+x+x+x+x+xAnd btw, he did confirm he’ll be involved in recruitment and retention among other things. For 2020 it’s Panthers 9-5 and Bulldogs in his own time. AND, something you might not have known I certainly didn’t, he was a Bulldogs fan growing up. Brother played lower grades back in 90’s and he used to sneak into the dressing rooms. Favourite player is Terry Lamb. I’m 100% behind the move now it’s done... I can’t see how it will work for the Panthers for more than a couple of though... I’m putting him on ‘gardening leave’ if I’m their Board... Too great a risk re bonds with fringe/stuck/disgruntled players especially...
Well thank god we have your blessing your royal highness Yeah... u got me confused with a Dibby if u think u think my blessing is important... Anyway, I’m sure Baz can’t wait to hear your target list for 21... No doubt Kevin Locke appears at the top of the list again... Followed by 4 contracted players.. . Actually..... if the rumours are true, Burton (contracted) could be following Barrett to the Dogs Contracts mean fekk all.
Nice to see the NRL do sweet FA about the Raiders approaching a contracted CHN with still 2.5yrs remaining on his deal
The same organisation will let the Roosters fit $BW into their team this season without a murmur

Up until a week or so ago in the NV’L there was no registered contract... Your Doppelgänger TTT facilitated it..

Panthers problem, not ours. I hope he sees out the year there, they’ll be playing finals, maybe GF, maybe win it. All experience I’d like him to bring with him.

+xHis first interview as Dogs coach on NRL360 was very impressive. Very open about mistakes he made in the past and what he learnt from them. Even impressed chief cynic Kent. and constantly used the royal “we”. There was no “they” or “the club”, it was we, we, we. If you remember when Des first signed he didn’t say “we” for the first year. Who’s Des? You mean Fwit Des?

He also remarked about being patient on recruitment for 2021. I get the impression he’s observed how many late season releases there’s been over the last few seasons (for immediate eg - CHN) and is keen to see who falls from the tree, and indeed who he may shake from it.
There’ll be plenty of players signed at a club for ‘21 who won’t be at that club in ‘21.

+xCanterbury Bankstown news what ever that is paper saying Cory haraweira Naira is off 2 Canberra been tx but I don’t see anything on him but my mate said it true his gone that means Barrett didn’t get to see him I'd like to CHN stay as he offers alot and is the type of player we need But i can see why a move to the Raiders is appealing as they are a premiership force and have players in the outside backs that can make CHN be a more effective player

+x+xCant exactly say I'm stoked, but will give Baz my full support until rd10... Hopefully Burton is keen to follow Baz... Barrett brings such a different approach to the game that he can change this team and club more than anyone has done since The Wok. I think he'll be a successful coach, but even if he isn't just bringing that change and embedding it makes him the best appointment we could've made IMO. We will be completely different. Win lose or draw we will be a 21st century football team, not one mired in the past. We needed generational change and Barrett is next generation. 100% Agree with your last paragraph. Its been a while coming. People are nostalgic with the 80's style of play which yielded a number of premierships but the reality is that it doesn't do you much good in todays game. Im looking forward to Barrett implementing a significant change from the past. Even if he doesnt win us a premiership it will be a step i the right direction

Barrett told the club to let CHN go as he is selfish and has disrespected his club and team mates at more than one club...

Won’t agree he is the best choice but agree with the rest... Will back the Board are doing as best they see fit for the club...As I have all along...
I’m glad it’s done, though would’ve preferred an immediate start...

We have got nothing to lose... change is needed in all aspects of the club.... Hopefully the board and CEO are working on scouting, player development, juniors, finances, sponsors, equipment... giving the coach the real ingredients he needs, the environment and the backing.. The funny thing about NRL is that there is a right formula for every era, and an era can be as short as 1-3 seasons, but the same basic skills and formulas work in all eras.... Our team tries hard and put in the effort, what I hope Barrett will bring is more smarts, better game management, betting licking game, more options and organisation in attack, better execution..... Get the attack working, confidence, effort an attitude will fix a lot of the defence,. We need some better players, but they are coming, very happy with all signings so far this year, Thompson, Cotric, Barrett, even Lafai is OK, only because we don't have anyone better.

And of course AT LAST! we have our Tom Cruise impersonator, perhaps the best in the game.
I'm telling you, it's all positives.

The Wok changed the team and indeed the club from a flukey satisfied to even be there type to hardened ruthless professionals that would do anything to win. and that stayed with us... mostly... up until GFQF night 2006.
I'm sure Barrett will have the same effect in changing us from a patterned everyone in their channel running blocks that everyone sees coming a mile off football to one that plays heads up play what's in front of you giving the talent room to do their thing football which is what the successful teams are doing now. What Penrith are doing now.
Things are gonna change. A lot.
