so pumped for this season!!
as always its damn hard to pick who will come close to the premiership but DAMN! win or lose this season i think we are going to be well entertained!!!!!
I have to admit i was not happy about kosmina being given his job back but i will admit he has proved me wrong. In turn he has given us a team that will go out there for a win and entertain the fans. Id expect the fans will come back this year so i look forward to many 12k plus crowds like the early coolen/flores days.
In terms of the whole league, when people talk about the MLS they talk about all the issues and failed franchises up to season 7, then things fell into place and the foundation had been set to build a strong league. Right on cue i think this year will be identical for the Aleague, with the TV deal big marquee signings, promising youth, clubs looking to play and not hoof the ball forward. I really cannot wait!!
I think our rivalry with MV will now and forever be set in stone to, SO MUCH TO LOOK FORWARD TO

So Flores apparently has been played up forward as a long striker for victory in pre season games.
Bad choice ? i think he would be wasted there, in games i think he would set more goals up then score. I would rather him in an AM place.

I think our rivalry with MV will now and forever be set in stone to, SO MUCH TO LOOK FORWARD TO I'm with you. I really feel that this is the year the HAL will reach a certain tipping point Last year had increased attendances, memberships and ratings. with ADP I cansee those numbers increasing yet again and with the new media deal imminent(which by all accounts will cover the salary cap) , our medium term survival should be guarateed, giving a solid base with which to build. Lets not forget. 10 years ago, our 'sister' league MLS had only just culled 2 franchises and was shipping money. Now it has 19 strong teams, a new TV deal with NBC and appears to be ready to move up to the other big sports in that country. Edited by vanbasten88: 23/9/2012 04:25:04 PM

Actually I think he'll combine well with Finkler to put through balls for Archie & Danny Allsop to run onto. I'm thinking United & Victory will tussle for top spot. If WSW & Ballack agree terms I'm thinking he'll be top of the pile of " names " signed vs performance this year. Just want a win in Tashkent is all at this stage. nice pic btw RU ( would've loved to see Carrusca play pre-season ) Edited by redcup: 23/9/2012 05:18:35 PM

Hi. Is anyone heading over to Sydney for the Sydney FC vs Reds match on the 23rd of November? I have never been to a sydney game before and was looking at the ticketing and noticed that there is a bronze (behind the goals) and silver section (a bay along the wing) for away supporters. Where does the reds contingent generally sit?

ok purchased my away game tickets just to give you an indicator of the various ticketing price discrepancies.
Melbourne Victory away 19th October 2012 Away adult ticket $28.90 plus ticketmaster booking fee $8.65
Western Sydney away 21st December 2012 Away adult ticket $20.00 plus ticketek booking fee $4.95 credit card processing fee $0.30
Perth Glory away 30th March 2013 Away adult ticket $25.00 plus ticketmaster booking fee $5.80 credit card processing fee $0.48
For information roughly 65 tickets have already been sold in the away section for Adelaide when we play Melbourne victory. hoping for a big away contigent for our only victory away trip this season in 24 days time.

Every year I try to be the patient one saying, give it time lads as long as its here before game1 it'll be okay...but this year has really got my goat. Reading the WSW thread, they've got theirs[memberships] and they didn't even exist 7 weeks ago...what have our lot been doing? Edited by vanbasten88: 25/9/2012 04:52:53 PM

Glenn wrote:From the CEO The Season Ahead Sporting Clubs live on hope when it comes to team success. Ours is no different as we approach the 2012/13 A-League Season. Every new season brings fresh optimism that ‘this will be the year’ with all clubs sharing a common goal – to play finals and win a championship. So what can the fans expect? There is no doubt that the ACL campaign injected a new sense of purpose and achievement for the playing group. Pre season training took on a new meaning with ACL and A-League opportunities before them. Under our High Performance Manager Sean Tagg, the players have undergone a thorough and mixed training schedule since July 9. Importantly the vast majority of players have completed the entire program with obvious benefits. The core player list is settled, but as is the case in football, there will always be some new faces. Late last season we secured two former Gold Coast youngsters in Daniel Bowles and Jake Barker-Daish who both settled in before pre season began. Since then two Argentineans, Marcello Carrusca and Jeronimo Neumann, chose to join the club. Once settled, we are confident in their ability to be quality players. The last player to join was Fabio Ferreira, a player seeking to re-establish himself after a stint at Chelsea as a youngster. We're sure our fans want 100% commitment and I am certain results can and will flow from that. Off field we have progressed on several fronts: • Developed a partnership with the FFSA Community Program. • Continued promotion of Adelaide United Members Club Inc. This is critical for partnerships with local and State Government. • Launch of Adelaide United Members Club Inc web site www.adelaidereds.com.au. • Been part of the Government Stadia Review, which established Hindmarsh as the home of football in South Australia. • Established a History Committee as we acknowledge the need preserve the wonderful achievements in the club's history. • Begun planning for the ten year anniversary of our first game, which will take place on October 17, 2013. The financial sustainability of the ten Hyundai A-League clubs is all consuming and the number one focus for Adelaide United FC. These are challenging economic times with sourcing sponsorship a difficult challenge, particularly in Adelaide. We welcome our new ‘front of shirt’ sponsor Unleash Solar and thank Spiro and his team for their involvement. Our challenge is to work with all of our sponsors to ensure mutually agreed outcomes are reached. And finally our valued fans. Hindmarsh is a special stadium on match days with a sea of red cheering the team. There is no doubt that crowd support at Hindmarsh is a motivating factor for our players. We look forward to your ongoing support and thank you for the integral contribution you make to the club and the team.

Anyone got any intel re our merchandise this year? Looking at other clubs they've got a shit load of mercy but you can't even by a scarf on our website. Wtf is going on? Many teams actually hand out scarves with season tickets/memberships. All teams should do this, even just cheap silk ones or something....

Lady Reds unveil international signingsQuote:Adelaide United captain Abby Erceg has returned to the Westfield W-League for the 2012/13 season and headlines the trio of New Zealand internationals who have signed on for the Lady Reds’ upcoming campaign.
Erceg, who will skipper the side again, is joined by Holly Patterson and Sarah McLaughlin as the Lady Reds foreign contingent, with all three members of New Zealand’s 2012 London Olympic Squad.
Erceg has made 79 appearances for her country and is already a seasoned international at just 22 years of age, while 20-year-old creative forward McLaughlin has represented New Zealand 38 times.
Patterson, a lively winger, is the youngest of the trio at 18 years of age, but has already clocked up 18 caps for her country.
Lady Reds Head Coach Dave Edmondson welcomed back Erceg, as well as Adelaide United’s new international signings.
“Abby’s return was a critical signing after her performances last year and her influence as a leader,” he said.
“Whilst Abby will again look to sure things up at the back, Sarah and Holly will add some excitement at the other end of the field. Both are attacking players with a good eye for goal, the ability to take players on and create and score goals.”
“Abby was a stand out defender across the league last year and has returned from the Olympics in fantastic condition raring to go for the new season.”
“I am sure Sarah and Holly will be keen to continue the trend of Kiwi Internationals performing well for Adelaide United Lady Reds.” http://www.ffsa.com.au/home/news-archive/news/article/2012/september/lady-reds-unveil-international-signings/

Just saw this on red out loud.
I really hope this means there could be upgrades but knowing the SA government.......
CEO Dear Dimitri
The Parks Community Centre is under the control of Port Adelaide Enfield Council with the future of any development in their hands.
Government is conducting a stadia review of all venues under their control with Hindmarsh being one of those. We have been part of the process and await their findings which are due in April 2013. Our position is that Hindmarsh is the home of football in this State and we encourage Government to invest in our code along the lines to that which they have supported Aussie Rules and Cricket. It may well be that the fans have to be heard.
