the trial.
More good noises from the club if true and if he works out later on, then great.

Adelaide United is delighted to announce forward, Al Hassan Toure, has officially joined the first team squad following a string of quality performances, signing a scholarship contract.

Toure found the net in four straight matches with the Club’s Youth Team in the local National Premier League (NPL) and soon caught the attention of Head Coach, Gertjan Verbeek.

The 19-year-old continued to show his potential during training and in pre-season friendlies before scoring on his senior debut in the FFA Cup 2019 Round of 32 against Melbourne Knights.

Capable of playing as a striker or on the wing, Toure combines pace with his excellent dribbling ability and will be a valuable option in attack for Verbeek.

Speaking on his promotion to the first team on a permanent basis, Toure said: “I’m very excited to have officially signed with Adelaide United.

“It’s been a great NPL season so far and to continue that into the pre-season with the first team and to have scored on my debut in the FFA Cup was very special.

“I’ve been working hard throughout the years to get this kind of opportunity and to have signed with my hometown club and be close to my family and friends is very important.

“Hopefully I can get as many minutes in the senior team as possible and also get my name on the scoresheet more and more.”

Adelaide United Director of Football, Bruce Djite, claimed Toure’s immense potential and string of consistent performances were key to the deal.

“Al Hassan is a very talented young footballer and he’s impressed Gertjan, all our other senior coaches, and I throughout this pre-season,” Djite explained.

“Al Hassan is yet another example of the talent we have coming through our Youth Team, and his strong form in the NPL ultimately enabled him the opportunity to train with the first team, which he has taken with both hands.

“Not only does Al Hassan possess a raw natural ability, but he is an exciting and explosive footballer with a strong desire to improve.

“Adelaide United is the perfect environment for Al Hassan to continue his evolution as a player and we’re very confident that he will continue to improve and develop under the guidance of Gertjan and his coaching staff."
