Interesting that the Jets can find a new backer, yet Mariners have been looking for ages but nothing, unless the license is taken away from the Coast,
then there are afew around that have enquired. Why is the Coast so unattractive to major investors from anywhere?

Newcastle has always had solid support from the region even during some pretty dire times.
When they have been successful on the pitch and that's been limited they've had attendances right up there with clubs like Brisbane.

It's a shame with what happened with Martin Lee, he's been a pretty stable, silent owner and had a great thing going when the Jets had that strong season.
Once Trump tariffed his fortune he lost interest in the league which is understandable when you lose tens (maybe even hundreds?) of millions from your portfolio.

Maybe they thought it was Newcastle United in the UK. Everyone else has seemingly been interested tried in buying them :)

Maybe so. Ownership of clubs whether by local or foreign interests have had a very rocky ride, as many come in with high hopes and they fade very quickly.

Let’s hope this works out for NJ.

Something I was thinking, are there any other viable options for NJ to play matches at another ground In Newcastle? With the talk of needing venues the better suit the needs of clubs, I started looking around the country and would be interested to know what they could do as an alternative.

Because Newcastle the city has a port and strong industry. It is no wonder it sparks Chinese interest given other avenues within the surrounding industries it could help open. Mariners have some smackheads, couple of sauce bottles and a shopping plaza from 1962.

All Chinese government purchases are strategic. Hopefully no one is still naive enough regarding company operations in China? Everything is owned by the CCP, Newcastle is a valuable strategic commodity and the CCP plays the long game.

Ignoring the publically stated ambition for the entire world to operate under the guidance of the CCP is foolish. I'm not saying boo about Newcastle getting owners, I'm saying boo that the owners are a puppet of an authoritarian regime that is literally running concentration camps where rape, murder, forced sterilization, organ harvesting and slave labour is occurring. But you know, nothing wrong with accepting blood money.

The thing about football - the important thing about football - is its not just about football.

you make a point above being negative BUT the other point is the credibility of any owner no matter the type of investment.
Companies as such hide behind a commodity as a front and its where their money really ends up in the big picture.
Its great another Club gains a new owner but its not the type of owners you'd say this is a great union.
Same goes for your City club/s owners and their regime. Unless your from the same blood the rest of the citizens and migrant workers are at the mercy of their politics.
Love the front of the football club ownership/s and sadly they are the ones with money in todays world investing in football.

Buy a struggling team in a centre of industry.

Club needs infrastructure, so buy up prime land for football related purposes. Buy up houses for players and staff to support the business. Club house needs a bar and pokies, so need a good site for that. All orders coming from China. All materials coming from China. All a big foot in the door.

Maybe the club needs a waterfront club house with its own freakishly convenient deepwater dock.

Team jet could do with its own little runway on club land.

Electronics in the state of the art 'media centre' freakishly also occasionally intercept network traffic by accident across the entire region. Electronics experts from China work hard to identify how it could have happened while the club denies it actually does happen.

Visiting other states to play would be more easily managed if the club had some sort of facilities in each centre; so buy up some prime real estate in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide to allow the business of football to operate most efficiently.

Whether it is considered foreign ownership or not I have no idea, but if there is a legal loophole it will have been fully investigated and every avenue for expansion will be exploited.

Not all tinfoil hat and paranoia. I believe the country behind the company is the most insidious organisation on the planet.

To imagine that it is actually about football is a comical tragedy.

A wolf in wolf's clothing, viewed by people wearing sheep coloured glasses.

When I wear their colours, I am the club.

Anyone not currently worried by the CCP just needs to look at their development bank that funds the construction of trade infrastructure along the African continent. They end up as projections of CCP power and influence, run by CCP companies with Chinese nationals staffing them. For all intents and purpose, and some times outright, Chinese sovereign land in other nations.

Look at what the CCP has done in the South China Sea or look at the island it stole from the Philippines. Look at how it has gotten a satellite to the L2 and has a presence on at the South Pole if the moon with the intention of a permanent lunar colony being established. If you are unaware the lunar south pole is vital for intrastellar development as it grants access to water for use as fuel along with other necessary resources for the establishment of a lunar and earth orbit industry.

The CCP is planning on building orbital solar array satellites to generate electricity that can then be beamed to earth, they are wanting to capture the global energy market this way. Again a stated CCP ambition.

Ignorance of the CCP global ambition is borderline criminal at this stage. They are not shy about saying exactly what they want to do, then they do it. They also do not recognise any form of international agreement that does come with force to back it up. When told their occupation of Scarborough Shoal, Spratly island etc was illegal their response was a simple 'we don't recognise the authority of the court'.

I agree wholeheartedly that China is a wolf in wolf clothing being looked at through sheep coloured glasses.

The thing about football - the important thing about football - is its not just about football.
