It will depend on what’s in the contract. If there is a provision for the contract to be assigned to another party then there will be not problem. If there isn’t a provision then the Fox contract is with FFA only and cant be assigned to another party, particularly if new HAL company is a completely seperate entity. In all likely hood FFA didn’t envisage a split so there may not have been the allowance so Fox could by rights renegotiate with new owner of HAL.

I can follow that, but the simple solution is to just keep the contract as is, and for the revenue sharing to be part of the new agreement.

Can't see why the state federations get a share of transfer fees.  Especially the stumbling blocks like Northern NSW and NT ACT.
The CEO should not be paid $1.2m per year.
The Socceroos shpuld also have their salaries slashed because that money can be used for junior men's NT games in terms of air fares and camps.

Did I misread it or did it say that the state federations will get money to pay for national youth teams? Isn’t that that the job of the FFA, not diverting funds to the state federations to then somehow channel that money to fund those teams.

As always, the devil will be in the detail. The transition phase will be interesting though, as clubs will still need to wait a few years to take full control. Will anything of value be left by then anyway?

I didn't understand that bit as well.  Might be poorly expressed, maybe meant to say money for state feds AND national youth teams.

So the state feds want 10% of every transfer that an aleague club makes with an overseas one? What about the clubs that helped developed that player how much of a percent they will get in return? Needs more clarity on that.

Also the state feds to fund the national youth teams spells of a dangerous precedent if conflict of interest with player selection might make this decision backfire in the future, surely it’s the job for the FFA?

Will they have to wait for full control till 2023? Or it just for the TV deal?

I guess the devil is in the detail, but it’s a good sign we are getting close to ending this empass.

I agree that the clubs that develop players deserve more money for their work.

That would need a qualifier though to ensure that there are clear definitions on which party would get the money if the player had been at multiple clubs.

The state federation getting the money if they haven’t had much direct responsibility for developing the player seems very far fetched.

It's ridiculously quiet on this front. Considering this is one of the biggest changes to happen to the league since its inception, there's been zero noise. No rumours, no comments from anonymous sources. Pretty much just an article from Vince R 6 days ago saying that things were kind of on track.

Vince Rugari : Expect official news to drop in the next 30 mins to an hour but agreement has been reached on the independence of the #ALeague at last. The new deadline is August 1 to finalise the very last details but it’s viewed as a fait accompli. A brave new world beckons.
