Fabs has been advertising a World Cup viewing venue on FreshFM, good to hear AUFC in at least some of the media in Adelaide at the moment.

I haven't heard anything about these 2, ( means nothing as something may have happened that I know fuck all about - not too difficult! ) Alamao is married to a local so that may decide his future. Last I heard Cristiano failed to be picked up by " Real " Salt Lake ( must be a lot of Spanish Mormons! )

Also, Andrew Montessi will be interviewing Phil Stubbins on Channel 9 news tonight as well. According to his Twitter, it will "interesting".
EDIT: Okay, so basically it was just a short segment about how Phil Stubbins is still wondering if he's going to be the head coach or not. They also mentioned that he may or may not quit if he's not appointed the head coach.

Old news now but in case you didn't get the e-mail from the club, season tickets and memberships have been delayed.
Five weeks out from the start of the season, and we still haven't heard any news of our new coach or any new signings or contract extensions to plug our holes caused by the losses in our off-season. Am I being paranoid, or is it just a little worrying?
I just hope we have a better season than last, and hopefully qualify for the ACL again. That should be the determination that drives all our players.

From the website: Quote:Season Ticket & Membership Go on Sale Friday 2 July!
Adelaide United FC Season Tickets and Memberships for the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 Season will go on sale from Friday, July 2.
All 2009/10 Season Tickets holders will receive renewal information in the post from Wednesday, June 30, which will include the following: member card, lanyard, pin (adult & concession only), and sticker.
Gold members will have their seats from last season reserved until the club's first Hyundai A-League match on Friday 6 August.
For renewing members, they just simply need to pay for the season ticket (via online, phone, post, or outlet) for it to become active. A letter will accompany each member's season ticket providing details on how to make payment.
Upgrades or the re-location of seats is permitted depending on availability. A new card needs to be issued upon the forfeit of the card which was posted. Please contact Ticketek on 1300 100 326 in order to do this.
A ‘part-payment’ option is available with credit card purchases, whereby six equal instalments will be automatically deducted on the 15th of each month (with the first instalment required to be paid up front). Alternatively, the full amount can be paid up-front.
Season tickets that are not paid for prior to the first match on Friday 6 August 2010 will not be activated and will become invalid.
So get in quick and secure your Adelaide United season ticket for the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 Season! Bugger Ticketek! But at least we'll be getting our members packs tomorrow. Yay!

Apparently Stubbins is the favourite to take over as coach for next season. I'd be pretty dissappointed if that happened, surely the club can do better. Anyway some info about upcoming friendlies. Quote:FRIENDLIES

The entire idea that Stubbins is who should be accepted when we have (from rumor) better options from overseas is pure insanity. I would think that bringing in a well credentialled coach with a proven high level track record would be far more atractive than ponying up the 2IC. Letting Griffiths go was also bloody stupid, if the FFA's idea of managing the club is to not replace players as they leave then we are going to be in for a torrid season.

Jamo I can live without, as long as Cassio is staying around. The issue is trying to get Pantelis playing at a decent level for us regularly down that left hand side.
Marrone is going to be missed, but hey, we've still got Reid in our squad (as far as I know), and we know he's always good for us when he's fit.
Alemao and Cristiano will be missed by me personally, but oh well.

I've heard Stubbins will get the gig for the 2010/2011 season, and the club are hoping in this time to finalise new owners, then we will look overseas the following season.

Forgot about the Griffiths crap. Was very impressed with van Schipp when he appeared on Santo's cup show. A new franchise is more together than one that's been around since inception I agree looks like another lloooonnggg season!( hope I have to eat my words )

I still think we would be more likely to secure owners with a good coach and decent results on the park. I understand where they are coming from, I just think they are wrong.

I guess a potential problem with the Super League is that it's nearing the business end of the season so it would be difficult to schedule some time... BUT still, they've managed 1 game with Galaxy. That's the best they can do? Give incentive to a Super League side by letting them host a game. Crowd numbers will most likely be up given AU supporters will turn up too. Let the home side take some boosted gate and food revenue and let them play against the states best. Or is AU worried about being showed up?

Bring on the season, I say. Am I the only optimist here? :D
I hope we get to see more of Shin, Monterosso and Costa this year. Hopefully they've worked hard in the off-season, and are fighting fit to feature in the games this year.
I hope Owusu comes out firing with van Dijk in a 4-4-2, even a 3-5-2 if we're game.
I hope we use our pace on the wings with Dodd and Leckie, and with Flores and Barbiero advancing higher up the pitch.
I hope that Hughes shows us that his recent ACL form was not a fluke and that he really can play for the shirt.
And most of all, I just hope we've gotten over the curse of the calf injuries... :p
