12 months since Stajic was sacked.

Just a reminder. 

Reid, Heyman, Rushton, Zelic & Holmes.  You've all gotten away with it & are feeling cocky, smug & empowered but you are all still human scum. 

In light of Mariner's & especially their coach's recent form I felt this thread could use a bump & reminder to the filth who names will live on in infamy in Australian football forever.

Stajcic clearly has ability as a football coach. To bounce back from the controversy and kick in the guts, in the manner he has, on such a limited budget, is impressive.

I missed all this, what did Rushton and Zelic do? 

They spread the lies in the media, vouched that there problems without even having information because they were told by a party in the FFA, basically defamed Stadj.
Now they try to say their victims too.

I've only been following this on the side but the vagueness of it all is disgraceful. Are there laws preventing such internal information being released?

If it were something horrible and justified then the majority would stand by the victims. The pundits and, if I remember, some of the players saying 'things were bad,' doesn't cut it.

My understanding is some of the less selected and fringe players were upset with Staj's bluntness...

They complained to Heather Reid..

Reid decided he had to go, and then spread stories of inappropriate behaviour to key female Football journalist.

The journalist never questioned as far as we know what Reid was telling them and all hell broke loss in the media.

Staj denied all reports and was supported at the time by FFA, and Gallop had warned Staj that key people in FFA wanted him gone..

The referred to journalist raised hell and indicated there where massive issue FFA where trying to cover up...

Media reports breaking all over the place... so based on nothing other than some complaints fringe players FFA fired Staj...

Staj sued and it looked like he was going to wipe the floor with FFA so a non disclosure agreement was reached and he was paid ... how much noone knows but his name was cleared of any wrong doing...

The said journalist who went after Staj in the manner they did, now claim to have been victims of Reid as well... indicating she said and implied things that were untrue...

Its an open question, when what you write will ruin a person career do you check on what your source has told you OR OR given Reid was a FFA director should they have accepted what she said with little questioning ????

Hopefully the FA (FFA) board will learn from this whole sorry saga. Some football ‘journalists’ will, perhaps, learn to check the facts before trashing someone’s reputation. Luckily Alen Stajcic doesn’t seem to be the type of person to allow it to destroy him. He is now showing his great skills as a coach in the men’s game and, I believe, success beyond these shores will mark him as a man of wonderful skill and great integrity.
Sadly, I think he will be lost to the National Team set up but, given what has gone on, he will be better off,  personally, proving some people wrong.

Good summary but one thing missing is: context. Let be clear and honest and call it out who did what and why they were successful.

The context is that this happened during the Me Too Anti-Male woke frenzy of 2019-2020.

He was a male coach surrounded by man-haters and lesbians and that was enough for them to say whatever they want and to get away with causing him to lose his job and reputation.

Of course, Stajcic's situation-like many other high profile case that went to Court and sued for damages, it didn't pan out as planned.

The truth always comes out.

Clearly they didn't know when they should know...

Toxic culture obviously to blame.

I don't watch the matildas much. Only every now and then when they play here.

When i listen to podcasts they always say how good our girls are and how they can  be competing to win a world cup.

My questions is if this is the case why are we getting thrashed?? If our girls are of such good quality.

Is Stajcic laffin' or cryin' ?

Combination of things and Chondro is better placed to comment than I am but we don't have the talent we used to and the Europeans have decided to take women's football seriously. 

Also we live in a deluded bubble where we think we're better than we are.  

We will sink like a stone down the rankings to mid teens and possibly lower.  Pretty soon will be level pegging with our men's team when it comes to a ranking.

The problem here is the media is butter soft and dont ask honest questions about this team, they have plenty of flaws and need alot of work.

Probably both. 

Let's just agree though as long as no one is being told they're fat or they need to train a bit harder then it really doesn't matter how much of a hiding we're copping.
