Interesting that the Jets can find a new backer, yet Mariners have been looking for ages but nothing, unless the license is taken away from the Coast, 
then there are afew around that have enquired. Why is the Coast so unattractive to major investors from anywhere?

Newcastle has always had solid support from the region even during some pretty dire times.
When they have been successful on the pitch and that's been limited they've had attendances right up there with clubs like Brisbane.

It's a shame with what happened with Martin Lee, he's been a pretty stable, silent owner and had a great thing going when the Jets had that strong season.
Once Trump tariffed his fortune he lost interest in the league which is understandable when you lose tens (maybe even hundreds?) of millions from your portfolio.

Because Newcastle the city has a port and strong industry. It is no wonder it sparks Chinese interest given other avenues within the surrounding industries it could help open. Mariners have some smackheads, couple of sauce bottles and a shopping plaza from 1962.

My loose understanding of it is because CCM comes with a lot more debt.

I think I recall seeing to get to the 15m licence fee, the Jerks were looking at around 11-12m to the owner whereas CCM were 3-4m. I remember reading into it more a while back, but in essence it told me Jerks were about 3-4m in debt where CCM were around 11m in debt. 

Great news! The league keeps attracting international investors. Newcastle will be the team to beat next year.

Something I was thinking, are there any other viable options for NJ to play matches at another ground In Newcastle? With the talk of needing venues the better suit the needs of clubs, I started looking around the country and would be interested to know what they could do as an alternative.

Best 2nd option for the Jets would be No.2 Sportsground which is much closer to the CBD but also would need some upgrades. W-League and Y-League already play a fair chunk of their games there. Throw enough dollars at it and it could be something akin to a smaller Hindmarsh. The Rugby Union toss pots believe they have a divine right to it but football seems to be using it more and more now (NPL grand final there this year).

I'm just amazed there are even enough toffs in newcastle to support a Union community.

Shame the old breakers ground was lost to the game but no 2 does look like a decent facility in a good spot to host events in newcastle that don't require use of the main stadium.

Buy a struggling team in a centre of industry.

Club needs infrastructure, so buy up prime land for football related purposes. Buy up houses for players and staff to support the business. Club house needs a bar and pokies, so need a good site for that. All orders coming from China. All materials coming from China. All a big foot in the door.

Maybe the club needs a waterfront club house with its own freakishly convenient deepwater dock.

Team jet could do with its own little runway on club land.

Anyone not currently worried by the CCP just needs to look at their development bank that funds the construction of trade infrastructure along the African continent. This discussion is still about football and the Jets as far as I am concerned Waz - but it does extend far beyond a simple football club purchase.

America is not the problem - their politics is. That sort of thing is not an issue that belongs in a football discussion I agree.

Chinese people are not the problem - it is the Chinese government that is. They work to something like a 100 year financial plan. No single moment in time reflects their overall progress or intentions.
